The government in India has indicted 5 men in the brutal rape, beating and death of a 23-year-old medical student, after the woman and her boyfriend were lured onto a public bus and attacked. The couple were on their way home after a movie, when the bus stopped to pick them up. The 5 men unleashed a furious and vicious attacked raping and beating the young woman, even violating her with an iron bar.
When the attack was over, they threw the couple off the bus, then attempted to run over her, which prompted her injured boyfriend to pull her out of the way. However, her injuries were too severe and two weeks later she died from organ failure. This incident has sparked protests in India with the government vowing to address the people's concerns.
