David Patraeus
U.S. General David Patraeus has resigned from his post as head of the CIA
under a scandal, regarding an extramarital affair. The adulterous relationship
took place with Patraeus' biographer, Paula Broadwell, who authored the book,
“All In: The Education of General David Petraeus.” She is currently under
investigation by the FBI, regarding claims she tried to access U.S. national
secrets during the writing of the tome.
Patraeus stated he is resigning for personal reasons, “After being
married for over 37 years, I showed extremely poor judgment by engaging in an
extramarital affair. Such behavior is unacceptable, both as a husband and as the
leader of an organization such as ours.” This affair has certainly wreaked havoc
on his career and could not have been worth it.
