U.S. President Barack Obama is in search of business advisers to
help him address the significant problems occurring in the economy. Obama
indicated he shunned this action during his first term as president, but it is
now something he is "considering."
Obama complained he had difficulty "recruiting business leaders
into the administration" due to the confirmation process. However, there are
other issues to consider. If one gets executives who are still in Wall Street's
pocket, that will not help middle class and lower income people struggling to
get back on their feet during the financial crisis.
The Washington Post published an article this week titled, "The
global economy isn't falling apart. The U.S. might be." The piece indicated the
global economy, particularly the manufacturing sectors of the world, have
stabilized, except in the United States.
The article further reported, China's "manufacturing sector
expanded" and Europe has risen as well. However U.S. data indicates a decline.
Something is very wrong. This should not be happening. The Obama Administration
does not have a grip on the financial crisis, started by predecessor George
Bush's unwise choices while he was in office.
However, as Obama goes along, the damage incurred during his
term will be attributed to him. The mere fact other nation's are climbing out of
the crisis and America is not is another of many indicators the government is
going in the wrong direction.
Prominent African-American Princeton professor, Dr. Cornel West, has publicly denounced U.S. President, Barack Obama, for becoming, “A black mascot of Wall Street oligarchs and a black puppet of corporate plutocrats.” Sadly, this is true.
West went on to state, “Where is the Democratic accountability on the Wall Street oligarchs and corporate oligarchs?… Geithner and Company tied to Wall Street? That is not encouraging at all.” Again, this is true.
Obama has sold his soul in allowing corporate interests to gouge and pillage the poor in America. He has been complicit in the terrible financial abuses, while letting rich criminals run free. Obama has publicly embraced corporate criminals, in exchange for massive campaign donations for his reelection bid, not realizing that money shall be worthless to that end, if the people, everyday people, fail to back him over brazen corruption. You think about that - what good will that campaign money do, when people decide we saw what you did and will not vote for you.
West is correct, as Obama has forsaken what is right and ethical, in favor of Wall Street and Hollywood corporations donations. He is treading a very treacherous path to being voted out in 2012 and will have no one but himself to blame for that disgraceful conclusion to his time as President.
Obama also needs to stop playing the race card with the black community, to keep us reeled in, while he sells out the rights and interests of the poor and middle class, to greedy corporate titans. People are suffering under the current economic climate, both black and white and there is nothing amusing or good about that.
The Corporate Sector Has Killed The American Dream, Which Is A Shame, Because It Was A Good One

This year a number of mainstream articles have lamented regarding the erosion of the middle class, wondering how it happened, when the answer is right under their noses. The mass corruption and fraud in the corporate sector destroyed the middle class.
Unethical schemes and underhanded tricks have been used to exploit middle class businesspeople in America, destroying and gobbling up their businesses in favor of conglomerates. Faceless, soulless corporations, then buckled and fell under the sheer magnitude of the corruption and crooked business practices.
It is not easy starting and maintaining a business in America anymore. In the 1980s and 1990s it was much easier. There were many rags to riches stories. Now there are too many fees, too few loans and too much corruption one has to wade through, rendering it an unfavorable and unprofitable proposition for many.
I speak from experience. I have been trying to start a new business and you would not believe the hurdles I have experienced... and I didn't even apply for a business loan, which would have complicated it that much more.
In attempting to license the business and lease space, I've had different business people try to hustle me and talk me out of it, providing every negative reason they could think of, as to why I should not start the business, though it is a good, lawful one. Obama wants to know what happened to the middle class and small business sector...there you go!

I've never seen anything like it in my life. I grew up around so many business owners as a kid and teen, but now it is a different story. To those that make it through the ridiculous obstacle course that has become the corporate sector, there is some unethical corporate giant waiting to illegally profit from and disassemble all you've worked for, while the FBI, FTC, SEC and court system turn a blind eye.
Then, the corporate giants fall (as did Lehman, Countrywide, Washington Mutual, Wachovia, Merrill Lynch, MGM, ect...) leaving the government scratching its head wondering what happened to the economy. Look in the mirror.
The government needs to take a good, hard look at itself, what it has become and what it has allowed to happen to the working class, under the auspices that corporate giants are too big to fail and can do whatever they please, as it has brought America to the brink.
The mortgage lenders conspired and reset the interest rates on millions of mortgages a couple years ago, costing many their homes, the gas companies gouged the populace, usurping billions of dollars during the recent price hike ($3-$5 per gallon), food prices went up, due to added transportation costs (gas again) and ponzi schemers' fraudulent conduct began to unravel, when people started demanding their funds during hard times, not realizing their money was gone. It was the perfect storm, as the phrase goes.
It never used to be this hard to make it in America. Many people used to thrive. So many people that lived financially comfortable lives are now struggling to make ends meet. Now only the very rich are prospering, some through fraud and it is dragging the majority of the nation down.
How can it be good that so many people are suffering, under the aforementioned, illegal redistribution of wealth that transpired at the expense of the fleeced working class. Who will restore the American dream. The government needs to change or the people will change you.
As stated previously, the Judiciary Report is in favor of raising taxes on America's richest citizens, to help ease the financial trauma of the current economic depression. The middle class and the poor should be left out of a tax hike. However, the Obama Administration is beginning to waffle on raising taxes on the rich, when it is fiscally necessary at this point in time.
Once again, some of America's richest citizens single-handedly created the current financial depression, via greed and gouging. It has harmed so many people, who are now out of work and without their home, thanks to foreclosure.
The rich should be made to give back what they took, above what they were entitled to under the law. Taxation is a cheap, cost effective way to do so. A nation of 305,000,000 cannot function for or be made to suffer for the benefit of the (financial) top two percent of its citizens, also known as the rich.
Former Vice President Dick Cheney came out of retirement again and drew more ill will for the U.S. government at home and abroad, by proclaiming he is for torture, with a particular fondness for waterboarding, which simulates drowning. He also stated Obama should be thankful to George W. Bush for the Iraq war, which is astonishing and appalling, showing a great lack of respect and repentance, as over 1 million people have died as a result of their lies. Vice President Cheney has rebuked him for these statements.
These constant misconceived quotes are doing nothing for the government's name, as torture is internationally illegal. Repeatedly coming forth and touting illegal criminal activity, under the guise of national security, is sowing additional seeds of mistrust and disgust. Torture is criminal, as is terrorism, therefore it puts you in the same class as terrorists.

"But it ought to go with a healthy dose of 'thank you, George Bush' up front and a recognition that some of their early recommendations, with respect to prosecuting that war, were just dead wrong."...
Biden, appearing on Sunday news shows, said he believes Obama has managed the war in Iraq "very well" since taking office a year ago. He said, however, that he doesn't believe the war was worth the "horrible price" in lives lost and the initial mismanagement of the war by Bush.
"We took our eye off the ball, putting us in a much different and more dangerous position in Afghanistan. We lost support around the world. It's taken a lot of hard work to get it back. But we were handed - we were dealt a hand, and I think we're handling it incredibly well," Biden said...
U.S. President Barack Obama did five television interviews last week, in support of his national health care plans. On the television program, Face The Nation, the interviewer asked the same question the Judiciary Report pondered months ago, is the President taking on too much too fast.
Certain problems within the U.S. government should rank high on his agenda. Quite a few can easily be fixed. However, the health care issue is a mammoth problem that requires complete thought and thorough planning.
It would have been more appropriate to introduce a small tax increase on America's richest citizens, leaving the middle class and poor out of the extra taxation and eased it into a fund for a program to provide low cost health insurance for the members of American society, most in need of coverage, but are the least able to afford it.
One could cut costs in government across the board and wait until the nation's financial outlook improved, before attempting drastic financial decisions, such as health care for everyone, with the government footing the bill.
The only way this can be done quickly, without bankrupting the nation, is creating a health care tax everyone has to pay, following the international model and one would have to be careful introducing something of that scope overnight in a nation of 305,000,000 people.
