Music Legend Aretha Franklin Gives Candid And Unintentionally Humorous Opinion Of Contemporary Singers Taylor Swift And Nicki Minaj (Video)

Music legend Aretha Franklin is known for being the voice of a generation, as her voice set the soundtrack to many classic songs during the history changing civil rights era in America. She is officially "The Queen Of Soul" due to her extraordinary voice, poise and social relevance throughout the decades. Many consider Aretha the greatest female vocalist of all time.

Aretha Franklin tried to be diplomatic

"The Insider" television show decided to ask Franklin to give her opinion on select contemporary singers and the answers were unintentionally funny. First of all, they were wrong to ask a singing legend about entertainers, who are not known as exceptional vocalists, as no good could possibly come from this without turning the music legend into a liar (LOL). "The Insider" should have asked Franklin which singers she thinks is the most promising, not run down a list by name.

Nicki Minaj

In a touching moment, she referred to the late, great Whitney Houston as a true talent. That is so true. Over the years there were so many times I could not believe the quality and magnitude of the voice coming out of Houston's mouth. She was a phenomenal talent. However, when asked about Taylor Swift, Franklin responded, "Okay. Great gowns, beautiful gowns" and regarding Nicki Minaj, known for her butt, the music legend stated, "Hmm. I’m gonna pass on that one." The video, posted above, has people in stitches. The moral of the story is don't ask people questions you don't want answers to!

Degrading NWA Biopic Casting Call Reveals The Prejudices Within The Black Community

Members of NWA and the cast and crew of forthcoming biopic "Straight Outta Compton"

Recently, a horrible casting call went out for women to appear in the forthcoming biopic "Straight Outta Compton" about the California rap group NWA. The ignorant, self-hating descriptions in the casting call left many people offended. It is as follows:

A GIRLS: These are the hottest of the hottest. Models. MUST have real hair — no extensions, very classy looking, great bodies. You can be black, white, asian, hispanic, mid eastern, or mixed race too. Age 18-30.”

“B GIRLS: These are fine girls, long natural hair, really nice bodies. Small waists, nice hips. You should be light-skinned. Beyonce is a prototype here. Age 18-30.”

“C GIRLS: These are African American girls, medium to light skinned with a weave. Age 18-30.”

“D GIRLS: These are African American girls. Poor, not in good shape. Medium to dark skin tone. Character types. Age 18-30.”

When I was a teen, I read an article in an African American magazine about the term "colorstruck." It is in reference to some, not all, black people, who glorify light skin and curly hair and disparage dark skin and kinky hair. At its root are ignorant stereotypes and prejudices within the black community worldwide, held by some, not all black people.

What's ironic is black people who believe light skin is better than dark skin and curly hair is better than kinky hair are deluded and self-hating. Any black person, I don't care how mixed the individual is, who lives or has ever lived had ancestors with very dark skin and kinky hair. Anyone with even a drop of black blood in them had such ancestors. It's sad that men and women, who come from a long line of black women are engaging in this self-hate.

Recently, I ordered an electronic skincare product for hair removal. The telephone representative, who was white, talked about different skin tones best for the product and described Halle Berry, Alicia Keys and Rihanna as "dark" people the product would work on, when most black people deem them light. He wasn't being prejudice, but to him, a white man, they are dark (some white people are "porcelain" hued). Yet in the black community, there are ignorant prejudices regarding light and dark skinned blacks, when at the end of the day, light or dark, black is black.

Recently, I was looking at the fashion line of a black man and everyone of his models for every fashion campaign, both male and female, were mixed race or white. Not a single dark skinned black man or woman. This is ironic as the person behind the fashion line is not mixed, but a dark skinned man with African features. Yet, here he is repeatedly sending out the message that he worships mixed race and white looks, while denying and disregarding people of his own dark skin tone. Not to mention, he only dates mixed race women, who almost look white or white women. He doesn't like women who look like him in skin tone or facial features.

I have nothing against interracial dating. I would date and marry a person of another race. Though I am black, if it weren't for interracial marriage, I wouldn't be here, as many of my ancestors are of different races (three of my great-great grandfathers are white European males and one of my great-grandfathers was a Portuguese Indian man, among others).  However, at the same time, I respect, appreciate and promote every race, including my own, via my columns and other work I have written and copyrighted.

People need to learn to respect and appreciate every look. For example, women such as Halle Berry, Lupita Nyong'o, Megan Fox, Gisele Bundchen, Tamron Hall and Jessica White are all beautiful and cover every color/skin tone spectrum.

Rochelle Riley: N.W.A. casting call defining beauty backfires, reveals ugly side of Hollywood

12:54 PM, July 22, 2014  - There are still grown-ups who believe in Santa Claus and the Easter Bunny. They’re the same people who believe that violent, sexist rap music and blood- and murder-filled video games have absolutely no effect on kids. But let’s not talk about all kids for a second. Let’s talk just about the girls, especially young black girls. And let’s consider a Hollywood casting call that has caused outrage in circles across the country — because definitions of beauty affect kids, too.

A Los Angeles agency issued a call for Universal Picture’s upcoming “Straight Outta Compton,” the most anticipated rap film since “Eight Mile” and next to John Singleton’s upcoming “Tupac” biopic. “Compton” will recount the rise and roils of the rap group N.W.A. (look it up), whose members included the film’s producers Dr. Dre and Ice Cube.

Slated for an August 2015 release, the film has begun production. But the recent casting call for women broke my heart. It asked them to send in photos and information in four categories that you have to read for yourself:

■ “A GIRLS: These are the hottest of the hottest. Models. MUST have real hair — no extensions, very classy looking, great bodies. You can be black, white, asian, hispanic, mid eastern, or mixed race too. Age 18-30.”

■ “B GIRLS: These are fine girls, long natural hair, really nice bodies. Small waists, nice hips. You should be light-skinned. Beyonce is a prototype here. Age 18-30.”

■ “C GIRLS: These are African American girls, medium to light skinned with a weave. Age 18-30.”

■ “D GIRLS: These are African American girls. Poor, not in good shape. Medium to dark skin tone. Character types. Age 18-30.”

I read it and shuddered. I ached for those young women who would eagerly read the directions, then try to find themselves in those descriptions. I wondered, near tears, how girls who placed themselves in the D category would feel. I couldn’t decide whom to be madder at — Universal Pictures and the casting agency, which both have since apologized, or Ice Cube himself...

You see, I never liked Ice Cube. I didn’t listen to gangsta rap. Ice Cube was not a part of my world until he co-starred in John Singleton’s “Boyz in the Hood” and showed me he was capable of so much more than what I knew...

Usher And Alicia Keys Shared More Than Just A Song And One Of Them Is Looking For Seconds

Usher and Alicia Keys years ago on the video set for "My Boo" in more ways than one

Years ago, singers Usher and labelmate Alicia Keys, released an R&B song called "My Boo." People thought it was just about the music. However, the Judiciary Report was just informed that the chemistry between the two extended outside the recording studio and there was something going on between them.

It was real

Usher is known for being a playboy, who cheated before and during his marriage to former stylist Tameka Foster. Alicia Keys is known for liking unavailable men, after destroying the marriage of singer Mashonda and marrying her husband Swizz Beats. The two now have a child together. I was informed, now that Usher is single again, he's been looking at Alicia again, who is still married. Usher needs to leave that one alone.

Beyonce's Rushed Super Bowl Press Conference To Sing The Anthem Being Slammed Online By Audiences

Beyonce Knowles

In response to the severe criticism she has faced, singer Beyonce Knowles, who marred President Obama's second inauguration via engaging in the unprecedented act of lip-syncing the National Anthem of the United States at the swearing in, called a rush press conference regarding her Super Bowl performance.

The bizarre press conference featured Knowles arrogantly stating she is a perfectionist, along with the confession she did indeed lip-sync at Obama's inauguration. However, a perfectionist would practice until they got it right - not cheated. Knowles also sang a lackluster version of the anthem, in an effort to show she can sing it, but as with her 2004 Super Bowl performance of the Star Spangled Banner, her voice was flat with a horn sounding tone.

Beyonce Knowles and Barack Obama

The performance did not assuage angry Obama supporters and other patriots, who are angry with her deception at the historic, high profile event. Her performance was met with insults online such as "too late" along with other expletives such as "b****" expressing people's contempt. The incident caused the administration embarrassment, forcing it to distance itself from the scandal, stating the White House did not know Knowles was going to lip-sync the anthem.

Knowles singing the anthem at the Super Bowl press conference in an attempt to prove a point was also selfish. It takes away from the person actually scheduled to sing the anthem - Alicia Keys. More spotlight hogging on Knowles' part, something she has repeatedly done since her Destinys Child days.

Alicia Keys Husband Is Listed As CEO Of Megaupload Yet He Was Not Arrested By The Feds Like Everyone Else

Alicia Keys and Swizz Beatz

As many internet readers know, Megaupload.com was raided by the U.S. FBI, assets were seized and employees taken into custody. The owner of Megaupload.com is eccentric Kim Schmitz, also known as Kim Dotcom. However, the husband of Sony Music singer, Alicia Keys, rapper and producer, Swizz Beatz (Kasseem Dean) is listed as CEO of the company that makes $175,000,000 per year from mass criminal copyright infringement. Amazingly Dean was not arrested, but far be it from the FBI to do such a thing to a star.

Swizz Beatz and Alicia Keys

While the Judiciary Report does not agree with copyright infringement, especially as the owner of a vast Copyrighted Catalog, I find it quite hypocritical Hollywood was all in a huff over Megaupload, when tinseltown criminally steals more copyrights than any other entity in existence. So basically, what Hollywood is complaining about and pushed the FBI to do something regarding, is Megaupload criminally infringing the copyrights Hollywood criminally stole from other people.

Alicia Keys Weds Producer Swizz Beatz

After wrecking the marriage of vocalist, Mashonda, via adultery with producer, Swizz Beatz, singer Alicia Keys, married him in France this past weekend, in front of family and friends.

The bride, who is 6-months pregnant, carrying the producer's unborn child, was keen to steal and wed Beatz and now she has gotten her wish. How long it will last, remains to be seen. Why Keys went this route is anyone's guess, but it certainly wasn't the right one.

Alicia Keys Playing House With Swizz Beatz

Alicia Keys and Swizz Beatz

After breaking up his family, Sony Music R&B singer, Alicia Keys, has moved in with producer, Swizz Beatz, real name, Kasseem Dean. According to the Real Estalker, the two have bought a multi-million dollar penthouse in Manhattan, whilst Keys put her Long Island, New York mansion on the market.

Alicia Keys $3,000,000 home in Muttontown, New York has been put on the market

Keys, real name, Alicia Cook, is six months pregnant with Beatz's baby. The two plan to marry soon and decided to splurge on real estate, in spite of the fact he owes the U.S. Internal Revenue Service over $2,000,000 in unpaid taxes.

Alicia Keys purchased this $12,000,000 home in New York city from singer Lenny Kravitz

With Beatz in financial straits and making alimony and child support payments for three children, by three other women, one his ex-wife, Mashonda, it is clear Alicia has been footing the bill for their luxurious lifestyle.

Keys once remarked she is frugal and wishes to remain in a modest Queens, New York condo. However, shortly after, she plunged headfirst into lavish living, with two multi-million dollar properties in a row.

Swizz Beatz and family, before Alicia Keys broke them up. Wife Mashonda is on the left, who said of Keys "this is my husband, this is my family, this girl thinks she can just do anything she thinks she wants to."

In other news, Alicia Keys, has dropped her manager of 10-years, Jeff Robinson of MBK Entertainment, in favor of having Beatz manage her, which can only lead to trouble under the circumstances.

Mashonda Believed In Alicia Keys, Before She Took Swizz

Date: 07/14/10 - "I believed her before," Mashonda says before admitting that she has given up on fighting Keys. "I'm being f******g disrespected, nobody respects me, this is my husband, this is my family, this girl thinks she can just do anything she thinks she wants to. And that's what I dealt with for a while, until I gave up."

..."I still like her songs. She's head over heels in love and I get it. Every woman deserves to feel that, not at the expense of another woman though," she tells VIBE. "But I understand why some of the decisions were made on her part, because her heart was so in it. I can't fight that [and] I can't fight her because she’s a household name. People are always going to love her for her music, as they should. She makes great music, but no one is really ever going to understand what happened in this house. Bottom line, the rule is, if you're messing with somebody, you don't know they're married, and you found out they're married if you come into any contact with that wife, leave it alone… respect the woman, respect the wife. Like I said before, it was an ego thing for me."

The Judiciary Report Called It - Alicia Keys Busts Her Butt

Alicia Keys

The Judiciary Report article titled "Alicia Keys Flaunting Her Pregnancy" dated July 1, 2010, was prophetic, as the site stated Keys is, "5 seconds from busting her butt." I told her she was going to bust her butt. 3 days later, Keys did just that, falling on her butt, while performing at the Essence Music Festival on Sunday, July 4, 2010.

At this stage in her pregnancy, she needs to take time off. She can afford to, unlike many working moms. She is endangering the life of her baby leaping around on stage in this manner. It is not worth your child's life or yours.

Video of pregnant Alicia Keys falling on stage

You also risk injury to the child via an unexpected fall. You need to go home, put your feet up and rest. Leave the airplanes, airports, hotels, sound checks and concert stages alone. Your child takes precedence over the stage.

Another thing Alicia needs to do - ask Jesus for forgiveness for committing adultery and breaking up a marriage in the process. Swizz Beatz belonged to his former wife, Mashonda, not you. You will face trouble due to it in this life. God will punish you for it, but for your soul's sake, ask for forgiveness and He will forgive you.

Alicia Keys Flaunting Her Pregnancy

Alicia Keys

Sony singer, Alicia Keys, who stole producer, Swizz Beatz, from his wife, fellow singer Mashonda, has been flaunting her pregnancy that occurred during the adulterous affair. Keys, who is six months pregnant, put on quite a display at the B.E.T. Awards this past weekend.

Somebody please tell me what she is doing on that piano! The baby must be thinking an earthquake is happening.

Flashdance anyone!

5 seconds from busting her butt

Oh wait, she's giving birth now!

Swizz Beatz divorce has just become final, along with word the IRS is nipping at his heels, for over $2,000,000 in unpaid taxes. Keys and Beatz plan to wed shortly. The Judiciary Report doesn't believe the marriage will work out.

Pregnant Adulteress Alicia Keys Parading Around With Married Man

Alicia Keys and Swizz Beatz

4-month pregnant Sony Music R&B singer and home wrecker, Alicia Keys, has been parading around with married producer, Swizz Beatz, who is the father of her unborn child.

He left his wife, singer, Mashonda, who is the mother of his child, to be with the famous singer. Originally, both Keys and Beatz lied about their relationship, denying one even existed, when many saw them in industry circles canoodling together and looking very much like an item.

Sony Singers Putting Their Worst Foot Forward

Sony singers have been putting their worst foot forward recently, going out in public looking disheveled and weathered. A number of websites have been commenting on them.

Alicia Keys Outed For Stealing Music

video link

A video blogger, Alcove, has outed Sony singer and songwriter, Alicia Keys, for stealing music and melodies from 1970s musicians. The clip on Youtube is pretty compelling, if you know the current songs in question, Alicia Keys penned for herself and others, such as Whitney Houston's "Million Dollar Bill."

As I stated last week, Houston's new album contains infringements, such as the song "Salute." Sony engaging in their usual thievery.

All this thievery is so unnecessary. All Keys had to do was license the music, but wanting all the glory, she stole it. It would have looked better than just taking it and pretending their music never existed and you just came up with it on your own.

I also noticed Keys poached "I Never Loved A Man (The Way I Love You)" by Aretha Franklin for her debut single "Fallin."
