Floyd Mayweather and Manny Pacquiao
Boxer Manny Pacquiao has stated he expects a
statement from rival Floyd Mayweather by the end of the month,
regarding their highly anticipated fight. Speaking to the Manila
Standard newspaper, Pacquiao stated, "We
will make an announcement before the end of the month. I think it
will happen." Pacquiao is willing to take a smaller split
regarding profits, to ensure the fight happens. Mayweather has
stated regarding the fight, "We are ready.
Let's make it happen. May 2. Mayweather versus Manny Pacquiao. Let's
do it."
Amir Khan
Adding controversy to the situation is boxer Amir
Khan. Mayweather and Khan have been locked in a social networking
war of words for the past year. Khan recently
issued a May 2015 deadline to Mayweather, stating he wants to fight
him in the ring during said month,
"I want to fight in May and I want the Mayweather fight, but it's
not getting any closer. It's a waiting game, I've given his team
five days. I need to know this week because I need to start
training." However, Mayweather has shutdown the offer and
deadline, stating Khan's name "holds no weight." Ouch!
