Law Firm Is Suing Over Miss Colombia Losing The Crown In Live On Air Pageant Mix Up

The crown being removed from Miss Colombia and placed on Miss Philippines. Both contestants handled the sad situation well.

A law firm in Colombia has announced their intention of suing the Miss Universe pageant, after a mix up ended in tears for their nation's contestant. In what is being blamed on a teleprompter error, host Steve Harvey, announced that Miss Colombia, Ariadna Gutierrez, had won the pageant. Shortly after, Harvey stepped forward and apologized stating the actual winner is Miss Philippines, Pia Wurtzbach. The crown was removed from Miss Colombia's head and place on Miss Philippines.

Miss Philippines and Miss Colombia

The law firm contends, "The crown is an acquired right that cannot be taken away from us." The problem with the lawsuit is it was revealed yesterday by big mouth blogger Perez Hilton, who slammed Miss Colombia in an unnecessarily rant about her translator, that the judges had chosen Miss Philippines.

Lawsuit filed against Miss Universe Pageant

Posted 11:45 AM, December 22, 2015 – A Colombian law firm says two of their attorney’s are filing a lawsuit, saying “the crown is an acquired right that cannot be taken away from us.” Sunday night, Host Steve Harvey mistakenly announced “Miss Colombia” as the winner, and then corrected himself two minutes later, saying Miss Philippines was the rightful winner.

Two days later, there are still claims that Miss Columbia should have won. There is even a petition gaining steam online, with more than 30,000 signatures. Perez Hilton, one of the judges, had this to say about the mess: “Losing is the best thing that has happened to Miss Colombia, so in one sense, she truly is the winner.

Although as a judge and looking at everything that happened, I see her posting on Instagram saying she is the true winner. There’s a reason — many reasons — why she didn’t win. Congratulations to Miss Philippines,” said Hilton...

Social Networking Teases Steve Harvey As His Massive Blunder In Crowning The Wrong Miss Universe Is Blamed On Teleprompter (Videos)

Steve Harvey announces the wrong Miss Universe:

Actor/comedian Steve Harvey, made a massive error in announcing the new Miss Universe at the pageant this past Sunday in Las Vegas. Harvey stated the new Miss Universe is Miss Colombia, Ariadna Gutierrez, when the winner was actually Miss Philippines, Pia Wurtzbach. In an awkward scene, live on air, the crown was removed from Miss Colombia's head and placed on Miss Philippines.

Steve Harvey blames mix up on the teleprompter:

It has made the news all over the world and has become the source of intense laughter on social networking. Harvey later apologized to Miss Philippines for the blunder he blamed on the teleprompter. Harvey revealed the teleprompter stated Miss Colombia, but the paper he was given stated Miss Philippines.

Miss Germany's reaction is being heavily criticized on Twitter:

People online are crying foul, stating the incident is a cruel publicity stunt, as U.S. presidential candidate, Donald Trump owns the Miss Universe pageant and had a global scandal with the previous contest (Global Backlash As Miss Jamaica Places 5th In The Miss Universe Pageant). Some believe the incident was orchestrated for ratings at the expense of Harvey, Miss Philippines and Miss Colombia.

Miss Colombia crying after crown removed from her head and flowers taken back

Then another controversy erupted online when Miss Germany, Sarah Lorraine, made comments in a video interview about Miss Philippines that were slammed all over social networking. Miss Germany began to trend on the social networking website Twitter for all the wrong reasons, as people lashed out at her comments.

Steve Harvey realizing the error of having crowned the wrong woman

Photos also emerged of poor Miss Colombia devastated and crying. It is understandable under the circumstances, as that was a traumatic shock to sustain. However, she needs to spin this thing into gold, by getting commercials that spoof or poke fun at what happened at the pageant. I also feel sorry for Miss Philippines, as her moment was somewhat ruined.

Steve Harvey's apology on Twitter:

It was a sad mix up, but it is better to laugh at it than cry. Here are some of the funnier tweets on Twitter about the pageant:

Miss Germany's controversial reaction to Miss Universe 2015 [FULL TRANSCRIPT]

Published on Dec 21, 2015 - In an unexpected and surprising turn of events, Miss Germany has expressed discontent and disgust at the results of the recently concluded Miss Universe 2015. She has surprisingly thrown shade at Miss Philippines' win after expressing that none of the contestants have supported Miss Philippines win. See full transcript.

__start__

Miss Germany, of course, you were participating in this event. What was your reaction when you saw that Ms Colombia was the Miss Universe, and then all of a sudden, they said it was a mistake and she was not Miss Universe anymore?

Ms Germany: I couldn’t believe it. I was so upset. For me, Miss France was the real winner. I was very happy for Colombia. Actually she really deserves it(Miss Colombia), but I’m really not happy with the result and so were the other girls. I’m sorry to say that.

You, and all the candidates, went to Miss Colombia directly. When you saw they were taking the crown from her, why did you go to Miss Colombia instead of going to congratulate Miss Philippines?
Ms Germany: Because none of us voted for Philippines. I’m sorry to say that.

Can you elaborate on that?

Ms Germany: No, I don’t want to elaborate on that. But we really like Colombia and we’re really happy for her. I just can’t stop my emotions right now. I’m really not happy with the results. I wish Pia the best in life and career. But I’m really not happy with the results.

What have you done if that would have happened to you (what happened to Miss Colombia)?

Ms Germany: Well, that’s probably like the most, like, awful situation ever and ever. Like that’s not fair. You get crowned Miss Universe…like there are so many things…that you need to take away the crown. I’m so sorry for her. That’s probably the first that ever and ever happened in her life. Well, I would handle the situation properly. You have the crown, like, be proud, to represent my country and I’m proud. Best crown.

Thank you so much. What is your name?

Ms Germany: Sarah Lorraine.

Entertainers And Athletes Who Have Been Robbed By Financial Advisers And Managers And How To Avoid The Same

Manny Pacquiao

Many entertainers and athletes have been robbed by their financial advisors and managers. This has occurred for various reasons. Sometimes navigating the waters of fame and fortune for the inexperienced, proves too much, so they rely on others, who sometimes turn out to be untrustworthy and unethical. Entertainers and athletes need to be aware of the pitfalls when choosing representation regarding their finances. There are many sharks in the industry who will take advantage of you if they can.

Beloved Filipino boxer, Manny Pacquiao was ripped off by his accountant/financial advisor. Money was stolen and the boxing star’s taxes not paid, putting him in a difficult predicament. The truth came out when his accountant died of a stroke and all the paperwork he hid from Pacquiao revealed the discrepancies in how the star's finances were improperly handled. Pacquiao has since earned millions more from recent fights.

Billy Joel

Superstar singer and gifted musician, Billy Joel, responsible for some of the biggest pop hits of the past 30-years, was robbed by his brother-in-law, who acted as a financial manager. Joel’s brother-in-law stole $15,000,000 the star has not recovered to this day. In speaking about the incident during an interview, one can sense the hurt Joel feels that someone close to him betraying him in this manner.

Steve Harvey

Well-know comedian and talk show host, Steve Harvey, lost millions of dollars when his financial advisor ripped him off and left him owing a massive amount of money in back taxes to the U.S. Internal Revenue Service. His adviser failed to submit tax payments for years and pilfered Harvey's funds as well. Harvey had to greatly increase his workload for a significant period of time to pay the back taxes owed to the government, in a debt that has now been settled.

Jerry Supiran

Former child star, Jerry Supiran, 40, made many appearances on hit shows in the 1980s and early 1990s. He is most famous for his role as Jamie on the 1980s hit sitcom “Small Wonder.” However, a Supiran states a former advisor and a stripper he dated ripped him off, stealing $500,000 of his money. This sent Supiran’s finances into disarray. He tried to find work and was employed as a waiter before the restaurant closed down. In 2012, Supiran ended up homeless. The Judiciary Report has repeatedly warned against dating/marrying promiscuous people and gold diggers. They have bankrupted many people.

Gary Coleman

Former child star and actor, the late Gary Coleman, made millions starring on the 1980’s sitcom “Different Strokes” and via related deals. The hit show led to many financial opportunities. However, Coleman’s adoptive parents, as well as a gay Michael Jackson impersonator he began living with, stole his millions. Coleman ended up bankrupt and very bitter. He went from being a top star on television to a security guard in a discount store, where a lady harassed him, resulting in a physical altercation and arrest.

Grace Jones

Legendary model/singer/actress, Grace Jones, ended up bankrupt after her accountant made off with millions of dollars she’d earned in her career. The money was not recovered. Jones began working again, earning more money from various projects. Jones later married a wealthy Englishman and now lives in Britain.

Many entertainers and athletes do not have degrees but there are a few basics that can help keep you on the road to financial freedom and economic stability:

Do not give anyone power of attorney over your finances, as this will grant them the right to spend and move your money around as they see fit. Power of attorney grants them the right to take out small or large, in your name. Power of attorney grants them the right to purchase homes and cars in your name, as well as take out lines of credit and credit cards.

Be in control of your finances. Sign your own checks to pay bills and to cover other expenses.

Do not give others credit cards/debit cards on your major bank accounts. It is one thing to have a small household account with money in it to pay utility bills, buy groceries, pay the gardener ect. Assigning a debit/bank card on a small account such as this to a parent or spouse to pay household bills is fine (with a limited overdraft). However, the bulk of your money should be in secured, government backed bank accounts that are not accessible to others.

Buy a house, even a small one, when the financial opportunity presents itself. Buying is better than renting, as that's putting money back into your pocket via home ownership. You can rent a room in the property to someone you know or apply with the local government to add a one bedroom/one bathroom flat/efficiency/in-law quarters in the backyard or onto the home and rent it each month. The rent from a decent flat/efficiency/in-law quarters can pay your mortgage every month over cover 50-70% of it.

Do not overspend. You do not need a million cars and a million pieces of jewelry. You do not need to try to keep up with the Jones or give off a public appearance of great wealth when your bank account reflects otherwise. Live within your means.

Do not overextend yourself. Buying houses, cars and jewelry beyond your financial means and not factoring in additional costs such as real estate taxes, property maintenance and insurance costs can result in foreclosure and property repossession.

Discipline yourself to check the balance on your bank accounts on a regular basis. You can check your balances every few days or weekly. It is your money and financial future. You can take some time out of your day to check what is transpiring with your bank accounts to ensure no identity theft, theft or overpayments have occurred. You'd be surprised how many entertainers and athletes don't know how much money they have and are surprised to find out they are either being robbed, overcharged or taken advantage of.

Go into the bank and talk to them about your finances if there is anything you are unsure of regarding what your accountant and financial advisers are doing in your name.

Learn to save money in government insured savings accounts. You do not have to spend everything you earn every time you get a paycheck. It is inadvisable. Learn to put something aside in a savings account(s).

Put aside money from your paychecks for taxes as well. Speak to a qualified accountant and the government tax collection bureau of your country to find out the tax bracket you fall in regarding the percentage of your income you owe in taxes. Don't hide it from them, as they'll find out anyway. Double check with the government what percent of your income you owe, to verify your accountant is paying the correct amount to the government and not skimming/stealing any of the money, claiming the entire figure went to taxes.

Which brings me to my next point - pay your taxes. World governments will take your possessions and assign penalties in financial fines and interest if you do not remit the money owed. Anyone telling you that you do not have to pay taxes or proposing a tax avoidance scheme to you is sorely misinformed or straight out lying. The government will find out and it will cost you more in financial penalties than you originally owed for trying to dodge paying your taxes in whole or part.

Avoid risky investments. There are risky financial investments that claim you will become rich overnight, but it is often not so. If it was that easy everyone would do it. Think about that. Do your research before you invest. As the phrase goes, if it sounds too good to be true, it probably is.

Watch out for opportunistic people, both men and women, only after you for your fame and burgeoning bank account. You don't have to be mean to them, just make a mental note of what they are truly like and protect your finances and name, not to mention your heart. Some people have been badly betrayed by people they thought they could trust. At the end of the day, you have to shake it off and move on, realizing some people will tell you (and others) anything you want to hear to get money out of you or use you as a stepping stone to fame and fortune. Learn to be a good judge of character. People who truly care about you won’t want anything from you other than your time.

It's not the best idea to let people know exactly how much money you have to your name. Some, not all people, will become envious and start scheming on ways to get it. Some people will even plan robberies or try to blackmail you. Some women will entrap you with pregnancies in trying to ensure a paycheck until the child is an adult. Others will try to borrow large sums of money and take the position that you funds and they don’t need to repay you when promised or at all. You have nothing to prove to anyone in telling the world exactly how much money you have, as in the past it has proven a risk for many people.

Try to start a small business. A good business can support you for the rest of your life, beyond your career in entertainment and sports. Do not spend too much money on this endeavor, especially if it will place you in a financially precarious situation regarding your other financial obligations. Do your research. Seek sound legal and business advice. Compare prices for goods and services that are quoted to you, via online searches and asking around.

When signing contracts, make sure you understand what you are signing. Do not sign your financial life away on any document. If you do not understand something that is written in the contract, do not be afraid to ask, even voicing your question in writing to create a paper trail. So if anyone tries anything in the future or tries to claim something other than what you agreed to, you can present the written statements requesting clarification, necessitating the other party to respond in writing and save their answer for future reference.

The Mother Of Dwyane Wade's New Baby Boy In Line To Receive $50,000 Per Month In Child Support Checks

Dwyane Wade and Gabrielle Union

Aja Metoyer, the mother of Miami Heat star Dwyane Wade's 2-month old son, Xavier, stated she is not a gold digger, referring to herself as a university educated business woman. However, Metoyer's failure to use birth control is going to net her over $50,000 per month in child support payments for what could be the next 18-years. That's at least $600,000 per year.

Child support payments in states like California are assessed based on the parent's income and assets. Under this premise, the child is to live in the same manner and financial level as its wealthy parent. It is done as a provision to ensure the best financial quality of life for the child.

Dwyane Wade and Gabrielle Union as he proposed at Christmas. Wade was married to Siohvaughn Funches. Union was married to football player Chris Howard, but things like him "leaving the toilet seat up" led to divorce (run Dwyane, run).

For example, rapper Nas was hit with $40,000 in child support payments to then soon-to-be ex-wife singer, Kelis. It was later increased to $51,000 per month, infuriating the rapper. Nas went to a judge and had it decreased, as his income has declined and he is heavily in debt to the IRS (owes millions in back taxes to the government). Nas' monthly payment was halved. However, for a time Nas was forking over $51,000 per month to Kelis.

Wade's net worth is said to be $150,000,000, which far exceeds that of Nas. Metoyer, who lives in California, is in line to see payments that could exceed that of the $51,000 per month Kelis was receiving, once the case is properly processed in Los Angeles Superior Court. Therefore, it gives the appearance Metoyer was after Wade's money to get knocked up and so soon.

Aja Metoyer is mad at the press and public for calling her a gold digger

Nonetheless, money oriented Gabrielle Union, the fiancée of Wade (in a forthcoming union destined for disaster and divorce, pardon the pun) is not happy about the money Wade is going to have to shell out. He is already paying $25,000 per month to his ex-wife, Siohvaughn Funches, in Chicago, Illinois, in alimony payments.

Sounds like Wade trusted Metoyer too much. Truthfully, one can't completely trust people whilst dating, allowing them to handle birth control, as you don't know what they truly want from you. Some will see you as a chance to collect a big child support check every month. Some will see an unplanned pregnancy as a way to force someone into marriage or moving into your place, at the least. If one is going to engage in sex outside of marriage, one runs the risk of unplanned pregnancies and STDs, both costly in different ways.

Dwyane Wade: I've got to pay her how much?!

Aja Metoyer bitterly slammed Wade on Twitter over their failed relationship that resulted in pregnancy. However, she needs to be mindful of what she states online as she has a son, who in a few short years can log onto the internet and read various cutting comments she made about his dad. Women should not poison their children's minds against their dads, as that hurts and damages the child as well.

Side Bar: I remember years ago during a stand up comedy routine, comedian turned talk show host and author, Steve Harvey, joked about hearing that his child support payments would be $5,000 per month. He questioned why an infant would need that much money stating, "Why? Is my baby on crack."

Steve Harvey's Ex-Wife Thrown In Jail For Christmas Over Violating Gag Order (Video)

Mary Harvey, the ex-wife of actor/comedian/talk show host, Steve Harvey, was thrown in jail on December 19, 2013 and spent Christmas behind bars, for violating a gag order in their custody battle. Mary participated in You Tube videos that disparaged Harvey and violated the gag order placed on their custody dispute.

Steve Harvey and Mary Harvey years ago during their marriage

Mary was embittered over the fact Harvey divorced her and remarried. Out of spite, she has lied to the public in the past about the comedian, stating Harvey left her with nothing, when he'd given her multiple homes and ample cash to maintain a very comfortable lifestyle.

The most recent leak has to do with the former couple's son, Wynton Harvey. In 2008, Steve disciplined his son with a belt, after he was caught lying to his teacher at school. It left welts on the boy's behind and the back of his thighs. Texas Department of Family and Protective Services were called, they investigated and dismissed the case, stating the boy is "not at risk."

Mary stated to the press from jail, "I’m tired of getting pulled down to McKinney courthouse every time I say ‘Boo.’ I’m not going to be silenced." Her statements can be construed as an admission of guilt, regarding violating the gag order.

Living by faith gives on the ability to reach their full potential, as you will operate under the credo that "anything is possible" as said and shown by the Lord. When you believe the sky is the limit, it expands your mind to achieve more, as you are without limits on how much you can accomplish. Having faith, is better than despair, as hope is a vital part of life that keeps ups going and in a good frame of mind.
