Sexually Transmitted Diseases Are On The Rise In America Leading The CDC To Brand The Increase An Epidemic

On the day Hollywood actor Charlie Sheen announced he is HIV positive, the CDC (Center For Disease Control) in America announced sexually transmitted diseases (STDs) are on the rise in the United States, especially among gay men. However, if you are heterosexual, don't take that to mean you can be as promiscuous as you want and maintain your health. You are at risk as well if you engage in certain risky behaviors (promiscuity, sharing drug needles). People in America and around the world need to pay attention to their sexual health. Avoid poor and risky sexual choices.

The Judiciary Report has been stating for the past few years that STD rates are on the rise. Pop culture is apart of the problem, as promiscuity is being promoted in music, films, TV and online by Hollywood, entertainers and athletes. Websites like Ashley Madison, Grindr and Tinder promote promiscuity as well and it is driving up STD rates. People are being ridiculed on social networking for subscribing to the concept of a monogamous relationship. I've been on Twitter and Instagram and observed as people were mocked for wanting to or actually being in decent, faithful relationship.

Just because someone is in a faithful relationship, doesn't mean they are sexually boring or not having fun. Some of the most tame looking people on the outside and very wild behind closed doors. One of my friends and her husband appear very tame on the outside. However, they have a lot of kids and often make sexual jokes at dinner and parties that pretty much reveal they are freaky with each other. However, they are not promiscuous or unfaithful, yet still leading happy, healthy lives.

CDC: US sexually transmitted disease epidemic worsening

Nov 17, 12:25 PM EST - CHICAGO (AP) -- A U.S. sexually transmitted diseases epidemic is increasing and the most common infection, chlamydia, has risen to record levels, government officials say. Reported cases of chlamydia, gonorrhea and syphilis all increased in 2014. Chlamydia cases had dipped in 2013, but last year's total of more than 1.4 million - or 456 cases per 100,000 - was the highest number of annual cases of any condition ever reported to the federal Centers for Disease Control and Prevention. The chlamydia rate was up almost 3 percent from 2013, the CDC reported Tuesday.

Sexually transmitted diseases are among more than 70 diseases that are reportable to the CDC, including measles, chickenpox and tuberculosis. Flu is reported differently, by hospitalizations. "America's worsening STD epidemic is a clear call for better diagnosis, treatment, and prevention," said the CDC's Dr. Jonathan Mermin.

Gonorrhea cases totaled 350,062, up 5 percent from 2013, and the most contagious forms of syphilis jumped 15 percent to 20,000. As in previous years, the syphilis increase was mainly in gay and bisexual men. Most gonorrhea and chlamydia infections were in 15- to 24-year-olds, an ongoing trend. Both can cause infertility in women but can be treated with antibiotics. They often have no symptoms, and while yearly screening is recommended for sexually active women younger than 25, many don't get tested and infections go untreated, the CDC said.

Does The Botched Handling Of The Ebola Virus Outbreak In America Mean The CDC Will Have To Prepare For All Diseases

The Ebola virus outbreak in America is causing concern among the general public. Liberian tourist, Thomas Eric Duncan, is the first person to die of Ebola in America, after visiting family in Dallas, Texas. Two nurses that treated Duncan, Nina Pham and Amber Vison, have since tested positive for Ebola.

In the wake of the viral outbreak, the U.S. government, via the Center For Disease Control (CDC), has issued new guidelines for the handling of the Ebola virus in America. This medical emergency has made the public aware of the fact the CDC is not prepared for all diseases that can strike, which is dangerous.

The government has to get on the ball and prepare for every potential medical scenario that can strike America. It will save lives. Infectious disease is a serious problem that can kill rapidly. People are depending on the CDC in what is a monumental task and one they cannot fail at, as the price is too high.

The Ebola virus is nature gone out of control. The perfect balance has been disrupted. Illness and death is the result for thousands in Africa and Mr. Duncan, who passed on U.S. shores. An international medical body needs to pool global resources in addressing the Ebola crisis.

Doctor Ben Carson Slams Obama's Secrecy On The CDC's Handling Of The Ebola Outbreak

U.S. President Barack Obama has come under fire from brilliant neurosurgeon, Dr. Ben Carson, over his handling of the Ebola virus outbreak, as it pertains to the Center For Disease Control (CDC) in America. This is fresh on the heels of the CDC safety scandal, an item the Judiciary Report warned about for years (and though site stats reveal the U.S. Government read the Judiciary Report every single day and have for years, the warnings went unheeded until it ended up in Congress last month via an ugly scandal Congress Rips The CDC For Lax Safety Procedures That Led To Anthrax Exposure Confirming This Site's Previous Claims). 

Carson stated, "Certainly I’m a strong proponent of privacy of health care information, but you can certainly reveal that a patient has been tested and is negative to allay hysteria because when you have a situation where you're acting if a secretive manner, people have a tendency to assume the worst. So you have to be smart enough to weigh one thing against the other. You can't just sort of have blinders on and say ‘privacy, privacy, privacy’ and there's a riot going on outside. So, that's where wisdom comes in."

Carson also criticized Obamacare labeling it, "The worst thing since slavery." Carson further stated, "It is slavery because it aims to make all of us subservient to the government. It was never about health care. It was all about control." 

As the Judiciary Report has repeatedly stated in articles, America needs a health care program, but Obamacare has significant problems and they are not being address. Doctors all over America are complaining about Obamacare and turning patients away. Obamacare has a significant amount of paperwork attached to it for medical offices and if the documents are not completed or done correctly, the patient will not be allowed to see a doctor, as the physician will not be paid. There are also too many kickbacks and clauses in Obamacare and it will impact the national debt.


The President would do well to start listening to medical professionals like Ben Carson rather than insisting on his own way all the time when it comes to health care. President Obama is not a doctor nor is he a scientist. He is a lawyer.

When I was a kid Carson spoke at a school I attended, telling students about his life, the troubles he encountered from peer pressure and working his way to success. It was very inspiring. Over a decade after that speech, Carson, a skilled, innovative surgeon, also performed surgery on one of my family friends when she was a preteen (her initials are A.B.).

My friend felt ill and doctors discovered a growth in her brain, bordering the stem. Doctors in Miami stated there would be a 90 percent chance she would die on the operating table if she underwent surgery, as the growth was so embedded and in a very sensitive region of the brain.

Carson, who was out of state, heard about the medical emergency and was touched by the case. He offered to perform the risky surgery and for free. Last rites were administered before the surgery (that should let you know how bad her prognosis was at the time), as family and friends also prayed she would make it through the complicated surgery. I'm happy to report, over a decade later, my friend is alive and well and just graduated from law school. God still performs miracles.

Carson also defended his earlier position that American doctors who contracted Ebola should not have been brought to the US, arguing “our policies should be directed against [the] worst-case scenario, not [the] best-case scenario when we're talking about the health and well-being of the population of the United States.” He also stated he “would recommend to everybody that they gain some basic knowledge of Ebola. Do a little bit of reading. You'll discover this is a virus that generally is transmitted in bodily liquids.”

Congress Rips The CDC For Lax Safety Procedures That Led To Anthrax Exposure Confirming This Site's Previous Claims (Video)

Members of the U.S. Congress took turns ripping the Center For Disease Control (CDC) over their lax safety procedures, which lead to 84 employees, including scientists, being exposed to deadly anthrax. No fatalities have been reported, as employees were given medication to address the exposure.

Today, U.S. News And World Report stated, "A document released by the government on Monday after a follow-up investigation revealed that CDC laboratories violated crucial safety codes: keys were left in the locks of refrigerators containing anthrax, bacteria was being transported in Ziploc bags and workers were using expired disinfectants, according to Reuters."

Though the government, including the CDC, reads this website on a regular basis according to site stats, apparently they didn't take it to heart enough, as revelations about poor procedures and protocols at their main facility is a matter of concern. Considering they have the capability to accidentally wipeout the entire nation if something goes seriously wrong at their facility, they are going to have to do better than this.

Congress Confronts CDC About Recent Mishaps

The director of the Center of Disease Control stood before Congress on Wednesday to address the agency’s recent mishaps, including the mishandling of anthrax and avian influenza, which have pushed lawmakers over the edge after years of lab safety issues. 

Rep. Tim Murphy, R-Pa., chairman of a subcommittee of the House Committee on Energy and Commerce, called the anthrax incident “sloppy” and “inexcusable,” reported USA Today. In June, more than 80 CDC employees were potentially exposed to live anthrax bacteria when it was transferred to an ill-equipped lab.

84 Members Of Staff At The Center For Disease Control Exposed To Anthrax Confirming This Site's Previous Claims About Lab Safety

For years the Judiciary Report has repeatedly written science articles about lab safety and the danger the lack thereof poses to scientists and the world at large (May 20, 2010's Science Safety). The Judiciary Report has also repeatedly warned against certain science experiments, regarding allegedly inactive samples of deadly bacteria (January 24, 2012's Scientists Agree To Halt Super Swine Flu Trials After Government Outcry and September 23, 2009 Scientist Dies Of The Plague). On May 2, 2009, I was also the first to state the Swine Flu reboot was due to human error (see the "Related Articles" below for more original Judiciary Report science articles I wrote that later proved true).

This week, a crisis erupted as 75 scientists and 9 additional employees of the Center for Disease Control (CDC) in Atlanta, were accidentally exposed to anthrax, via a live sample, due to lax safety procedures and protocols. The incident occurred in a bioterrorism lab at the CDC. The employees are now being medically monitored. Select employees have been administered a course of antibiotics, while others were given the anthrax vaccine.

Anthrax exposure sparks new scrutiny over CDC safety

Jun 20, 2014 12:16 PM ET - The Centers for Disease Control and Prevention in Atlanta, Ga., says as many as 84 of its staff in Atlanta may have been accidentally exposed to dangerous anthrax bacteria. As many as 84 scientists and staff may have been exposed to live anthrax bacteria after researchers failed to follow safety procedures, the U.S. government said Friday.

The Centers for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC) announced Thursday that at least 75 people had been affected, prompting an investigation by federal authorities. CDC spokesman Benjamin Haynes said in an email on Friday that the number has increased to 84 potential exposures.

As of early Friday, 32 staff members were taking the powerful antibiotic ciprofloxacin, or Cipro, and 20 were taking another antibiotic called doxycycline, Haynes said in a statement.
CDC Anthrax  In addition, as many as 27 people were getting the anthrax vaccine to prevent infection. No illnesses have been reported, but the agency expects the number of possible exposures to rise as more people step forward now that news of the anthrax scare is public.

The safety breach, which originated in the CDC's bioterror lab, raised new concerns about the way laboratories around the world conduct research into the deadliest known pathogens, from anthrax to Ebola and avian flu. The CDC has already faced repeated scrutiny over security lapses and mechanical malfunctions at some of its labs dating back to at least 2007.
The CDC said it will cede control of the investigation to the U.S. Department of Agriculture "to avoid potential conflicts of interest." U.S. President Barack Obama was briefed on the matter on Friday by his homeland security and counterterrorism adviser, Lisa Monaco, the White House said. The incident also is drawing scrutiny from Congress about whether the CDC has the appropriate safety procedures in place to protect federal employees from contamination.

A week ago, on Friday the 13th, bioterrorism researchers at the CDC discovered they had mistakenly sent live anthrax bacteria out to fellow scientists in two lower-security clearance labs at the agency, instead of what they thought were harmless samples of the deadly pathogen.
