Billy Ray Cyrus Wishes He Could Take Back "Hannah Montana" Show

Country music singer and actor, Billy Ray Cyrus, has publicly stated in GQ magazine, if he could take back the "Hannah Montana" show, which in his estimation, wrecked his family, he would do so.

The show made his daughter, Miley Cyrus, a superstar and brought them a few hundred million dollars, due to sitcom fees and merchandising. However, it led to his daughter embracing the dark side of Hollywood, via drugs, alcohol and lewd behavior.

Country music singer and actor, Billy Ray Cyrus, slammed the "Hannah Montana" show, which brought his family fame and fortune. Cyrus, a successful country singer from the 1990s, had a major hit with the song "Achy Breaky Heart."

One of his five children with wife, Tish Cyrus, got the fame bug as well and went into show business in her dad's footsteps. Their daughter, 18-year-old singer/actress, Miley Cyrus, became the star of Disney's "Hannah Montana" show with dad playing a role on the sitcom as well. Cyrus insists he did not make any money off his daughter, which may be true, as he was a best selling country music artist.

However, fame led to his daughter flying off the rails in well publicized drug, alcohol and semi-nude photo scandals. Her career also took a dive, when Cyrus' new, raunchy image proved too much for her impressionable fans and their parents. Cyrus' record sales plummeted.

Billy Ray Cyrus also filed for divorce from his wife of 18-years, under a swirl of rumors she had an affair with rock singer and Poison frontman, Brett Michaels, who flatly denied the story.

In a revealing interview with GQ magazine, Cyrus bemoans the fact "Hannah Montana" wrecked his family. Cyrus says he was used by her handlers to take the fall, whenever something went wrong in his daughter's career. He repeatedly took the blame to protect her.

However, the last straw came via the bong scandal, when Cyrus tried to inquire about his daughter's latest troubles and one of her managers told him, "It is none of your business." You feel bad for Cyrus when you read the article. Here's hoping he calls off the divorce and the family reconnects with each other.

Dr. Drew Pinksy, famous for his work on the reality show "Celebrity Rehab" has stated Miley Cyrus is in need of mental health counseling. He is troubled by the teen star's erratic behavior, attributing it to her mom's alleged extramarital affair and her parents' pending divorce.

Cyrus has been engaging in very wild behavior, upping the ante with each new incident. She seems to be testing all moral and social boundaries and in doing so, her fragile psyche as well, which has barely hit adulthood. Some therapy could be beneficial to her.

Singer, Bret Michaels, has denied scandalous reports, which labeled him a homewrecker having an affair with Tish Cyrus, the mother of pop singer and actress, Miley Cyrus. His representatives state the story is not true and they simply became good friends, after Miley remade his hit 1980s hit "Every Rose Has It's Thorn."

Tish Cyrus, mother of four, is in the midst of a sad divorce from country music singer, Billy Ray Cyrus, famous for his hit "Achy Breaky Heart." The couple have not gone public with the reason for their split. Hopefully, they will call the divorce off.
