Barack Obama And Congress Are Fighting Over The Debt Ceiling

Barack Obama

U.S. President Barack Obama has a new battle on his hands. Fresh off the fiscal cliff fight, the new battle concerns the debt ceiling. America is eyeball deep in debt, with select members of Congress fighting to keep the people's purse strings closed, due to mounting debt in the trillions. However, President Obama contends, America is not a "deadbeat" nations and pays its bills and in order to do so, the debt ceiling needs to be raised. Obama wants Congress to loosen the purse strings again. Round two, guys!

Fiscal Cliff Deal Reached In The Nick Of Time But Will It Work

Barack Obama

The U.S. Congress is attempting to start the New Year off with a deal on the fiscal cliff, regarding tax rates and government spending. America is severely in debt and nothing short of a complete committal to reversing the negative financial fortunes of the nation, will see the country back to prosperity.

President Obama and his Democrats, as well as their Republican rivals, are having a difficult time agreeing on a proper, dedicated plan that will restore balance to the U.S. economy. The Judiciary Report has consistently advocated a tax increase on the rich and budget cuts on the government. The Democrats are for the tax increase and the Republicans are for the budget cuts, both opposing the other on their proposals. It's a shame they can't do both as the Judiciary Report recommends.

Based on reports, a deal has been reached, but it is said the potential pact, which has to be voted on, does not include budget cuts, which are vital. As it stands, the government spends too much money on frivolities that need to go. Non-essential research grants for such items as watching bears (all you need to know is don't mess with them - research done), bloated expense accounts for government executives staying in the Four Seasons and flying around in private jets, to name a few, need to be axed from the budget (stay at the Holiday Inn like everyone else and go get your own ice). Seriously, the government is spending too much money, racking up massive debts, to the tune of $4 billion dollars per day. Some nations don't even make that much money in one year.

The current agreement is said to include a tax increase on the rich, which is good, as money is needed to pay the nation's bills (schools, teachers, county hospitals, policemen, firemen ect). Currently, Congress is set to vote on raising taxes on individuals making $450,000 and up per year, which is a healthy salary. If you make upwards of $450,000 per year, unless you have a cocaine problem or something, you can afford a measly 5% tax increase to help out to aid in getting the country out of the bind it is in. Really, who can't live on a couple hundred thousand dollars per year.

Congress

I must admit, my confidence level in Congress is not very high right now, as they've been going in circles for the past four years regarding the current financial crisis, which has wreaked havoc on America. Had they taken more prudent and expeditious measures years ago, things wouldn't have gotten to this very difficult juncture. They are the gatekeepers. The buck stops with Congress and they have no one to blame but themselves for letting things reach this point.

President Obama Leaves Hawaii Christmas Vacation Due To Fiscal Cliff Conflict

Obama: ya'll jacked up my vacation
U.S. President Barack Obama has cut short his annual Christmas vacation in Hawaii, to return to the White House in Washington, D.C. due to the fiscal cliff standoff. Obama's Democrats and rival Republicans are still squarely opposed to each other's ideas on the financial direction America should take.

As the year is winding down, so is time in this matter and it is concerning the corporate sector and citizens alike that no amicable solution that both parties can agree on has been reached. If the matter is not resolved before the New Year kicks in, changes will automatically go into effect that neither party agrees on.

Obama Rejects John Boehner's Proposal For Fiscal Cliff

John Boehner and Barack Obama

U.S. President Barack Obama has rejected the fiscal cliff proposal by leading Republican, John Boehner, with threats of a veto. Support for the proposal has not been strong enough for members of Congress to successfully vote and end the impasse. This is a real letdown at Christmas, as many hoped the issue would be resolved for the holidays.

John Boehner Attempting To Compromise With President Obama On Fiscal Cliff

John Boehner and Barack Obama

Leading Republican John Boehner is attempting to compromise with U.S. President Barack Obama on the fiscal cliff, by stating he is open to higher taxation on individuals earning more than one million dollars per year. As the Judiciary Report has maintained for years, a small tax increase on the rich, coupled with budget cuts, would go a far way in balancing America’s financial books. It is up to Obama and Congress at this point, but the more time they spend arguing is the worse the economic problems will be.

Congress And Obama Still Fail To Resolve Fiscal Cliff Issue Despite The Fact It Is The Holidays

Barack Obama

Things couldn't be too careful in the halls of Congress this Christmas, as President Obama, his fellow Democrats and rival Republicans continue to battle each other over the much ballyhooed "fiscal cliff." Not the best way to spend the Christmas season. As of today, neither side has made any concessions, continuing the stalemate.

Obama And Congress Get Nowhere On Fiscal Cliff Issue

Barack Obama

Earlier in the week, reports indicated "fiscal cliff" talks between President Obama, his Democrats and the Republican party had resumed and was making progress. However, things went off track again, much to the frustration of the watching public.

The government has not made significant strides in resolving the issue, as neither side refuses to budge unless they get what they want, which means moving in circles. Neither side is willing to bend on issues they rank the most pressing, leaving them at a stalemate that is not good for the economy. It has impacted the stock market and consumer confidence in a negative manner.

Barack Obama And Mitt Romney Do Lunch At The White House

Can You Say Awkward

Barack Obama and Mitt Romney, who probably wanted to choke him out over the election

This week, former presidential candidate, Mitt Romney, met with President Barack Obama for lunch at the White House, after what was an ugly election battle. That had to be awkward. Ironically, Romney is the man more qualified to tackle America's financial problems, with Obama still fighting Congress regarding the "fiscal cliff" while millions stand in the unemployment line.

Obama, Democrats And Republicans Still At An Impasse Over Fiscal Cliff

Barack Obama

President Barack Obama, his Democrats and rival Republicans are still locked in a standoff over the ‘fiscal cliff’ threatening the U.S. economy. Neither side is budging, which is not good. Time is going, so is the nation's competitiveness and financial standing in the world. The Judiciary Report doesn’t get paid by any party or world government for its opinions, though a certain administration started harassing the site into taking its side online (*looks at the Obama Administration* not gonna happen).

However, the site sticks to what it has stated these past four years during the financial crisis. Debt reduction, favored by the Republicans, is very important to getting the nation back on track, as is a (small) tax hike on the rich, now favored by the Democrats. If both sides can’t compromise and make that work, what can I tell you, other than you’ll be going the wrong way once again. You should be tired of that by now Washington.

Record Number Of Americans Demand States Secede From America Due To President Obama's Reelection

Barack Obama

Barack Obama's victory in the presidential election this month, has not unified America, but created more division and infighting than the nation has ever seen. Over 1,000,000 Americans have signed a petition on the White House's official website, demanding their states secede from the United States.

Barack Obama

President Obama's record spending in response to the worsening financial crisis has spurred the movement, which is reflecting badly on his presidency. Until Obama can legitimately show genuine financial improvement in the nation, he will continue to be viewed as a divider and not a uniter.

Obama Cabinet Members Ben Bernake And Timothy Geithner Encourage Congress To Address Fiscal Cliff

Even that turkey knows the economy has become a turkey due to unruly government spending

Federal Reserve Chief, Ben Bernake and Treasury Secretary, Timothy Geithner have been encouraging the U.S. Congress to address the "fiscal cliff" issue facing the nation. Democrats (President Obama included) and Republicans are arguing over the problem, with neither side making any real concessions.

President Obama's behavior when meeting Thai Prime Minister Yingluck Shinawatrav was described as flirtatious. It would be funny if Mrs. Obama beat both of them down. Go on home and get that butt whooping, Obama.

Both sides state they are willing to compromise, but neither  party seems to want to make any concessions. The national debt and job market in America are grim, taking unfavorable turns on a regular basis, while politics takes precedence over restoring the economy.

President Obama Asks Controversial Attorney General Eric Holder To Stay On As Head Of The DOJ Defying Congress

Barack Obama and Eric Holder

According to mainstream press reports, President Obama, has asked lawbreaking, corrupt Attorney General, Eric Holder, to remain at the Department of Justice (DOJ). This despite the fact, 120 members of Congress joined an initiative demanding Holder resign from the DOJ.

One has to wonder how serious Obama's claims of working with Congress on both sides of the aisles to fix the financial crisis and reduce national debt is, when he is publicly expressing confidence in a criminal, Holder, whose illegal conduct in the "Fast And Furious" scandal has resulted in the deaths of over a thousand people.
