'R&B Divas LA Reunion Show Part 2' Brought Out More Secrets

Part 2 of the "R&B Divas LA" reunion show brought to light more secrets concerning cast members. For example, singer Michel'le revealed her ex-fiancé, rapper/producer, Dr. Dre used to beat her so badly that she had to cover the black eyes with make-up. Not cool Dre!

Kelly Price revealed she was repeatedly molested at age three by a female cousin, which is terrible. This maybe where some of Price's anger, bitterness and bullying stems from, as she has been mean to the other women on the show, gaining herself a bad reputation with the public.

The reality TV money is not worth the negative image Price is now owner of, which has put off the public. As much as I know about industry folks, I never realized Price was like this. It's a shame someone didn't talk to her early in the show's taping and tell her to pull that back, but this is who she is and it has not helped her.

Lil Mo, Chante Moore, Claudette Ortiz and Michel'le have gained so much from this reality show, including new fans, career opportunities and regenerated names. The Judiciary Report is happy for them as they are talented, beautiful women who have been through much and deserve good breaks.

However, seemingly overnight Kelly Price has destroyed a name she took twenty-years to build. Price wasn't broke when she did the show, due to songwriting royalties, but her name was not in the mainstream as it had been in the past during her time with Badboy Entertainment. This was not the best comeback.

Former En Vogue singer Dawn Robinson didn't fare as badly, but this show damaged her name as well, due to following Price and reportedly being kicked off the show for lying about her ex-husband, producer Dre Allen (Girl, you nearly got me and several other people sued). Reunion show host, Wendy Williams seemed to imply Robinson would not be returning for season two of the show.

However, the ladies are going on tour. Kelly Price, KeKe Wyatt and a few others are hitting the road. For the tour to be a hit, it will need Moore, Claudette Ortiz, Lil Mo, Michel'le, Faith and Angie Stone as well. "R&B Divas LA" is more popular than "R&B Divas Atlanta" so to have the tour mostly comprised of the latter won't bring the biggest financial return.

Part one of the "R&B Divas LA" reunion show aimed to clear up rumors surrounding its stars Chante Moore, Kelly Price, Lil Mo, Claudette Ortiz, Michel’le and Dawn Robinson. The latter was absent, which upset the other five cast members of the hit reality show. The reunion show was hosted by talk show host Wendy Williams, who didn‘t hold back.

There were a lot of questions about Kelly Price’s conduct towards the other cast members. Williams stated, "Kelly, I had no idea you were such a mean bully" and "Kelly is a mean girl!" Regrettably, Price portrayed herself in this manner. She blames her negative image on editing, but the Judiciary Report disagrees. Yes, editing can stitch people up, but not to this degree. Girl, that was you.

Moore exposed Price as a liar again, stating the idea for the monologues show, was not Kelly's but that of the producers and managers behind the reality show. Moore stated they'd met at the Savoy in Los Angeles and discussed it, "We had a meeting with management and producers" and they stated "Hey, this is our idea. Kelly we want you to be the helm of this." This is an item of note, as Price portrayed herself as the victim, whose idea Moore stole and hired a producer to put together, after Kelly kept missing rehearsals.

In the Judiciary Report article "Kelly Price'Heartbroken' Stating R&B Divas LA Edited To Make Her Look Like The Bad Guy" the site stated, "Everyone's time is valuable. To bring together five women with family and careers of their own, then repeatedly miss rehearsal as the project manager, is to waste their time and no one feels good when that happens to them." On the reunion show last night Price stated, "I did not take the ladies time for granted and never not show up some place." However, she did and owes them an apology.

Price stated her antics on the show, including bringing Timberlands, a straight edge razor and Vaseline to a rehearsal, symbols of an imminent fight in the hood, was done by her to create drama. Price stated the producers told her, "Turn it up or this gets shut down" so she brought drama to the show. However, the other cast members insist "no acting was involved." Lil Mo even offered, "Violence was unacceptable."

Williams put it all out there, basically telling Ortiz she is too pretty to have been almost homeless (there are pretty homeless people). However, she married for love. She could have married a rich industry millionaire she didn't love, but no one respects that. Ortiz's ex-husband didn't manage the money he made well and that was the problem.

Williams brought up the topic of rumors that Moore's ex-husband, singer Kenny Lattimore is gay. I've read that several times on other sites. Moore refused to answer stating "You should ask him." I'll take that as a yes. Why do some men marry women when they know they have sugar in their gas tank.

Side Bar: Someone on Twitter claiming to be Dawn Robinson's ex-husband, R&B singer/songwriter Dre Allen, used some of his few tweets to tweet me stating he is going to sue Robinson, TV One and me. Yea, I don‘t even know how I got dragged into this. All I did was write an article about him based on what Robinson accused him of on the show, broadcast by TV One and what Media Take Out wrote (Dawn Robinson Of EnVogue And R&B Divas LA Was AbusedBy Husband Who Was Bisexual). A number of other sites wrote far worse things than I did regarding him, yet I get singled out. Seems kind of personal (but I don't know him).

Robinson accused Allen of beating and cheating on her, siring three children outside of the marriage. Due to the fact I wrote about it based on Robinson’s words and a report on Media Take Out, in a Judiciary Report article sympathetic to Robinson, he wants to sue me as well. However, it’s not my story and under case law I’m indemnified from legal action for re-reporting something that was broadcast or published elsewhere. I will sue for damages if anyone takes me to court with no legitimate legal basis for doing so. I don’t joke around with that.

Singer Kelly Price is said to be devastated over the editing of her reality show "R&B Divas LA" revealing it has made her look bad to the public and she will quit the show. I think Price has a great voice and feel sympathy for her regarding the rough things she has been through in life, but how she interacted with fellow singer Chante Moore created this effect.

I grew up listening to Moore, who is a fabulous singer with a great sense of humor. She joined "R&B Divas LA" along with Prince, En Vogue's Dawn Robinson, Lil Mo, Claudette Ortiz of City High and Miche'le. All of the women came across well, until Price began missing rehearsals and her own charity event. The other women were left to fend for themselves in doing appearances and rehearsing for a show "Not Your Mama's Monologues" which Price pitched based on the famous Vagina Monologues play (Ok, first of all vagina should not speak LOL).

The play is based on the cast telling their personal stories about being women. However, due to the fact Price is busy she missed rehearsals and the production was having difficulty taking off. That's when Moore decided to hire a director to work with them while Price was busy. Price took offense and began showing her anger towards friend Moore for trying to help with the project while she was away.

Dawn Robinson stated, "I’ve just been praying with Kelly because her heart is broken over what she sees of herself [on the show]. You build up a career to a certain point, you fought and battled through that career to be heard and seen. People talked about her weight and all the different things, and now to have a reality show tear you down?"

Where Price went wrong was getting mad at the director, ordering him to leave the room when all he had done was work with the women in her absence. I felt bad for the guy, because he really didn't do anything wrong. All he did was show up for work. Lastly, bringing Timbalands, a straight edge razor and Vaseline to rehearsals was interpreted as a threat towards Moore, as explained on the show, as that indicates a street fight. That wasn't fair to Moore. She seemed excited to work and was just trying to help.

Everyone's time is valuable. To bring together five women with family and careers of their own, then repeatedly miss rehearsal as the project manager, is to waste their time and no one feels good when that happens to them. I can understand where both women are coming from, but at the end of the day, when you're friends, you work things out and you have to be mindful of each others' feelings.

Dawn Robinson Says Kelly Price’s ‘Heart is Broken’ Over TV Portrayal

August 14, 2013 - On the new TV One hit series "R&B Divas: LA," Kelly Price comes off a bit harsh and cold but her cast mate Dawn Robinson says she has feelings and is hurt by the image portrayed on the show...

"It’s like you come to everybody with an idea of your own, and then they just kick you out of the car and put someone else in place of who you have in mind. I think you’d be pretty pissed at that as well," said Dawn who defended Kelly’s desire to use the director that she originally wanted, despite Chante and Lil Mo working well with a new guy.

We still have to stay tuned to see how it all unfolds, but in April Dawn and Kelly performed a one-night only "Not Your Mama’s Monologues," that may suggest the ladies were unable to patch things up. "They want to show us fighting against each other. They want to show anger, the angry Black woman," said Dawn. That is not what I signed up for! I signed up for positivity."

Claudette Ortiz Of R&B Divas LA Was Raped

Claudette Ortiz has been through a lot. Previously she revealed she had become homeless for a time and now she shares she was raped.

Former City High lead singer, Claudette Ortiz, revealed last night on the third episode of the hit reality show "R&B Divas LA" that she was raped. The beautiful songstress did not go into detail about the incident, but a very sad look appeared on her face while mentioning it. Sorry that happened to her.

Rape is wrong. When a woman says no, she means no. Yet there are some in society, who believe women are playing hard to get, don't want to be labeled a slut and put up a fight rather than giving in to a man's advances and so they use force, also known as rape. That's a cruel thing to do to a woman, as sex is supposed to be a loving, personal and intimate act, not something one is forced into against one's will.

During the episode, Chante Moore also shared that the first time she had sex at 17, she felt she was "a child" and was "taken advantage of" by an older man. While holding back tears she indicated, she did not want to give him her virginity, so instead he took it. That was sad.

Losing one's virginity is supposed to be with the one you love. It's supposed to be special, memorable and wonderful. At least, that's how most females envision it will be and what they look for (flowers, music ect). No one has the right to take that from anyone. No one wants their virginity taken by force and or in a rough manner.

Despite having two big R&B hits with the group City High, touring and working with various artists such as Prince and Wyclef Jean, beautiful singer Claudette Ortiz became homeless, unable to properly provide for her three children. Years prior she had married fellow group member, Ryan Toby, but after 10-years of marriage it ended in divorce, for reasons she did not specify. Ortiz, who sought help from the state, spoke of the embarrassment of her case workers knowing her as a famous singer and wondering what she is doing on government assistance.

Ortiz told the website Bossip, ""When I [moved to LA] I had to move my children out of their school. It was a big move from East to West Coast and I had just left my four years of being at rock bottom. Four years of being ridiculed and scrutinized on the internet and four years of having to decide between one bill and the other and having to go to the social services building and you’re case worker recognizes you and says, "Why are you here?" It breaks you down so I was just coming out of that break down and rebuilding myself and trying to get back into the groove of being in spotlight and being in entertainment. That’s a sadness that I believe women do feel and it does show on your face, but you keep it moving, you don’t cry. You keep your head up and you keep going, even though you do have that consistent worry and heartbreak."

She further stated, "Prior to the show, I had really hit rock bottom and I was at a crossroads where I just had to [do the show]. All the little odd jobs that I was doing; I was a chef in the kitchen, I tried to open my own businesses, I had my catering businesses and I had a cleaning business but those things were not enough to raise my children. So, I had to make a choice of am I going to continue going this way? Where is this going? I was like man, I guess I’ll just go to the air force reserves. […] I felt like it would pay for school. I didn’t have any degree or anything so….I was having a rough night. I had to leave the place I was at, and I was driving with the things in my trunk and my kids were asleep and I had nowhere to go. And that night Phil Thorton from the show texted me but that night I was upset and I was crying. I was like "God, I know there are people out there that have it way worse than I have it but don’t forget about me. This is still difficult. That’s was when I got the text of like, do I go with the show or …. I never wanted to be apart of reality shows because I never wanted to expose my children on anything like that."

The Women Of R&B Divas L.A. Talk About Losing Their Virginity

This week, the women of the entertaining new reality show "R&B Divas L.A." discussed the first time they had sex with a man. The discussion took place over a birthday feast for singer Chante Moore, held at vocalist Kelly Price's house. People all over the internet are talking about the spread Price prepared and how they wish they had attended the dinner.

Moore stated she lost her virginity at age 17 to an older man in a sexual encounter she really did not want. She stated she expressed this to the man in question, but he kept insisting and went for it, which is not a cool thing to do when a woman is so clearly indicating no. It's one thing to keep asking, but quite another to help yourself.

Singer Lil Mo said she too lost her virginity at age 17, with the man calling her and stating she was to come by the following day to do the deed. She didn't sound too happy with what transpired, stating it was not what she expected. She expected flowers and music, but what she got was an emotionally cold and physically painful experience. Their honesty was refreshing, as that's not the message Hollywood likes to send.

Losing one's virginity is an important event in a woman's life (a man as well). A lot of women have stories regarding wishing they had waited to lose their virginity to their husband, as that's the point you know true love. Someone who commits to you should have the benefit of that.

 

However, that's not a message you will hear in the mainstream, as Hollywood is about sex, drugs and rock n' roll and as purveyors of pop culture, it is the lifestyle they push and portray to the public's detriment. Following this example is also why some women end up so emotionally damaged and devastated from bad relationships. You mean well, you're looking for love, but end up being sexually used by someone who is not on the same page. Sleeping with man after man will take it's toll as well (and vice versa).

Don't let anyone ridicule you for choosing to wait until you're married to have sex. It's a personal choice. It's your body and you can do with it what you wish. Don't allow yourself to be pressured into something you are not ready for that goes against personal beliefs and goals you've set for yourself. If someone loves you, they'd respect your wishes and commit to you.

Watching this week's episode of "R&B Divas LA" it's a bit sad to see what's happened to the marriages of actor Kadeem Hardison and singer Chante Moore, as well as that of Claudette Ortiz and Ryan Toby of the R&B trio City High. Moore and Ortiz are beautiful, talented women, who've enjoyed successful careers, but it is clear industry issues destroyed their marriages to men they love (and vice versa).

Ortiz is now raising her three children on her own, while Moore, who remarried (singer Kenny Latimore) is divorced again and is being sued by her ex-husband for custody of their son. Moore seems to prefer first husband Hardison and it's a shame things didn't work out between them, as they made a lovely couple. But when people are very young, they often don't realize what they have in love until they lose it.

Temptation also runs high in the industry and men often fall prey to it. There are women, who for some odd reason want to show off by trying to bed a beautiful, famous woman's husband or boyfriend, due to ego, subconsciously thinking it makes them more beautiful and famous by default (at least when scandal hits). Some women actually think like that and have wrecked other people's marriages and relationships in the process.

It's a bit sad now watching the aforementioned couples interact on the show, as their speech and body language indicates these former spouses still love each other. People, hold on to your marriages. Try to make them work. Compromise and forgive, as you may end up divorcing and regretting it.

This week the reality show "R&B Divas Atlanta" aired its spin off "R&B Divas L.A." with a stellar cast of music’s top females from the 1980s and 1990s. Watching the show brought back good memories from my childhood, as I grew up listening to singers Chante Moore, Dawn Robinson (En Vogue) and Michele.

Makes you fear for music today, when you remember the caliber of singers such as the aforementioned women, who have made their mark on soul music history. Current music largely lacks talent, lyrics are abysmal and nonsensical with tunes that lack rhythm and cadence.

The reality show updates audiences on the changes the women have been through, such as divorce, as industry marriages have a difficult time. Now they are attempting to restart their careers in a time where music is mostly about flash not substance or singing ability.

 

I didn’t know Chante and Michele were so funny. I cracked up laughing when Michele deadpanned, "That marriage to Suge Knight everyone thought was real then the IRS and FBI told me it wasn’t." You can tell she’s been through a lot. I always loved her song "Something In My Heart."

Wow, you were married to Suge Knight…and you weren’t scared? You know his ex-wife started dating a cop and found said officer dead in her driveway after a drive by, right? You are brave. Michele stated one guy who tried to date her never called back when he found out she has a child by Dr. Dre and another for Suge Knight (because really, who wants to be shot by the latter).

It was shocking to hear Dawn from En Vogue state the group didn’t make much money and at times their checks were "zero." En Vogue had crossed over with huge hits, but the industry is full of sharks and when they sense blood in the water they will pounce on your money.
