New Actress Cast As Aaliyah In Unauthorized Lifetime Biopic That Wendy Williams Is Now Executive Producing

Aaliyah

After an online uproar regarding the Lifetime network choosing Disney actress, Zendaya Coleman, to play the late singer, Aaliyah, in an unauthorized biopic that is upsetting her family, the channel has chosen a replacement. Coleman reportedly backed out after comments about her not being right for the role.

Alexandra Shipp

23-year-old actress Alexandra Shipp has been chosen to replace Zendaya in the role. Shipp had a supporting role in the movie “Alvin and the Chipmunks: The Squeakquel,” as well as parts on the soap opera "Days of Our Lives" and TV show “Switched at Birth.” The move has not been approved by the tragic singer’s family, who oppose the movie. Talk show host Wendy Williams had been added as executive producer. This movie does not sound good at all. I am not of the belief they will tell Aaliyah's story right.
