Celebrity Publicist Max Clifford Sentenced To 8-years In Prison For Having Sex With Underage Girls As Young As 12-Years Of Age

He was one of the top publicists in the world, making lucrative deals for people selling unsavory stories on celebrities and politicians, in acts that invaded their privacy and betrayed their trust. Now he’s going to be an inmate. Famous publicist, Max Clifford, has been sentenced to 8-years in prison for having sex with underage girls, as young as 12-years of age. Compelling testimony from victims put the millionaire behind bars in a case that was well prosecuted.

It is alleged in some instances, females were told sex with Clifford was the only way he would make the famous in the entertainment industry. Clifford brings to mind Lou Pearlman, the former manager behind then teen music stars the Backstreet Boys, NSYNC, O-Town and Aaron Carter. There were allegations of sexual abuse of underage teen boys, who were allegedly told they had to have sex with Pearlman if they wanted to be stars. One young hopeful was aghast when he asked Pearlman what he would have to do to become a star and Pearlman allegedly responded by opening his robe, revealing his penis and informed the underage teen boy he would have to perform oral sex on him.

The FBI never nabbed Pearlman for these crimes, though it was widely alleged he molested Aaron Carter and two of the Backstreet Boys when they were underage. However, Florida police were able to arrest Pearlman for financial fraud via a type of ponzi scheme he was running from his Orlando, Florida office. Pearlman was sentenced to 15-years in prison and is currently behind bars.

Drug Overdose Suspected

Leslie Carter, the 25-year-old singer and sister of Backstreet Boys star, Nick Carter, was found dead today in New York. Carter released music and also became a reality star, after appearing on the family's show "House Of Carter." Toxicology tests are being performed to ascertain the cause of death.

TMZ is stating Carter had battled an addiction to prescription pills, which the site is blaming as the culprit, after she was left alone for an hour, then found unconscious. She leaves behind a husband and 10-month-old daughter.

Will 17-year-old pop singer, Justin Bieber, become a successful solo singer as an adult or end up as another child star, fallen to the wayside, due to the pitfalls of fame in Hollywood. In looking over music history, it is not hard to fathom that things could go wrong for Bieber, if he is not given the proper personal advice and career guidance.

Frankie Lymon and the Teenagers

Frankie Lymon and the Teenagers, were a briefly successful teen singing group in the 1960s. They became famous with the song "Why Do Fools Fall in Love" but things went wrong shortly after their debut album. Sexually active from a very early age, Lymon got into the habit of engaging in reckless affairs with older women.

He simply grew up too fast, as many child stars do, because the adults around them refuse to tell them the word "no." They are in an adult environment and believe they are to do grown up things before their time. At one point, Lymon was reportedly married to three different women, which later led to trouble in a copyright lawsuit, regarding his estate. Lymon, who once earned thousands per week, died penniless, falling victim to a heroin overdose that claimed his life.

Michael Jackson is without a doubt, the most successful former child star of all time. Jackson received his musical start in his family's group, the Jackson Five, where he became a superstar at a very early age. Jackson went on to have a very successful solo career as an adult, but childhood issues plagued his life.

As a result, at times he was emotionally stunted and let people into his circle that brought him down. Jackson also developed a serious drug problem, which resulted in his early death at the age of 49, under the care of a doctor that was aiding him in unlawfully abusing pharmaceutical drugs.

New Edition

The Boston band of R&B singers, New Edition, were one of the most successful African-American teen groups in music history. Their brand of clean R&B crossed over to the pop charts and made them household names very early in their careers.

The group more or less survived being child stars without terrible issues, but former member Bobby Brown, the ex-husband of Whitney Houston, was the exception. He was kicked out of the group and while he did go on to some solo success with the album "Don't Be Cruel" Brown had massive problems with drinking, drugs and the law, facing arrest several times and bankruptcy.

New Kids On The Block

Boston quintet, the New Kids On The Block, launched as manager Maurice Starr's answer to his former group, New Edition, became very famous quite fast. Their audience was largely comprised of screaming underage girls, which as time has repeatedly shown, is a very fickle genre.

New Kids On The Block sold millions of CDs, but overnight their fame disappeared with the release of their ironically titled 1994 album "Face The Music." The members became depressed and some fell into drug use. They've since mounted a comeback in recent years, but it was nothing like the success they experienced during their hay day.

Backstreet Boys

The Backstreet Boys were the late 1990s answer to the New Kids On The Block. The Florida "boy band" became very successful, once again, due to screaming teenage girls, but the fame disappeared almost as quickly as it arrived, due to the fickleness of said genre.

Members of the Backstreet Boys experienced drug problems and depression. They were managed by pedophile, Lou Pearlman, who is said to have proposition group members Nick Carter and AJ McClean. Pearlman is now doing a 15-year stretch in prison for a ponzi scheme that defrauded many out of millions of dollars.

Hi-Five

Hi-Five were a successful R&B group from Texas, who had several hit singles in the 1990s, some of which crossed over onto the pop charts. After two successful albums, the group's sales declined. What was worse is the personal troubles that beset them.

The lead singer, Tony Thompson, died of an overdose, after inhaling freon to get high (also called "huffing"). Group member Roderick Clark was paralyzed in a car accident. Another member, Treston Irby, was shot five times at a club.

B2K

In 2001, teen R&B group, B2K, burst onto the music scene with their debut album that made them young singing sensations. Not long after, the group disbanded under acrimonious circumstances. It later emerged, members of the group were being molested as young boys by their producer Chris Stokes and struggling with deep emotional problems as a result.

Usher

So, as you can see, a lot can go wrong for young entertainers. Some have not survived their fame, in tragic incidents that destroyed their lives. Bieber is being mentored by former child star, Usher, who's had a number of issues of his own. The Judiciary Report knows of behind the scenes industry incidents, where he has personally led young Bieber astray. The question is, will he end up being this young man's undoing.

As 17-year-old pop singer, Justin Bieber and much of his audience rapidly approach adulthood, will his listeners outgrow him. Teen acts often suffer due to this disadvantage. It has happened to others in his genre, as past sales records have shown.

Former teen music groups, such as the New Kids On The Block and the Backstreet Boys, were very famous one minute, then sliding down the charts into obscurity the next, unable to shift the amount of records they once did. For some, all it took to reach that decline was the release of one album in the space of one month. Will Bieber meet the same musical fate.

Teens Sexually Exploited In Hollywood

Hollywood is not a good place for a kid. So many teens have been exploited by sexual predators in tinsel town. Being sexually propositioned when one is young and vulnerable is terrible. However, it has happened to many and continues to occur in Hollywood.

The late R&B singer, Aaliyah, pictured above, was sexually exploited by singer, R. Kelly, in her early teens, well before the legal age of consent. Things were so out of control, Kelly illegally procured a fake I.D. for her at age 15 and wed her in a courthouse ceremony.

Backstreet Boys

Numerous other aspiring teen singers, ranging in age from 12-16, came forward stating, Kelly sexually took advantage of them, promising to make them famous and lavishing gifts upon them as well.

Lou Pearlman

Members of the pop boy bands, Backstreet Boys, NSYNC and LFO, to name a few, were preyed upon by sexual predator and label owner, Lou Pearlman, when they were underage youths recording for his company, Transcontinental Records.

It left the young men with psychological problems, forcing some to seek therapy. There was one reported incident of a teen asking him for a record deal and what he would need to do to obtain one, prompting Pearlman to open his robe, exposing his penis.

Chris Stokes

Chris Stokes, 41, the manager of R&B boybands, B2K, Immature/IMX and NLT, has been accused of sexually molesting its members in their early teens. He denies the allegations, but singer Raz-B, states Stokes anally raped him and would make all the members of B2K have showers with him.

Tevin Campbell

Former child star and soulful R&B singer, Tevin Campbell, was said to have been propositioned by gays in the industry, even when he was an underage teen. Campbell then developed homosexual tendencies. In 1999, Campbell was arrested for soliciting a sex act from an undercover police man in a Los Angeles neighborhood.

Jamie Lyn Spears

There are also stories of former child stars, rapper Bow Wow and actress, Jamie Lyn Spears, having been taken advantage of sexually, before the age of consent, in separate, unrelated incidents, by males in Hollywood. Both deny the claims, but many insist they are true.

Chris Brown and Rihanna

Former couple, Rihanna and Chris Brown, were both taken advantage of in a sexual manner, before the age of consent. Rihanna, began sleeping with Jay-Z at age 16, in exchange for a record deal, fame and fortune. Stories have dogged Chris Brown, regarding him having sexual relations with his middle aged, female manager, when he was 15-years-old.

Chastity Bono, the daughter of singers, Cher and the late, Sonny Bono, who made appearances on their television show as a child, was sexually violated at age 15, by a middle age lesbian her mother left her with, while she was on a concert tour. Bono later became a lesbian and recently had a regrettable sex change.

Jerry Lee Lewis and Myra Gale Brown

At age 23, famous singer, Jerry Lee Lewis, caused terrible controversy by marrying his 13-year-old cousin, Myra Gale Brown. His career suffered greatly for it, as his conduct was completely improper.

As the aforementioned stories suggest, Hollywood has a terrible time keeping their hands off people's children and lines of morality and decency are often blurred, to the detriment of many kids and teens. The abuse and corruption of the justice system, ensures crimes against children in tinsel town continue to this day.

B2K Member Alleges Molestation By Male Manager And Marques Houston

Chris Stokes and Raz-B

Raz-B, the former member of the now defunct R&B boyband, B2K, has made serious allegations of molestation, by the quintet's former manager, Chris Stokes and R&B singer/actor, Marques Houston.

B2K

Houston was a member of the group Immature, which later became, IMX. They too were managed as underage youth, by Chris Stokes. Previously, Raz-B made allegations that a twenty-something Stokes, molested him as an underage youth in the music group.

However, he retracted his statements when questioned by police, stating Stokes is affiliated with violent street gang members in Los Angeles and he is being threatened into not saying anything more about the molestation.

Raz-B is not the first former boyband member to claim sexual harassment by a manager. Several former, pop boyband members, have accused Lou Pearlman, of sexually harassing and touching them when they were underage singers.

The late, Rich Cronin, of the band, LFO, stated he had to go to therapy, because of the damage Pearlman inflicted on him as a young singer on his label. Numerous people in their circle made claims Pearlman also went after a young, Nick Carter and AJ McClean, of the Backstreet Boys.

Pop star Aaron Carter, stars as what else, a pop star, in a film called, well, "Pop Star." Carter plays, J.D. McQueen, a teen pop singer, who decided to drop the tutors and go to a regular high school, as being a child star, his grades begin to suffer.

He meets pretty, Alan Austin, a very intelligent, yet somewhat geeky, high school student that makes great grades. He asks her to tutor him and she accepts, hoping he will fall in love with her. A few problems do arise, but I won't ruin the ending for you (like you're really gonna watch it) but it is a cute one, albeit cheesier than cheddar.

However, this movie kind of disturbed me, because Lou Perlman is in it, as he financed it. As some of you may know at this point, Perlman is in jail for running a massive ponzi scheme and even worse, the teenage boybands he used to manage, have since stated in interviews, he would sexually prey on some of them. Do keep in mind, some of these boys were underage at the time.
