Prince Estate Shuts Down Jay Z’s Cheap Bid To Buy Music Catalog For Far Less Than It Is Worth

Prince

This is a follow up to the October 31, 2016 article "Jay Z Tries To Defraud Prince Estate In Trying To Buy Music Catalog For Far Less Than It Is Worth." This week the Prince estate rejected Jay Z's financial offer of $40,000,000, which as stated on the site previously, is well below the value of the late singer's music catalog.

Jay Z has also been illegally streaming 15 Prince albums on his and Madonna's failed music streaming site Tidal. They did so after his death, which was illegal, dirty and sneaky on their part. Prince's estate is demanding payment for the unauthorized use of the music and rightfully so, as the illegal misconduct by graverobbers Jay Z and Madonna, defrauded the late singer's heirs out of money ($750,000).

Madonna (also known as Gollum), DeadMau5, Kanye West and Jay Z at Tidal's ill-fated launch

I don't know why underachieving, untalented people like Jay Z and Madonna keep stealing and or defraud real singers, songwriters and musicians out of their intellectual property. Unintelligent Jay Z and Madonna keep trying to take things that are way above them, that they did not and do not have the acumen to create.

Prior to Prince's death, he repeatedly stated he didn't want his work to be a part of the problem in pop culture. Prince was referencing the violent, misogynistic, depraved entertainment that is damaging people's minds and warping the public's outlook on life. I could just imagine the offensive madness Jay Z and Madonna would do with Prince's music if given the chance. It would be the equivalent of two monkeys taking a paint brush to a Picasso. They have no talent, sense of decency or decorum. People like them should not have the catalog.

Prince's Estate Is Not Happy With Jay Z

This might get ugly.
Published 22 hours ago - The moment that Jay Z had the opportunity to, he put a bid out of $40 million in hopes of getting his hands on Prince's vault of unreleased music, following the Purple One's untimely death earlier this year. Unfortunately, Hov lost the battle over Prince's highly coveted private collection of never-before-heard music, with Universal Music Publishing Group instead gaining control. That being said, the Tidal boss still has the rights to the music that was previously released, which was something that was mutually agreed upon between Jay Z and Prince while Prince was still with us.

Prince's estate, however, doesn't agree with how the situation unfolded and is reportedly taking action against Hov's decision to allow the music to be streamed on Tidal. Your content will resume shortly. As reported by TMZ, the estate said they will not allow "Roc Nation to exploit any of the intellectual property assets of the Estate."

According to the report, the estate is calling Jay's decision to have 15 albums from Prince's catalog available on Tidal as "unauthorized," which in short means that Hov may have to now pay up. Additionally, the estate reportedly is aware of the deal that Prince made with Jay Z, but is claiming they haven't yet found proof of a $750,000 payment to finalize the agreement....

Apple And Samsung Slam Rumors They Are Going To Buy Jay Z And Madonna’s Failed Tidal Music Streaming Service

Usher, Rihanna, Nicki Minaj, Madonna, Deadmau5, Kanye West, Jay Z and J Cole (also known as Hollywood's self-professed "Illuminati")

Today, Apple denied rumors floated by desperate entertainers Jay Z and Madonna, which had claimed the multi-billion dollar tech giant was going to buy their failed music streaming service Tidal. Jay Z and Madonna had also floated the same rumor via a publicist that Samsung was going to buy Tidal. However, Samsung immediately shot the rumors down weeks ago.

Apple stated, “We’re really running our own race. We’re not looking to acquire any streaming services.” The tech company has their own Apple Music streaming service and has no use for the massive losses, debts and liabilities Tidal has incurred in one year of operation. Tidal was left reeling after posting $28,000,000 in losses this week. All of Jay Z and Madonna’s business ventures have failed.

Jay Z and Madonna are two unintelligent thieves who've pulled the wool over the public's eyes for years. Rumblings in the industry indicate some of the remaining artists Jay Z and Madonna brought in on the now failed Tidal deal are ticked off their brands have been damaged by association with the abject failure of the project, after such a high profile launch. None of them like the stench of failure and desperation emanating from Tidal.

Entertainment industry artists not affiliated with Tidal have been complaining to their record labels and management about Jay Z and Madonna pestering them for streaming rights, trying to pull rank and using questionable, underhanded maneuvers in trying to force their hands. Record labels are sick of Tidal, blaming the company for lowering industry sales averages in repeatedly snatching major label releases as exclusive streaming projects, that go on to suffer from low sales.

The music industry is not big on streaming, but in the age of piracy views it as a way of limiting some of their losses from the decline of CD and digital sales, due to online theft of music. Tidal is releasing fake streaming numbers in inflating streams to get higher chart positions on Billboard, but not paying artists what is due to them, which does not benefit the music industry's sales averages or the labels' pockets. Labels are losing money on Tidal.

Jay Z And Madonna's Music Streaming Service Tidal Posts Massive Financial Loss Of $28,000,000

Usher, Rihanna, Nicki Minaj, Madonna, Deadmau5, Kanye West, Jay Z and J Cole (also known as Hollywood's self-professed "Illuminati")

Jay Z and Madonna's failed music streaming service, Tidal, has posted massive financial losses. Tidal, which was purchased for $57,000,000 a year ago, has already lost $28,000,000. That's a significant amount of money for a little company to lose and in one year. The company is also the subject of pending lawsuits. Jay Z and company have desperately been seeking a buyer for the decimated company, overvaluing it at $125,000,000.  However, there were no takers.

Jay Z tried to unload Tidal on Samsung, floating a story to the New York Post stating they wanted to purchase it for $100,000,000. However, Samsung immediately slammed the story as a lie. Samsung, who has sponsored projects by Jay Z and his vocally untalented artist, Rihanna, that went on to fail, has seen their fortunes turn for the worst in the face of Samsung 7 phone exploding due to their batteries.

Tidal's Madonna, DeadAmu5, Kanye West, Jay Z and J Cole

Jay Z has overvalued his failed companies in the past, such as Rocafella, in criminal violation of U.S. law. Jay Z stated Rocafella was worth $125,000,000, but after due diligence, the company who sought to purchase it, discovered it was only worth $20,000,000 and had heavy debts that would have to be assumed.

Tidal was a failure the moment it was purchased by Jay Z, Madonna and several other high profile artists, as none of them know anything about business. They just like to pretend for the cameras. Jay Z, his mistress, Rihanna, wife Beyonce and Madonna, are some of the entertainment industry's biggest copyright thieves. They've built their careers on intellectual property theft. Being a thief does not make one a good business person. It makes on a criminal.

Jay-Z's streaming service Tidal 'post huge losses' of almost $30 million

Published: 07:33 EST, 13 September 2016 | Updated: 13:53 EST, 13 September 2016 - Jay-Z's music streaming service Tidal reportedly posted heavy losses and struggled to make payments on time last year. The outlet discovered the huge losses after examining the accounts of the Swedish-based company. Tidal is Aspiro's core holding. According to the newspaper, Tidal received about 100 payment default records since Jay-Z bought the company through his holding group, Project Panther Bidco, for $56 million in March 2015.

Samsung Issues Statement Revealing Rumors About Them Buying Tidal Are Untrue

Tidal's Madonna, DeadAmu5, Kanye West, Jay Z and J Cole

Last week rapper Jay Z and singer Madonna floated rumors via the New York Post (again) stating tech company Samsung was interested in buying the struggling, failed music streaming company Tidal, owned by the aforementioned entertainers, for $100,000,000 (Samsung Seeks To Buy Sinking Tidal As Two More Executives Depart From The Struggling Company In The Face Of Mounting Lawsuits).

The Judiciary Report exposed the so-called deal as a bad buy, citing the numerous liabilities that exist, such as ripping off artists who have signed up with the service, mounting lawsuits and the fact the entertainers that own it have run the company into the ground, after buying it as Aspiro, then changing its practices and name to Tidal. Two days after the Judiciary Report's article, Samsung issued a statement regarding the item in the New York Post, claiming the company was interested in buying Tidal for $100,000,000. Samsung stated, "The rumor of Samsung acquiring Tidal is not true."

Rapper TI Signs With Jay Z And Madonna's Floundering Tidal As IRS Moves In To Seize His Assets Over $6,200,000 In Unpaid Taxes

TI and Tiny

Drug dealer turned rapper and reality star, TI, real name Clifford Harris, has just become the latest artist to sign with music streaming service, Tidal, owned by rapper Jay Z and pop singer, Madonna, among others. TI has also signed with Jay Z's floundering record label subsidiary, Roc Nation. The U.S. government, by way of the Internal Revenue Service (IRS), has just slapped T.I. with a third tax lien, bringing the grand total to $6,200,000.

Jay-Z

The IRS will now begin the seizure of TI's assets if he does not pay his outstanding tax bill. This means the rapper and his wife, singer and reality star, Tiny, real name Tameka Cottle, could lose their Georgia mansion, luxury cars and bank accounts. Serial adulterer, TI, has made enough money to pay his taxes. He has simply refused, opting to spend the money on luxuries to show off for the cameras on his reality show and social networking. If he continues to play games with the government, they will imprison him for tax fraud and tax evasion.

Rihanna and T.I. had an affair

As stated in the column previously, major record labels are not happy with the struggling music streaming service, Tidal, which has botched and killed the launch of major label releases. Tidal botched the latest album release by singer Rihanna ("Anti"), who had an extramarital affair with the aforementioned TI. Tidal also ruined the release of rapper Kanye West's ("The Life Of Pablo") via a deliberate leak in conduct labeled "costly" as the rapper lost $10,000,000. "The Life Of Pablo" is now a Tidal exclusive that has lost steam and relevance, damaging West's career.

Kanye West

Where industry leader Apple Music is working with record labels, Tidal is being selfish and greedy, in trying to save a failed business, at the expense of artists careers and industry averages in America. The music industry in America is in big trouble, sinking fast with record low sales. It doesn't help that Tidal is demanding loyalty from artists they've given dirty, illegal career favors in the past, in failed attempts at keeping a company going the public simply is not impressed with, in demanding they sacrifice their studio albums (and careers) as exclusives for Tidal. Major labels are furious with the stunt.

Samsung Buys 1,000,000 Copies Of Rihanna’s Flopped Album ‘Anti’ But Billboard Won’t Count It Nor Will It Make Her Money

Rihanna

Rihanna’s career has suffered three musical flops in a row. Fearful her “Anti” album would meet the same fate, it was leaked by Tidal and a deal was struck with electronics company Samsung to buy 1,000,000 copies for $1 each and give them to her fans for free. However, several problems have arisen from the deal.

Billboard charts is refusing to count the Samsung bought copies as sold, because as some are pointing out online it is cheating, as Rihanna did not sell said copies. The label Rihanna records for has lost a significant amount of money, as the album cost well above $1,000,000 to make. Coupled with its music videos and additional costs, that’s a good $3,000,000 in debt. Then there are other fees such as taxes, publishing rights and management fees.

The album also contains several infringing songs and videos as well that will cost her and the label serious domestic and international legal fees. In short, the album is hemorrhaging money. To sum it all up, an album, had they done it right and lawfully, not stealing from people and being subjected to a boycott, took three years to make and is costing everyone money, when it could have made $30,000,000. The entire project is still very much in red. Not to mention, the reviews are horrible and justly so.

Drake's Team Call Jay Z A Liar For Blaming Apple Music And A $20,000,000 Lawsuit For Not Being Able To Stream Concert Performance On Failed Tidal

Drake at Apple Music streaming launch

Toronto rapper, Drake, real name Aubry Graham, has slammed rival Jay Z as a liar for falsely accusing Apple Music of blocking his failed company Tidal from streaming a concert performance. Jay Z, peeved at the failure of his music streaming company Tidal and the launch of rival Apple Music streaming, which has finished it off, went online referring to the company as "Big Brother."

Jay Z's Tidal tried to cause problems in public view, stating on their website regarding Drake, who is the face of Apple Music streaming, "Apple is interfering with artistry and will not allow this artist to stream. Sorry for Big Brother's inconvenience. We will be back after the performance." Jay Z was trying to turn the public against Drake and Apple Music, but it failed, much like his company Tidal.

Drake's manager came forward and stated he is the one that blocked the streaming as a business decision and Jay Z is lying about Apple and the $20,000,000 lawsuit. Drake's manager, "Apple doesn't have the power to stop us from being part of a live stream. The decision to not have Drake participate in the Tidal stream has nothing to do with Apple or Drake's deal. Point blank, 100%. I made a business decision."

He is correct. Jay Z is a sniveling thief, fraud and liar, who is constantly being sued for theft and financial fraud (Jay Z Slammed For Copyright Infringement In Stealing And Desecrating The Music Of Egyptian Music Legend For His Song ‘Big Pimpin’ and Jay Z And Court Judge Slammed In Trademark Infringement Case For Inappropriate Conduct That Has Become Common In Corrupted Hollywood Lawsuits).

Jay-Z

Jay Z sought to circumvent Drake's $19,000,000 deal with Apple Music streaming and was shutdown by his management. Hollywood lacks loyalty and a sense of fair play. It would have spit in Apple's face had Drake's team allowed Tidal to stream his performance on their rival service, after the company was gracious enough to pay him $19,000,000 to promote their music streaming company. That would have been bad form and poor business judgment.

Jay Z and Tidal have been sued by Cash Money Records for streaming a live performance of their artist Lil Wayne, violating the company's copyrights and exclusive artist rights. This is a pattern of misbehavior with Jay Z, who is currently in court having been sued a number of times for financial fraud and intellectual property theft.

Lazy Jay Z is always looking to steal or leech off other people's hard work and finances. Jay Z fancies himself a businessman, when he couldn't even pronounce the word "entrepreneur" in a television interview and has people writing his speeches, released statements and telling him what to say in interviews, as he simply does not have the intelligence to back up his arrogant boasts.

In actuality Jay Z is a violent, murderous, thieving criminal, blamed for killing his own brother, was also found guilty of stabbing a music executive, has beat up innocent people and sent thugs to physically attack others in the industry he insanely deems rivals. It says a lot about Hollywood that a criminal like Jay Z has been able to steal and beat his way into fame and fortune, living off money and laurels he stole from others.

Jay Z Accused Of Threatening And Trying To Physically Attack A Journalist Who Asked Him About The Failure Of His Tidal Music Streaming Company

Jay-Z

The Crazy Days And Nights blog has accused violent, vicious, thieving rapper, Jay Z, who has previously committed murder, of threatening and trying to attack a journalist, who asked him about the state of his failed music streaming company Tidal. The Crazy Days And Nights blog stated Jay Z had to be restrained from physically attacking the journalist. Tidal has been a touchy subject for Jay Z, who has lashed out in the press as he helplessly watched the upstart company flounder and fail.

Not long after, the introduction of Apple Music's top of the line music streaming service crushed Tidal, sending the company tanking in absolute failure. It is deserved, as Tidal is a massive rip off of the music streaming website Spotify. When Tidal was launched, Spotify balked at the arrival of their rip off. Now they are unbothered by its collapse, having outlived their greedy clone that attempted to price gouge the public, who wasn't buying it...literally.

This successful roll out has crushed Apple's competition, Tidal, which never truly got off the ground as it is an expensive rip off of Spotify, bringing nothing new to the marketplace. Tidal Loses Three More Executives

Music Streaming Revenue Killers Companies Such As Apple Music Need To Be Mindful Of Regarding Sales

Drake at the launch of Apple Music streaming

The launch of Apple Music streaming service has given the music industry in America hope for new sales at a time revenues have hit record lows in the United States. Apple Music is an exciting new venture and one worth checking out. However, the Judiciary Report would be remiss if it did not state, until You tube is reined in, sales of music streaming will not be what it could be.

Drake

Without going into too many specifics, thousands of popular songs have been unlawfully uploaded to You Tube. There exists software that facilitates easy ripping and conversion of said songs, negating the need to buy music. Millions in sales are being lost in this manner. Music is also being streamed for free on You Tube.

50 Cent Explains Why Tidal Is a Flop

June 4, 2015 - Rapper 50 Cent is the latest musician to speak out against Jay Z’s $9.99-per-month artist-owned music-streaming service, Tidal. Jay Z debuted Tidal in March 2015 with a star-studded line up of superstars like Usher, Rihanna, Nicki Minaj, Madonna, Kanye West, Daft Punk, Arcade Fire, Beyoncé, Deadmau5 and many others. 50 Cent was asked his thoughts on the new over hyped music streaming service at an interview with Los Angeles radio station REAL 92.3, During the interview 50 Cent Explains

Why Tidal Is a Flop. And it makes perfect sense.

“They probably could’ve did something more exciting if they reached out, because the people you saw there don’t even own the rights to their music,” ..."So they can’t say it’s gonna come out of Tidal. It has to go everywhere.”...“Why would you actually buy Tidal to get something that would be everywhere else?” ...

Essentially, 50 Cent is saying dont pay $9.99 a month for music that will be available elsewhere for free, such as competitor music streaming service like, iTunes, Pandora, and Spotify. Death Cab for Cutie singer and one half of electronic duo The Postal Service Ben Gibbard told The Daily Beast in April: I think they totally blew it by bringing out a bunch of millionaires and billionaires and propping them up onstage and then having them all complain about not being paid. That’s why this thing is going to fail miserably. -Ben Gibbard

If anything, it seems like Tidal will drive more people back to pirated sites and torrent sites to download music for free. Up and coming EDM artists and DJs (not yet millionaires) will be the ones to suffer as a result, Will Tidal end up setting emerging artists back?

MAJOR MUSICIANS BLAST TIDAL: 'This thing is going to fail miserably'

Apr. 23, 2015, 2:18 PM 80,292 39 - Jay Z's $9.99-per-month artist-owned streaming music service, Tidal, launched last month with a star-studded presentation and the promise to “forever change the course of music history.”

Usher, Rihanna, Nicki Minaj, Madonna, Kanye West, Daft Punk, Arcade Fire, Beyoncé, and many others all showed up to support the world's first streaming platform owned by musicians, which will pay established musicians for playing their songs. But many notable artists who weren't on stage that day are now publicly speaking out about the ridiculous display of riches.

"I think they totally blew it by bringing out a bunch of millionaires and billionaires and propping them up onstage and then having them all complain about not being paid," Death Cab for Cutie singer Ben Gibbard said in a recent interview with The Daily Beast. "That’s why this thing is going to fail miserably." ...

Instead, Gibbard says Jay Z should have taken a different approach. "If I had been Jay Z, I would have brought out ten artists that were underground or independent and said, 'These are the people who are struggling to make a living in today’s music industry. Whereas this competitor streaming site pays this person 15 cents for X amount of streams, that same amount of streams on my site, on Tidal, will pay that artist this much.'"

Gibbard continued: "There was a wonderful opportunity squandered to highlight what this service would mean for artists who are struggling and to make a plea to people’s hearts and pocketbooks to pay a little more for this service that was going to pay these artists a more reasonable streaming rate. And they didn’t do it."

Tidal's Chief Investment Officer, Vania Schlogel, disputes the claims, telling Business Insider: "Indie artists are paid less than their major label counterparts across the board – it’s been an industry standard for years. They’re paid at 55% royalty rate, versus major label artists at 60%. We pay all artists not only at the same rate, but a higher rate – the highest in the industry at 62.5%."...

But while A-listers from Madonna to Rihanna were asked personally by Jay Z to join Tidal, many big musicians were left off the rapper's hit list, including Grammy-winning British indie rock band Mumford & Sons. The band's front man, Marcus Mumford, told The Daily Beast in a separate interview earlier this month: "We wouldn’t have joined it anyway, even if they had asked. We don’t want to be tribal."

"We just want to play music, and I don’t want to align myself with Spotify, Beats, Tidal, or whatever," Mumford explained. "We want people to listen to our music in their most comfortable way, and if they’re not up for paying for it, I don’t really care."...

Tidal's Point Break Jay Z’s music service has new apps, concert tickets, and a lot to prove

Jay Z called me. It was just after 3PM on a Tuesday afternoon in mid-May — right after I’d attended his B-Sides concert in New York, and about a week into researching his Tidal music service. A few minutes before Jay called, I got a call from someone at Roc Nation telling me he wanted to have a chat. And I… tried to reschedule. I told Jay Z’s people I couldn’t talk right now. And then hung up.

What Jay Z didn’t know is that I was running late for a haircut. I had just come off a flight, and my hair was looking rough. It was time to make a life decision: talk to Jay Z — rap legend, musical icon, one half of the closest thing we have to an American Royal Family — and look busted, or get a fresh cut and risk passing up a conversation with Shawn Carter himself.

You don’t know how fast you can find a contact in your phone until it really matters. "Jay Z sounds just like you would expect Jay Z to sound" I called Roc Nation back, asked them to ignore my initial display of insanity, and eventually found myself discussing Tidal with Jay Z.

Jay Z sounds just like you would expect Jay Z to sound: relaxed, confident, and contemplative — his words don’t feel calculated, but they’re also not off the cuff. Then there’s his laugh — that infamous, full-throated laugh. When we touch on a topic he’s passionate about, like Tidal, he comes to life, expounding on the subject.

Jay wouldn’t go on the record when we spoke, insisting that my story was about Tidal, not about him. And in a sense he’s right. This story is about Tidal: its rocky launch and its perhaps quixotic attempt at charting a new path in an industry undergoing massive change. But it’s also about Jay Z, one of music’s most entrepreneurial spirits, trying to resolve the inherent tension between technology and music...

Schlogel admits that the launch — internally referred to as "the 30th" — could have been handled better. When I asked her if she would do it again the same way, she just says "no."

"I just did not anticipate that within 48 hours people would jump in so quickly and tell this story for us as if it’s gospel. That was so fast." The plan had been to launch with the mission statement and then launch each new feature individually with some fanfare, but Tidal hadn’t counted on the speed of internet judgment.

"We weren’t even given a month of our own actions to tell the story," Schlogel says, somewhat pensively. "Had we known at the time — had I known at the time — yeah, we would have filled that void more with our own words and then backed it up with actions. But at the time, we just thought, okay we’re going to back it up with action and that would be enough."

Launch disaster aside, Tidal pushed forward, introducing a trio of features over the course of April. Tidal X, a concert series and live-streaming platform that showcases established artists to subscribers, was announced on April 10th. Jack White, J. Cole, and Jay Z have all held concerts under the Tidal X banner, the last of which was viewed over 100,000 times during the live stream. Not huge numbers, but Tidal insists it’s beating expectations. But it’s Tidal Discovery and Rising that hint most directly at the company’s ultimate ambitions...

Drake Ditched Jay Z And Madonna's Tidal For $19,000,000 From Apple iTunes

Beyonce, Jay Z and Drake

Drake must be really ticked off about being kissed by Madonna, after looking like it made him throw up in his mouth (being kissed by a snake with venom will do that), because the day before it was launched, he ditched Tidal, the company she co-owns with rapper Jay Z. Tidal is now a flop, which has caused Jay Z to repeatedly lash out in public. Tidal has damaged the careers of all the artists involved with the company.

Jay-Z

Drake is now laughing all the way to the bank. Music outlets are report Drake accepted a $19,000,000 deal from Apple to front their iTunes music streaming service. Whereas, if Drake had invested in Tidal, he'd been on the hook for a lot of money right now. Looks like Drake wins this one.

Jay Z And Company Overvalued Tidal In Violation Of SEC Rules

Usher, Rihanna, Nicki Minaj, Madonna, Dead5Amu, Kanye West, Jay Z and J Cole (also known as Hollywood's self-professed "Illuminati")

The SEC rules of trade in America states it is illegal to overvalue a company. It misleads the public and potential investors, who could lose their shirts. Rapper Jay Z and Madonna, both U.S. citizens doing business in America, have been greatly overvaluing their failing music streaming company Tidal, in violation of SEC rules. As stated in the column yesterday, Jay Z greatly overvalued former company Rocafella, claiming it was worth $125,000,000 but had to admit the truth when a business newspaper exposed its true worth at $25,000,000.

Jay Z stated Tidal has 57,000 subscriptions. Each subscription is between $9.99 to $19.99. He has been lashing out against people bashing the company and not supporting it. However, if he indeed had 67,000 subscriptions, the company would not be in the financial trouble it is in with the CEO and nearly two dozen executives running for the exit last month. $670,000 to $1,340,000 per month in revenue. Over the course of one year that would be $8,040,000 to $16,080,000 in revenue per year. That would not be a company in distress. Jay Z just told on himself.

Jay Z And Madonna's Failing Tidal Music Service Is Hemorrhaging Money While Inadvertently Increasing Rival Spotify's Revenues

Many have labeled the new fee based music streaming service Tidal a rip off of Spotify. So imagine the irony that Spotify's sales have increased as Tidal launched and promptly crashed and burned. Tidal sent Spotify up the Apple app charts. Jay Z, Beyonce, Madonna, Rihanna and other recording artists in the so-called, self-labeled Hollywood "Illuminati" thought Tidal would make them billionaires. In actuality, they are in the hole as the service tanks.

The aforementioned artists bought Tidal for $54,000,000 and roped in investors, who are watching as their money goes up in smoke. Service costs and staff salaries are in the millions. The CEO has already been fired after the barely launched venture descended into a financial fiasco.

Tidal climbed into the US iPhone top 20 download chart briefly following the event, but has since crashed out of the top 700. It doesn't seem to have taken down its rivals with it either. On 20 April, Pandora and Spotify occupied the number three and four positions - marking the first time two music streaming apps have placed in the top 4 simultaneously and knocking down the world-conquering Candy Crush in the process...
