Movie Review: The Dark Knight Rises

Title: The Dark Knight Rises
Year Of Release: 2012
Review Date: February 28, 2013
Rating: R
Running time: 135 minutes
Box Office Gross: $1,081,041,287
Site Rating: 4 out of 10 stars

I did not like this film at all and largely due to the Colorado theatre massacre it inspired. "The Dark Knight Rises" is a dark, tedious film with a convoluted storyline. Bruce Wayne, also known as Batman, is again engaged in battle against those seeking to destroy him. This time around the villain is Bane, a masked madman determined to destroy Gotham City. This film dragged too much for my taste and is quite morbid.

Kim Kardashian Has A Krazy Komic Book Hitting The Shelves That Boasts About Her Life

Kim Kardashian

Superficial, dingbat reality star, Kim Kardashian, 31, has a comic book coming out following her vapid life. What a waste. I’m sick of these pop culture stars with comic books, as it is degrading and devaluing the genre, which is usually entertaining with interesting story telling.

Reality stars and pop singers having comic books made about them is cluttering the genre with foolishness that will not stand the test of time, as true pieces do. These aren't real comics. This is not what comic books were meant for, but vanity is prevailing over common sense. Who is buying this stuff anyway.

Hollywood Has A Gay Superhero Butt People Have Mixed Feelings About It

The gay Green Lantern. You know John Travolta is going to want a massage (Photo Credit: Getty)

Marvel Comics is turning the superhero Green Latern into a gay man. Butt the public has mixed feelings about it. The photo of the gay superhero on the TMZ site has people laughing more than anything. This indicates the public is not taking it seriously and making a joke out of the whole thing.

Is DC Comics trying to butter up the gays in Hollywood with this gesture. Will the comic be homogeneous. Lastly, exactly what is he going to save people from? Wearing the wrong shade of  hair highlights? Wearing last season's fashions?

Celluloid Film Review: Catwoman

Title: Catwoman

Year Of Release: 2004

Review Date: December 31, 2011

Rating: PG-13

Running time: 106 minutes

Box Office Gross: $82,102,379

Site Rating: 2 out of 10 stars

"Catwoman" starring Halle Berry and Sharon Stone was not the actresses' best work and it is due to the poor script, corny lines, bad directing and overall cheesy concept that did not live up to the comic. Warner Bros did a very poor job bringing this film to life, which led to critics everywhere pouncing on it.

Halle Berry stars as the lead Patience Phillips, a graphic artist who is shot and killed, then brought back to life by a cat. Hence the title "Catwoman." However, this film takes a detour into the occult and becomes, for lack of a better word, crazy. The lead character is into witchcraft and is possessed by a cat. Not the best message in the world.

The story line is weak, when it could have been so much better. The director failed this movie as well. He gave the actors bad direction. Not to mention, the lines are unusually catty and cliche:

Laurel Hedare: What do you want
Patience Phillisp: Your husband, is he home
Laurel Hedare: I’m here, why on earth would he be home...

Oprah Injures Wolverine

Not Quite...

Actor, Hugh Jackman, who plays "Wolverine" in the X-Men comic book film franchise, injured himself on the set of the Oprah Winfrey Show, which is filming on location in beautiful Australia. After dashingly sliding to the stage on a cable, Jackman's foot accidentally clipped a light, sending debris into one of his eyes. Thankfully, his vision and pretty face, has not been permanently affected.

Racism In The Tea Party

Tea Party comic featuring stereotypes and slurs, regarding black President, Barack Obama

Many Republicans have thrown their support behind the Tea Party movement that seeks to take America back. However, elements of ugly racism have crept into the cause and that serves no proper cause in the party.

A terrible, racist comic has been leaked, featuring an awful caricature of black U.S. President, Barack Obama, reminiscent of the ignorance and prejudice of the 1950s and 1960s. This does the Republican party no favors and should desist immediately, as it is patently offensive and unfunny.

You're not going to take America back with that. You're going to take the KKK back. America has over 40,000,000 black people and millions of other minorities. You think about that.

"Jonah Hex" Not Tracking Well

Megan Fox last year at the height of her "Transformers" fame

According to the Los Angeles Times, Megan Fox's forthcoming film, "Jonah Hex" is not tracking well and is expected to bomb this week. This news is another blow to Fox, who was recently fired from the "Transformers" franchise which made her career.

Megan Fox in "Jonah Hex"

Somewhere, Michael Bay, who was in love with Fox and had a private relationship with her, is laughing. Fox's first starring vehicle, the ill-fated "Jennifer's Body" bombed last year.

As stated several weeks ago, the Judiciary Report does not like the previews of "Jonah Hex" which comes across as a "Back To The Future 3" rip off. The clips look boring, but hey, some may like it.

'Toy Story 3' appears blessed, 'Jonah Hex' cursed

June 18, 2010 - Pixar's 3-D sequel could provide its first $100-million-plus weekend. But the Warner Bros. comic book adaptation looks like a costly misfire.

...Meanwhile, Warner Bros.' "Jonah Hex" looks cursed. The big-screen adaptation of the DC Comics series starring Josh Brolin and Megan Fox is not tracking well with audiences and will struggle to collect $10 million in its debut this weekend, according to people who have seen pre-release surveys. That's a poor start for a summer release.

Despite extensive reshoots, executives at Warner Bros. and its co-financing partner Legendary Pictures are privately acknowledging little faith in the prospects of the movie, which cost $47 million to produce. A "Jonah Hex" bomb would be a rare misfire for a movie based on a comic book...

Megan Fox At Comic Con

No, Not Short For Comic Con Artists

Actress Megan Fox made an appearance at Comic Con in San Diego this week. Once again, trying to be all things to all people, Megan claimed she loves comic books, which I highly doubt.

However, as a few mainstream journalists have pointed out, during the promotional campaign for this summer's Transformers movie sequel, Fox claimed she liked any and everything that was expedient and would make her more popular. People are tired of her mouth. Her only saving grace with audiences is her looks.
