Rapper and imprint label owner, Rasheeda, met with aspiring singer Ashley Nicole over her disrespectful attitude. Lesbian Bisexual Ashley, who has been flirting with Rasheeda’s Kirk Frost, who signed her to the couple’s company D-Lo Entertainment. Ashley has also been calling the Rasheeda old and washed up, when she‘s only 33-years of age. Now to a 12-year-old, 33 is old. However, Ashley, who claims she is in her late teens, but based on items online is much older, is in another world.

Little did Ashley realize that Rasheeda is co-owner of D-Lo Entertainment with Kirk and decides whether or not she gets to release an album. Ashley apologized for her insults, but then tried to turn it around stating Rasheeda started it, when no such thing happened. Ashley is an arrogant young singer who believes she has made it simply by being on the show. However, as stated in past columns, she has created such a bad image for herself, even with all the exposure from “Love And Hip Hop Atlanta” and two slickly produced songs, there is still no buzz surrounding her, as the public deems her a home wrecker.

Atlanta rapper Rasheeda Frost grew tired of aspiring singer, Ashley Nicole, flirting with her unfaithful husband, Kirk Frost and disrespecting her in so many ways. As a result of Ashley Nicole's arrogance, Rasheeda, co-owner of D-Lo Entertainment, threatened to tear up the five album record deal Kirk issued the wannabe star with a bigger mouth than singing vocals.

Ashley Nicole crossed the line when she yelled at Rasheeda at an auction of Kirk's possessions, conducted without his permission. Ashley barked at Rasheeda, "It's not my fault he cheated on you." Who told her to say that. Rasheeda became angry and informed Ashley, "You don't have two nickels to rub together. You don't have a record deal. Your deal is null and void."

Rasheeda had a change of heart and has given her a second chance, with the stipulation she stops being arrogant and disrespectful. It's a bad idea the Frost family sign Ashley Nicole, who has already run afoul of the public with her arrogance. She is a marginally talented, disrespectful singer, who will tear their marriage and family apart if allowed. D-Lo entertainment has not found the next Whitney Houston, which makes Ashley Nicole's attitude not worth the trouble and not worth the financial investment. When she gets dropped, many will not want to work with Ashley over her attitude.

When it rains it pours. After Mariah Carey's latest CD "Elusive Chanteuse" flopped, in what was an unexpected development for her label, management, publicist and husband, many severed ties with her. Carey's cornball husband, Nick Cannon, left her stating she is mentally ill and her publicist ditched her as well. The singer is currently looking for new representation. Carey is expected to lose her record deal with Def Jam, who poured money into "Elusive Chanteuse" only to see it bomb (under a boycott). Had the album been successful Def Jam would have renewed Carey's recording contract.

Carey's publicist, Cindi Berger, unable to cope with the singer's first real career failure or increasingly erratic behavior, dropped her as a client, then got into a war of words with her. Berger maintains she quit. However, Carey is making a scene taking the Hollywood approach by stating she dropped Berger via a missive that stated, "I think it's time for us to take a break Cindi." Carey really was dropped by Berger. Carey's career has imploded. So has her personal life. A top publicist does not want the job of explaining that to the media on a weekly basis.

I’ve always maintained there is talent on the internet waiting to be discovered. Case in point, singer Justin Bieber, was discovered online as a teen and went on to international fame. Rapper Chief Keef released his music via the internet and amassed such a following on social networking and You Tube, it caught the attention of labels and he was signed to Interscope Records on a $7,000,000 deal. 

Rapper Bobby Shmurda is the latest star to emerge from humble beginnings on the internet. His song “Hot N***a” became the hit of the year among domestic and international audiences, before he even landed a major label record deal. The internet can work for aspiring musicians and athletes, showcasing their talents to top tier management who can sign them and take their careers to new heights. However, after you make the internet work for you via Twitter, Instagram and You Tube, among other sites, you have to spend and invest your money wisely.

Chief Keef’s money problems after having roughly $2,000,000 go through his hands is a prime example of this ($1,000,000 record label advance and approximately $1,000,000 in earnings from shows, publishing ect...). Wild spending led to evictions and bumping heads with the people investing in his career. Chief Keef Dropped From Multi-Million Dollar Record Deal With Interscope

19-year-old trouble prone Chicago rapper, Chief Keef, real name Keith Cozart, has been unceremoniously dropped from his multi-million dollar record deal with Interscope Records, without all the terms and payments of the deal being fulfilled. Keef and Interscope have been having disagreements about the direction of his new album and career overall.

Cozart has had many run-ins with the law and spent time in juvenile detention centers. He recorded a few singles and released them to the internet, which garnered a significant amount of attention in the rap world. He was signed to Interscope Records on a deal thought to be worth up to $7,000,000. He was given a $1,000,000 advance to record his 2012 debut CD "Finally Rich." Keef had a few successful singles, but his debut CD flopped, selling approximately 200,000 copies over its main shelf life.

In addition to the $1,000,000 advance, very little of which was used to produce his low budget CD and videos, Keef earned money from doing concerts in clubs and small venues. However, Keef experienced money problems. For nearly two-years the Judiciary Report warned about Keef's wild spending and that it would lead to trouble. Then he was evicted from his home. Keef chose to rent and not buy, which the Judiciary Report advised against. He also purchased several sports cars, another move the Judiciary Report warned against.

Now that he has been dropped from his record deal, which the Judiciary Report knew was coming, he is going to face greater financial issues. Keef needs to sell most of the cars and put his remaining cash into buying a home, via mortgage, opening a savings account and looking into legitimate, legal ways to start a small business to generate revenues, as the music and sports industries are not a sure thing. It never is for anyone.

Recent episodes of the reality show “Braxton Family Values” reveal singer Tamar Braxton behaving badly in her treatment of her sisters Trina, Towanda and Traci. This transpires while big sister, Grammy Award winning singer, Toni Braxton, looks on perplexed at what fame has done to her younger, not to mention louder, sibling. 

Tamar, so full of hype over her career finally taking off after 15-years of less than successful attempts, threw her sisters out of her concert, for surprising her on stage. Tamar called them “motherf*****s” “bit**es” and “sparkly Teletubbies” (basically calling them fat) before her tour manager unceremoniously ejected them from the venue.

Tamar is painfully jealous of her sister Toni Braxton, who became a household name in the 1990s and enjoyed much success as a recording star at LaFace Records. That jealous keeps seeping through on the show. You also see why LaFace chose Toni, a good vocalist and piano player, who is relatively easy to work with. Tamar has the bigger voice…and ego. The latter producers are wary of in artists.

Ironically, if it weren’t for Toni, Tamar wouldn’t have a record deal, as she put the family’s name on the map and took her sisters on tours with her. Then Toni’s sisters, sans Traci, received a record deal and earned two moderately successful R&B hits "So Many Ways" "Only Love" and "The Boss." 

 

Tamar Braxton's self-titled debut CD did not farewell in 2000 due to the weak lead single "Get None" but had the impressive song "If You Don't Wanna Love Me." However, sales were low and Tamar was dropped from her record deal. However, her 2014 CD "Love And War" has become a hit and it has gone straight to her head.

Not to mention, Toni introduced Tamar to music manager, Vincent Herbert, who has now helped to make her famous. You should thank God for your sister. She’s been a blessing to you. Your other sisters have been there for you as well.

Troubled teenage rapper Chief Keef, 18, has been evicted from the luxury apartment he was renting in Chicago, Illinois, for non-payment of rent. Keef owes four months in rent totaling $11,000. This marks the second time he has faced eviction in the past two years. Keef also rented a mansion on the outskirts of Chicago and stopped submitting rent, forcing legal proceedings (Chief Keef Arrest Warrant Cancelled New Court Date Set).

This should not have happened. Keef was given a record deal worth $6,000,000 with a multi-million dollar advance, to be recouped against future earnings. He also did many shows, pulling in over $1,000,000. He had an estimated $3,000,000 in cash on hand, but his money has been mismanaged. Excessive spending by the rapper, who purchased $1,000,000 in cars, rather than a home, was an imprudent financial decision. Cars depreciate, whereas homes usually appreciate in value.

This week, two of TLC's top fansites bitterly complained on the social networking website Twitter that the female duo had been dropped from Epic/Sony records because of their former manager, Pebbles, being angry with the portrayal of her in the movie "CrazySexyCool: The TLC Story" (Pebbles Being Blamed For TLC Being Dropped From Sony Music's Epic Records But The Truth Is...).

Television network VH-1 issued a retraction to Pebbles on the former "true story" rebranding it a "fictionalized" account of events that transpired and no "reasonable person" should take it literally. However, some fans of TLC have been directing a lot of hate and animosity towards Pebbles on Twitter.

However, when TLC were removed from the Epic/Sony recently, the webmasters of a couple TLC fansites, drew the public's attention to it and blamed Pebbles as the reason behind it. However, as a pr rep pointed out to me and others on Twitter, L.A. Reid has since issued a tweet stating, "sorry folks- @OfficialTLC have not been dropped by @Epic_Records and yes we @officialchilli and @tbozworld are friends 4 life!"

 

Either the fansites were misinformed or the usage of the words "sorry folks" in L.A. Reid's statement indicates they were dropped but have been reinstated. Either way, as the Judiciary Report pointed out yesterday, TLC's sales new are too low (50,000 units in one month) as artists selling five times as many units have been dropped.

The whole dynamic of the group changed when Lisa Lopes died a decade ago in a tragic car accident. Things haven't been the same since, then the group went on an extended hiatus. Many younger audiences do not know who TLC are, though the biopic did grant them new exposure.

17-year-old juvenile delinquent rapper, Chief Keef, real name Keith Cozart, is in more legal trouble than he can shake a stick at. An Illinois judge has issued a warrant for his arrest, ordering him jailed for missing a child support court hearing, regarding the $20,000 in back payments Keef owes the underage mother of his young daughter.

Weeks prior, another judge hit Keef with a $250,000 judgment for skipping a show in London, England which damaged the promoter's name and cost the company Team Major $75,000 in advance fees. This week it was announced another planned Chief Keef show arranged by a different promoter has been cancelled by promoter ScoreMore, who fears the rapper is going to jail. Keef has also been sued by his landlord Georghe Simoniak-Sas for $10,000 in back rent on the 6-bedroom Illinois mansion he has been renting for $4,700 per month.

Keef signed a record deal thought to be worth $6,000,000. He received a hefty advance. His songs and videos cost very little to produce. He is frequently seen flashing large wads of cash. He should not be facing financial problems. His spending may lend a clue as to what has transpired with his finances, as Keef has purchased a series of luxury vehicles worth $1,000,000 (an Audi Spyder, Lamborghini, Ferrari, Bentley and BMW). He also has a drug and alcohol problem and with lack of sobriety present, one will end up delinquent on financial obligations and missing important court dates.

Tyga took to Twitter and facetiously called Gucci "Burberry" and further stated Mane has "HIV." If this is true, the long list of women Mane has bedded need to get themselves tested as soon as possible. Mane also needs extensive rehab, as his drug and alcohol problems are taking over his life.

According to an online report, Island Def Jam Records is not in a hurry to resign singer Mariah Carey to a record deal. Her last few albums did not do well, failing to produce any real hits. Mariah's last hit was the copyright infringing track "We Belong Together" which brought her career back from the abyss, only for it to slide back there once again.

Reports indicate Carey is mulling leaving Island Def Jam Records, blaming them for failing to promote her music, but she had no hit material. A pop artist's core fanbase is never enough to produce a hit single or CD in the sales department. The music has to be great and appeal to a wide cross-section of listeners to be a hit.
A report in the New York Post stated, "No one's really scrambling to renegotiate her contract or put her music out." Carey's most recent single "Beautiful" released in May, did not do well, resulting in her album "The Art Of Letting Go" being pushed back two times.

The question is if Island Def Jam Records drops her, which label will take one for the team and sign her, because they're going to lose money. For years many from her former label Sony have complained in the industry that Carey is very difficult to work with and is mentally ill.

Carey has also been repeatedly sued for stealing music from established acts such as Earth, Wind and Fire, The Emotions and George Michael, as well as lesser known singers and songwriters, resulting in big legal fees. There have been many lawsuits and a few settlements.

I've Carey in action in this regard and can testify she steals other people's music. When an artist spends months or even years writing their music, then an entitled singer such as Carey steals it hen has them blacklisted, to cover their misconduct, it destroys innocent people's careers, out of greed. It deprives others of their property and pay, which is wholly wrong.

All singers do not engage in this misconduct, as copyright infringement is a federal crime, but make no mistake, some do. This conduct is so unnecessary, as there are many gifted songwriters that could be hired. However, some artists pretend they are something they are not - songwriters and destroy other people's careers and lives in the process via copyright infringement.

A forthcoming Judiciary Report article will contain a list of Carey's many infringements, which defrauded hardworking singers and songwriters out of what is rightfully theirs in credit, awards and royalty checks.

Carey is upset with the label, Island Def Jam, also because the release date of her album "The Art of Letting Go" was delayed, reports Nypost.

"No one's really scrambling to renegotiate her contract or put her music out," a source said. The 43-year-old had earlier revealed via her Twitter page about her plans to delay the album as she felt it was not ready to be introduced. Meanwhile, Carey is currently nursing her dislocated shoulder, which is a result of an injury she suffered while shooting a music video.

It was revealed yesterday that 17-year-old rapper and ex-con, Chief Keef, is engaged to butt model Pretty Mesha. He tweeted photos of her in his bed. She posted a photo of her engagement ring. Keef, real name Keith Cozart, signed a lucrative recording contract worth millions, which included a large advance (lump sum). He also earns an estimated $13,000 per month in royalties, this is in addition to the money he makes from appearances and shows.

Keef is under a court ordered supervisory program regarding his finances, as he is a minor. It will be interesting (to see), not to mention advisable that he obtain a prenuptial agreement in the event the engagement turns into marriage (as he also has a child by another girl, whose financial future and interests he needs to protect). No offense intended to the couple, but history has shown, sometimes when marriages don't work out, one partner tries to financially wipe out the other one, especially when infidelity is involved. Did things come too easily to the legendary singer Whitney Houston and did it contribute to her early demise at the age of 47-years-old from a cocaine overdose. Houston was one of the most beautiful women in the world, with a singing voice so fantastic it wowed many the minute they heard her.

These were all God given gifts, which begs the question, did Houston take these blessings for granted that many would have loved to own. Many singers have to work very hard to sing the most basic of songs correctly, yet Houston was able to sing effortlessly. She was naturally beautiful, which also attracted attention for her unique career. Her mother, legendary singer, Cissy Houston, also used her contacts to land her gifted daughter a record deal.

At points it became clear she was overwhelmed by the industry and turned to drugs as an escape, but it became a prison that killed her. What was to be an escape, albeit an ill-advised one, jeopardizes, then damaged her gifts and worst of all claimed her life.
