Rising Gas Prices, Foreclosures And High Unemployment Are Posing A Threat To Obama's 2012 Presidential Campaign

Reports reveal rising foreclosures, gas prices and high unemployment are damaging U.S. President Barack Obama's reelection bid, as he is being blamed for the terrible financial state of the nation. Challenger Mitt Romney is faring better in the polls, due to his business background, which has made him the frontrunner in the election for the Republican nomination and presidency.

Obama's struggle with the economy and the visible ongoing financial deterioration is diminishing his bid for a second term. The economy is at another crucial juncture and the nation does not have four more years to give away to economic losses and undue financial hardships. The sense of urgency is sorely missing in the government.

Newt Gingrich, the former Speaker of the House, who left in disgrace, should leave the republican race for the the nomination to run against President Obama in the upcoming election. Gingrich is splitting the vote and prolonging the process, with his presence in a race that is not going his way in any measure.

Some members of the public and political pundits believe, Gingrich is remaining in the race for dubious reasons. Currently, the delegate count stands at Mitt Romney, 563, Rick Santorum, 263, Newt Gingrich 135 and Ron Paul, 50. A candidate needs 1144 to win the nomination. Romney is the clear favorite, but Santorum would have a lot more votes than he currently does if Gingrich were not in the race.

The U.S. gubernatorial races in New Jersey and Virginia, the latter already decided, with Republican Bob McDonnell emerging as the winner, and the former state holding a GOP lead, has made it clear, Obama’s presidential initiatives are hurting the Democratic Party, as stated two months ago. Obama also needs to think about the 2012 elections.

Yes, one wants to act with integrity and take the road one feels is the best course of action, but the public has been speaking and the White House has not been listening. Neither has Congress, which currently holds a Democratic majority. The current senatorial races is a rebuke from the American people.

Did Washington learn nothing from George W. Bush’s bad decisions as a politician. If you fail to listen to the people, you are going to have problems. This holds true in any world democracy.

The Republican Party relaunched its website today (www.gop.com). The conservative party is also known as the GOP (pronounced "GOP" as in the word "Lop" - just kidding, don't say that or you'll look stupid. GOP is an acronym for the words the "Grand Old Party").

Their website launch went about as smoothly as that of the unveiling of Michael Jackson's new single, "This Is It." But at least we know the GOP actually owns the item it launched (disdainfully looks at Sony).

However, something went wrong, rendering software bugs and glitches, that caused the page to display incorrectly. Let's hope it wasn't sabotaged by a hacker, as it is not the norm for such an expensive site, worked on by several techs, to perform in that manner.

WASHINGTON — The Republican Party launched a redesigned website Tuesday with a heavy emphasis on the social media tools that Democrat Barack Obama used so effectively to win the last presidential election.

Republican National Committee chairman Michael Steele said GOP.com, which stands for "Grand Old Party," the party's nickname, will "help Republicans compete in any race, in any state, at any time."

Obama relied heavily on the Internet during his presidential campaign for organizing, fundraising and communicating and has created MySpace, Facebook and Flickr pages and a Twitter feed since entering the White House.

The revamped GOP.com prominently features links on its home page to the Republican National Committee page on Facebook, its Twitter feed, its YouTube channel and its Flickr photo-sharing site.

"It takes advantage of various online tools to connect Republicans and concerned Americans across the country to each other and party leaders, creating a larger, more informed, more organized, and more energized Republican community," Steele said.

GOP.com also features a number of blogs including a main blog titled "Sound Reasoning."

A section on "Republican Heroes" provides brief biographies of Jackie Robinson, the first African-American to play Major League baseball, former presidents Ronald Reagan, Dwight Eisenhower and Abraham Lincoln and others...
