President Barack Obama was in
Colombia for the Summit of the Americas
6 of President Obama Secret Service agents have been fired
in the fallout from the prostitution scandal that occurred in Colombia,
during the Summit of the Americas, which he attended in his capacity as
Commander-in-Chief. Several other Secret Service employees, such as two
supervisors, have been fired as well, over a scandal that has caused the
president an enormous amount of embarrassment.
Dania Suarez kicked off the scandal
Members of the military involved in the scandal, also
face possible discharge and further action, for engaging in the
aforementioned conduct, while on assignment in protecting President
Obama. The Summit of the Americas was an ill-fated one for Obama, as his
political position was overwhelmingly rejected by fellow world leaders
and the prostitution scandal brought another layer of trouble to the
trip.
