Lifetime's Whitney Houston Biopic TV Movie Slammed By Critics And Social Networking

Critics overwhelmingly rendered negative reviews for Lifetime's disgraceful Whitney Houston television movie biopic, which debuted this past Saturday, January 17, 2015. While most agree it was not as bad as the terrible job Lifetime did on the life of the late, beautiful songstress Aaliyah ("Aaliyah: The Princess Of R&B"), the Whitney movie was terrible.

Whitney Houston

Many critics and people on social networking complained the movie was more about Houston's ex-husband, R&B singer Bobby Brown. Many complaints also centered around the fact the film had trashy sex scenes. The movie was historically inaccurate and defamed Whitney and her mother, legendary Gospel singer, Cissy Houston. I guess it was payback for Cissy Houston disapproving of the film, but who could blame her. The Judiciary Report was never in favor of this movie being made and now that it has been filmed and released, it has proven the site right.

Whitney Houston is one of the greatest singers of all time. What she achieved in music is historic and remarkable. Her career was never based on hype or looks, though she was a stunningly beautiful woman. Her career was all about her outstanding voice and beautiful music. Lifetime's movie failed to capture any of that. They've reduced one of the best vocalists of all time to a trashy tabloid scandal for a poorly made 2-hour piece that damaged her legacy.

Yaya DaCosta, got the nuances of the character all wrong and made Houston look like a flighty, ungraceful, scatter brained, clingy woman fluttering across stages with no poise or life of her own outside of her husband. Even with all of Houston's problems with drugs and alcohol, she had a poise and dignity about herself that was missing from this film. Lifetime and Angela Bassett, made a mockery of her life.

Preview Of Lifetime’s Whitney Houston Movie Shows A Forthcoming Flop (Video)

The Lifetime television network has released a trailer for their forthcoming Whitney Houston movie and it looks cheesy and clumsily made. The promo clip looks even worse that the poorly received "Aaliyah: The Princess Of R&B" also released by Lifetime. Once again, the movie suffers from substandard costumes that pale in comparison to the originals actually worn by the stars and terrible casting, which has even Houston's daughter, Bobbi Kristina Brown, laughing with scorn and derision on social networking.

In short, the movie looks like a mess, just like the Judiciary Report predicted several moths ago it would be. If the trailer, which is supposed to be some of the best highlights of the film looks this bad, the movie will be worse. It is poor filmmaking at the expense of music legends who died early, tragic deaths, making these ill-advised, poorly executed biopics even more distasteful.

Houston was a phenomenal talent. Her voice was exceptional and rare. She held her own in the massive hit film "The Bodyguard" even though it was her first outing as an actress. She did so much in breaking down barriers in the entertainment industry. Yet this is the garbage lifetime does with her life story. It’s just plain offensive. The movie looks cheap and tacky replete with infomercial acting.

Lifetime Accused Of Promoting Pedophilia Due To Tweets On Twitter About The Movie 'Aaliyah: The Princess Of R&B'

The Lifetime Network came under fire for inappropriate tweets they released on Twitter in attempting to promote their poorly made biopic "Aaliyah: The Princess Of R&B." The terrible movie was executive produced by gossip talk show host, Wendy Williams, who was also slammed left right and center on social networking for the subpar biopic.

Aaliyah: The Princess Of R&B's R Kelly and Aaliyah portrayal promoted pedophilia in trying to make excuses for his illegally and exploitative conduct towards an impressionable underage girl

Twitter users became outraged when Lifetime's official Twitter account released tweets romanticizing Aaliyah and R Kelly's marriage that constituted statutory rape under the law, as she was 15-years-old and he 27-yaers of age. A few of the twisted tweets from Lifetime stated, "Are Aaliyah's parents being unfair?" in reference to Aaliyah's parents, Diane and Michael Haughton, appropriately stating the marriage will be annulled and taking appropriate action to end the illegal, pedophilic union.

Another inappropriate tweet stated "R. Kelly is almost twice Aaliyah's age. Is that crazy?" It was a pedophilic question to ask, as anyone with half a brain, who knows even the basics about the law and has a sense of morality understands that a 26-year-old man is not supposed to be having sex with a 14-year-old girl.
