PBS

PBS (Public Broadcasting Service) is a free channel in America that airs great programming on the arts, history and culture. It is also a channel of an educational nature. PBS regularly runs fundraising drives requesting public donations to keep the network afloat. It’s a shame that a channel that provides such a useful and beneficial service to the public is in need of funds.

The government wastes billions of dollars spying on Americans and foreign allies, while worthwhile causes such as PBS, have to ask the public for money to stay afloat. PBS should be given the money it needs by the government, as many young and old minds alike are being educated by the programming.

Dr. Peter Rhee, the Medical Director at University Medical Trauma Center in Tucson, Arizona, gave an in-depth interview to PBS News Hour, regarding the medical status of the victims in the Safeway Massacre. He spoke of the injuries U.S. Congresswoman, Gabrielle Giffords sustained, via a gunshot wound to the head. It has affected her speech, but she is able to communicate via squeezing the doctor's hand.

"College Inc" is a PBS Frontline documentary on the high cost of going to university in America. It was a real eye opener, regarding massive debt and the unfulfilled promises of employment, some universities make prospective students, who end up disillusioned and disappointed.

It is a multi-billion dollar industry that has helped some, but hurt others, due to backbreaking debt, insufficiently accredited degrees and training, which are rejected by some employers.

Many of all ages, agree to student loans and end up in over their heads, as the phrase goes, saddled with five to six figure debt before they find their first job after university.

A university degree is wonderful, but do read the fine print, before you financially commit to something you cannot afford that will equal the price of a house.

Weigh your options carefully to be certain the university you are choosing, fits your long term financial plans. If the total future debt will be too much, choose a less expensive university and make sure it is accredited.

Democrats Attempt To Ram Through Health Care Bill

U.S. President Barack Obama and some of his fellow Democrats, such as House Speaker, Nancy Pelosi, are attempting to ram through a bad health care bill, which contains a significant amount of unnecessary spending and dubious items, such as funding for abortions.

Republicans are more opposed to this bill than ever and slammed it in separate interviews. Tea Parties that consist of Americans protesting, have also come out against the bill. America needs a great health care plan, but this bill certainly is not it.
