Dec. 2 (Bloomberg) -- A bill offering gay and lesbian couples in New York the same rights to marry as a man and woman was turned down by the state Senate.
Senators voted 38-24 to reject same-sex marriages. The decision came a month after voters in Maine overturned a law extending wedding rights to gay couples.
