Mariah Carey's '#1 To Infinity' Album Being Branded Biggest Chart Flop Of The Year

After a rough stretch of bad publicity and scandal, Mariah Carey's "#1 To Infinity" album was released and flopped on the Billboard charts. Some are branding it the biggest mainstream album flop of the year thus far, debuting with 32,000 copies sold. This constitutes Carey's lowest sales debut to date. Carey wants to be out there so badly, though she is not in a state to do so, as evidenced by her disastrous Las Vegas residency. This eagerness to be on the music scene with new material, combined with bad publicity online, is proving detrimental to career's career.

Carey has released commercially and critically failed albums back to back. First "Elusive Chanteuse" and now "#1 To Infinity" (Mariah Carey And Nick Cannon Headed For Divorce After He Does Interview About His Sexual Conquests). This is not a good idea for a mainstream artist. Carey should have taken time off to get things in order. Quality over quantity. The late Whitney Houston, who is truthfully the best selling female artist of all time, did not release an album until she felt she had gotten it right.

Chris Brown's "X" studio CD released this week is projected to sell 120,000 copies in its first week of release. The CD is battling Barbara Streisand's latest effort. On its current sales course, "X" will be a modest success, taking more time than industry experts expected to go gold.

The single "Loyal" created a lot of attention for the CD that suffered from delays and several release dates that originally did not pan out, due to Brown's legal troubles and his former manager withholding the hard drive containing all the singer's music, after she was fired.

"Loyal" became a big hit and went platinum, selling over 1,000,000 copies, which in this day and age is a lot for a single. However, Sony waited too long to release the CD "X" after "Loyal" became a hit and sales are lower than what was expected. Another problem that may have contributed to lower sales is Brown mass unfollowing all his fans on Twitter and Instagram. Some vowed to not buy "X" upon its release.

18-year-old Canadian pop star, Justin Bieber, has taken the number one spot on the Billboard charts with his new CD "Believe." He knocks Usher from the number one spot, with his album "Looking 4 Myself" (if you can’t find yourself at age 33, dude you've got problems).

Bieber’s sophomore CD has debuted as a success, but the coming weeks will determine if it is a bonafide hit. It’s more than just how an album starts, but also how it finishes its run on the charts. The next couple months will decide.

Justin Bieber's young fans have bought enough copies of his new CD "Believe" for it to debut at #1 on the Billboard charts next week. Music critics aren't impressed with the album, but his fan base is, giving him the sales boost he needs to nab the top spot. 

Bieber is currently on tour in support of the album. Recently, influential G20 heads of state met in Mexico for a political summit. However, the Judiciary Report being the insightful site it is knows better and is convinced the G20 Summit was just an excuse for world leaders to attend the free Bieber concert in Mexico (you guys aren't fooling anyone, I know you are "Beliebers"). However, Bieber has sold many singles, thanks to digital sales from downloading outlets such as iTunes. Recently, Usher began living vicariously through Bieber in trying to recapture his youth. Does Usher want to pull Bieber's hair out and does Bieber want slap Usher across the face using one of Michael Jackson's old sequined gloves, in a tender and delicate, yet angry way.
