White House Gets Ruthless On Health Care

When The White House Attacks...

"Video: Massa: Dems targeted me over healthcare"

U.S. President Barack Obama and his Chief-of-Staff, Rahm Emanuel, have been getting down and dirty with people regarding the White House's health care bill, they want passed in Congress.

So much so, they have reportedly taken to engineering the demise of fellow Democrats, such as Rep. Eric Massa, who are hurting the vote count, regarding the legislation. New York governor and Democrat, David Patterson is under siege and pressured to resign, regarding his views as well.

U.S. President Barack Obama taking off the gloves

Yesterday, Massa slammed Obama and Rahm in particular, for dirty political tactics that forced him out of office under a barrage of threats, as he is a "no vote" on health care, threatening to tank the President's bill.

He is now alleging he was bullied into claiming cancer as the reason he is steeping down. Then, when that didn't work, a scandal mysteriously surfaced about the Congressman making sexual advances towards a male co-worker, which he denies. Republican Randy Kuhl stated the Democrats seek to drop the majority, in an effort to pass the President's health care bill.

New York Is Broke

New York

To show the terrible extremes America's finances have been mismanaged, what is arguably one of the richest states in the country, with high taxes is broke. The great state of New York, home to world famous New York City, is facing financial collapse.

Governor David A. Paterson "chastised" lawmakers for corruption and "spending the state into near-ruin." But this is indicative of a pattern present all over the country, as another rich state, California is broke as well. Some terrible winds of change have hit America, requiring great financial minds to navigate a path.

Paterson Says Legislators Put State in Danger

Published: January 6, 2010 - ALBANY - In a strikingly blunt State of the State address, Gov. David A. Paterson chastised the lawmakers seated before him on Wednesday, saying they had spent the state into near-ruin and stood by as a plague of political corruption destroyed New Yorkers' trust in their government.

Dispensing with the ritualized flattery that typically precedes the annual address, Mr. Paterson said that the Legislature's reluctance to make hard decisions and rein in its own excesses had plunged the state even deeper into crisis.

"You have left me and other governors no choice," Mr. Paterson, the former State Senate minority leader, said. "Whether it be by vetoes or delayed spending, I will not write bad checks, and we will not mortgage our children's future."…

New York is facing a fiscal crisis decades in the making and a $7 billion shortfall projected for the coming year. Last year, buoyed in part by federal stimulus aid, state officials increased total spending by nearly 9 percent, even as the economy faltered and revenues plummeted.

Michael Steele: Obama Is Racist

The head of the Republican Party, Michael Steele, has labeled U.S. President Barack Obama, a “racist” for allegedly asking legally blind, New York Governor, David Paterson, not to seek reelection.

Mr. Steele, with all due respect, have you been listening to the Rush Limbaugh show (grin). I do not believe Obama to be a racist for allegedly asking Patterson not to seek a second term. I do believe it has to do with the concern he will lose and cost the Democrats the definitive voice in New York.

President Obama to First Lady Michelle: this is for making me sleep on the couch last night.

However, even if he loses, I do not agree with the White House asking him not to seek another term, as he is the first black man in the post and should be allowed to prove himself, even if his poll numbers are dismal. This goes for any minority as the first representative of their race.

Additionally, a lawful incumbent should be given a chance to prove and or redeem himself or herself.

GOP chief hints racism involved in Obama, Paterson controversy

09.21.09 - It provided for some interesting TV watching yesterday...Appearing on Face the Nation on Sunday, Steele was asked for his thoughts on the report that the president has encouraged embattled New York Governor David Paterson to step aside from next year’s primary.

“I found it to be stunning that the White House would send word to one of only two black governors in the country not to run for re-election,” Steele replied.

“I think Governor Paterson’s numbers are about the same as [New Jersey] Governor Jon Corzine’s numbers yet … I don’t know if there’s been a request made of Governor Corzine to step down in New Jersey.”

Baffled, Schiefer blurted, “You don’t think he’s asked him not to run because he’s black?”

“I don’t think that, but look, you have so few [black governors],” Steele said. “Look, if you’re saying it’s the numbers then why isn’t there a call for those other Democrat governors who have low numbers as well.”

“It’s just a curiosity for me,” Steele said.

Many find it curious that Obama got involved in this at all. Paterson’ is struggling politically as it is. More than 70 percent of New Yorkers don’t want him to run again. Even non-white voters don’t support him...
