A thief stole a $3,000 Rolex watch off the body of "Sopranos" actor James Gandolfini, who died while vacationing in Italy last month. Gandolfini collapsed in the bathroom of his suite at the Boscolo Exedra Hotel in Rome, suffering from a massive heart attack. Doctors pronounced him dead at a local hospital.
The New Jersey native's body was flown to New York for his funeral, held in Manhattan. Police currently have no solid leads regarding the individual responsible for pilfering the watch. Insurance documents revealed the watch was stolen during the frenzy that occurred in his hotel room when he died.
Hollywood hothead, Alec Baldwin went on a Twitter rampage after
reading that his pregnant wife Hilaria Baldwin tweeted during the New
York funeral of former "Sopranos" star James Gandolfini. His
wife denies the allegations.
The Daily Mail UK made the claim and he
went ballistic, "My wife and I attend a funeral to pay our
respects to an old friend, and some toxic Brit writes this f***ing
trash. I’m gonna find you, George Stark … and I’m gonna f***…you…up."
Shortly after making the criminal threat of violence against journo
George Stark, Baldwin shut down his Twitter account. Stark better be
careful. Alec is known for beating people down. He even berated his
beautiful daughter, calling her a, "Rude, thoughtless pig."
Hollywood actor James Gandolfini, famous for playing the
character "Tony Soprano" on the former HBO show "The Sopranos"
died yesterday in Rome, Italy of an apparent, massive heart attack. He was
51-years-old. Gandolfini is survived by his wife and two children. The actor
was in Italy to take part in the Taormina film festival, when he suddenly
passed away. More recently, Gandolfini appeared in the film "Zero Dark
Thirty" which I reviewed on the Celluloid Film Review site two weeks ago.
The controversial actor began slipping into his character
off-screen when he attacked a paparazzo, who took a photo of him while shopping
in public. Video footage of the incident went viral. Other outbursts followed,
which led some to believe he was having difficulty dealing with the fame that
came from the show.
The Sopranos
Galdolfini won awards for his portrayal of the brutal,
adulterous, fictitious mob boss Soprano, but it was not without significant
criticism. When the show premiered Italian-American groups such as Order Sons
of Italy (OSIA) denounced it as a negative, violent stereotype ridden portrayal
of their community. Groups petitioned to have "The Sopranos" removed
from the air, but were unsuccessful. At the end of the day, no one wants their
cultural group portrayed in a negative light.
