Elena Kagan
Elena Kagan has been confirmed as a U.S. Supreme Court Justice. She is a former clerk of Thurgood Marshall. In support of this monumental occasion in her life, I would like to extend the same loving, caring, thoughtful words of advice I did to my mother, who like Kagan is also 5'1..."You're too short." Three white male teachers have been suspended for handing out photos of incarcerated football player, O.J. Simpson, drag queen singer, RuPaul and notorious basketball player, Dennis Rodman, as example of role models for Black History Month. Some are labeling it racism, while others state it must be a twisted joke.
Choosing three controversial black people was not the best idea. With all the positive black role models in America and the world, such as Martin Luther King Jr., Thurgood Marshall and Ben Carson, there were more suitable choices.
