President Mubarak Steps Down In Egypt

Egypt President, Hosni Mubarak, has stepped down as head of state of his nation. This news comes after intense protests and rioting, aimed at ousting him from 30-years of rule, succeeded in bringing change.

U.S. President Barack Obama has been criticized in the American press for his handling of the matter

Mubarak put forward concessions, such as leaving office after the September 2011 elections, but the multi-billionaire's offers were rejected by the people of Egypt. He has ceded control of the nation to the Egyptian military. Now comes the process of rebuilding and regaining order after the turmoil that ensued.
