The Passing Of Boxer And Human Rights Activist Muhammad Ali Mourned All Over The World

Former heavyweight boxing champion, Muhammad Ali, has died at the age of 74. Ali was checked into a hospital in Arizona this past Thursday and listed as in stable condition. However, his condition took a turn for the worst on Friday. Reports state Ali died from septic shock and organ failure. His family was at his hospital bedside.

Ali won the heavyweight world title three times in his career. He retired with a record of 61-5. However, he was most known for the human rights stance he took during the civil rights era in America that saw black people suffer terrible injustices. Ali stood up to the U.S. government at a time when doing so could have gotten him murdered, as happened to other key figures during the civil rights movement, under illegal, invasive investigation by the FBI and CIA. There are offensive secret files on Ali at both agencies, for daring to stand up to injustice in America.

Ali won a gold medal at the 1960 Olympics. When he returned to America, he thought it would mean he would be treated with respect and have equal rights. However, a restaurant refused to serve Ali a meal, as it was “whites only.” Ali left the restaurant and later threw his gold medal into the river. A replica was later made and given to Ali to replace the original Olympic medal.

Ali was diagnosed with Parkinsons in 1984, the direct result of punishing blows he took to the head in the ring while wearing his opponents down. Ali remained active despite his diagnosis. I cared for someone with Parkinsons for 6-months. In that time, I gained a greater understanding of the disorder than before. It is the accelerated degeneration of the brain initiated by head trauma.

Many people with Parkinsons suffered head trauma at some point in their lives and it is a common link. The brain controls the body and in that Parkinsons manifests itself in a number of physical ways. Medicine, rest, proper nutrition, physical therapy and brain training helps in delaying the progression of the disorder.

As stated in the column previously, my parents met Ali in the 1970s when he visited Kingston, Jamaica and was a special guest at the Prime Minister's residence for a function held in his honor. My dad's friend, former Prime Minister, Michael Manley, invited Ali to the island and he graciously accepted. My parents stated Ali was a nice, charming and humorous person (Meeting Muhammad Ali). My condolences to Ali's family on his passing. I am sorry for your loss. He was a special person and it is sad to see him go.

Floyd Mayweather offended many members of the public today regarding statements he made in an interview with ESPN's Stephen A. Smith. Mayweather slammed legendary boxer, Muhammad Ali stating, "So you gonna tell me it's cool to lay on the ropes, take punishment, then land a few punches." Considering Ali now has Parkinsons and in my opinion from head trauma he suffered in the ring, Mayweather's statements are unkind and insensitive.

Mayweather further stated, "No one can ever brainwash me to make me believe that Sugar Ray Robinson and Muhammad Ali was better than me. No one could ever brainwash me and tell me that. But one thing I will do, I'm going to take my hat off to them and respect those guys because those are the guys that paved the way for me to be where I'm at today." Despite Mayweather's statements, Ali is still considered the greatest boxer.

Mayweather also stated he faces racism in America just as Ali did, but that is wholly inaccurate. Ali is from the civil rights era and faced far greater racism than Mayweather has known. Mayweather can book the top suite in any hotel in America. Last year he vacationed in Miami at the FontaineBleau hotel. When Ali would train in Miami that is not where he would stay. Many black musicians and athletes were not allowed to stay in the same hotels as white people during the civil rights era.

This is a follow up to the February 3, 2015 article "The FBI Declines To Charge Darren Wilson In The Murder Of Mark Brown Revealing A Pattern Of Injustice Against Minorities At The Agency." Today, the FBI's parent agency, the equally corrupt, Department of Justice, has announced, child killer, George Zimmerman, will not be charged for murdering 17-year-old minor, Trayvon Martin. Instead, Zimmerman, this deranged threat to the public, especially black people, will be allowed to continue to roam free. Zimmerman has illustrated he is a walking time bomb.

Since the time Zimmerman was unjustly acquitted in the murder of Martin, he has broken his father-in-law's nose in an unprovoked confrontation, where he also threatened his wife, who is divorcing him. Zimmerman was also arrested twice for domestic violence, in hitting and choking his girlfriend, but was released with no charges filed. He also threatened to murder a motorist in an incident that was an unprovoked act of road rage from Zimmerman.

The FBI has declined to find fault with the criminal conduct of Ferguson police officer Darren Wilson, in the killing of Mike Brown. The case sparked protests all over America and the world, with protesters of all colors promoting the slogan “Black Lives Matter.” Brown’s killing was suspicious on every level and bore all the signs of police brutality and excessive force. Adding to the controversy is one of the witnesses for Sharper, whose testimony threw the grand jury case into chaos, was given a cushy government job.

The FBI has an appalling record in the area of human and civil rights. The FBI had also reviewed the Trayvon Martin case for potential civil rights violations charges. The FBI sided with child killer George Zimmerman, defending his behavior as self-defense, when the world condemned it as a race based killing of an unarmed teen, who was minding his own business when stalked and killed. Zimmerman has since engaged in more acts of violence, breaking his father-in-law’s nose, threatening a motorist that he would shoot and kill him and twice being arrested for domestic violence in beating up his girlfriend.

Why do the FBI bother to review these cases, getting the bereaved families hopes up, only to repeatedly and cruelly dash them, siding with murderers. People should not be surprised. Former FBI agents have gone on record stating the FBI had the great civil rights hero Martin Luther King killed after he refused to obey the suicide letter they sent him. The FBI has an appalling human rights record. At the FBI, black lives don’t matter.

Today is Martin Luther King Jr. day in America, honoring the late civil rights hero. King’s message still resonates today, with some of his dreams for racial equality having been realized. Many in the international community also hold King in high esteem, as a world hero for his tremendous efforts and personal sacrifice. The world needs more men and women like him.

Civil rights hero Nelson Mandela (Madiba) passed away yesterday at the age of 95. The wonderful, courageous South African, was cruelly and unjustly jailed for 27-years for peacefully opposing apartheid. After his release, Madela, born into African royalty, became the first black President of South Africa, in a monumental moment in history and one that is proudly remembered by many.

Mandela preached a beautiful message that all are equal. Mandela, like fellow human rights advocate and civil rights hero, Martin Luther King Jr, devoted his energies to uniting blacks and whites, which is an admirable life's calling. He stood and will always stand as a symbol of peace and perseverance. The world was made better because he was in it. God bless Mandela and may he rest in peace.

U.S. President Barack Obama gave a speech today at the National Mall, addressing the crowds who gathered in the nation’s capital, Washington, DC, to commemorate the 50th anniversary of the historic, ground breaking March on Washington. The turnout was great.

50-years ago today the late, great civil rights leader, the Reverend Martin Luther King Jr., gave his rousing "I Have A Dream" speech which changed the course of life in America for the better. President Obama stated of Dr. King, "His words belong to the ages, possessing a power and prophecy unmatched in our time."

A new publish report indicates the FBI sent 27 people to prison on death row, on corrupted evidence that was compromised in the Federal Bureau of Investigation’s lab. It was discovered FBI employees lied on the witness stand about lab evidence to close out criminal cases, sending innocent people to prison, sitting on death row awaiting execution. The FBI is now reviewing these old cases.

The Judiciary Report has stated it before and will state it again, there are people locked away behind bars proclaiming their innocence and some are actually telling the truth. Sometimes innocent people lose their freedom and waste away in prison, while actually criminals walk free (you know, like George Zimmerman).

U.S. reviewing 27 death penalty convictions for FBI forensic testimony errors

Hsu, Wednesday, July 17, 7:07 PM - An unprecedented federal review of old criminal cases has uncovered as many as 27 death penalty convictions in which FBI forensic experts may have mistakenly linked defendants to crimes with exaggerated scientific testimony, U.S. officials said. The review led to an 11th-hour stay of execution in Mississippi in May.

It is not known how many of the cases involve errors, how many led to wrongful convictions or how many mistakes may now jeopardize valid convictions. Those questions will be explored as the review continues. The discovery of the more than two dozen capital cases promises that the examination could become a factor in the debate over the death penalty. Some opponents have long held that the execution of a person confirmed to be innocent would crystallize doubts about capital punishment. But if DNA or other testing confirms all convictions, it would strengthen proponents’ arguments that the system works.

FBI officials discussed the review’s scope as they prepare to disclose its first results later this summer. The death row cases are among the first 120 convictions identified as potentially problematic among more than 21,700 FBI Laboratory files being examined. The review was announced last July by the FBI and the Justice Department, in consultation with the Innocence Project and the National Association of Criminal Defense Lawyers (NACDL).

The unusual collaboration came after The Washington Post reported last year that authorities had known for years that flawed forensic work by FBI hair examiners may have led to convictions of potentially innocent people, but officials had not aggressively investigated problems or notified defendants.

Since at least the 1970s, written FBI Laboratory reports typically stated that a hair association could not be used as positive identification. However, on the witness stand, several agents for years went beyond the science and testified that their hair analysis was a near-certain match...
