Paula Broadwell (back left), stares longingly at David
Patraeus (front right) as he walks with his wife Holly Patraeus (front left). I
know when his wife found out about his affairs, he probably thought he'd be
safer on the battlefield with bombs going off.
Biographer Paula Broadwell was subjected to a surprise search of
her home by the U.S. FBI, in conjunction with the David Patraeus scandal. It
wasn't a full scale raid, but when the FBI searches your home, it may as well
be. The investigation is in regards to Broadwell's adulterous affair with the
general and threats she made by email against his other mistress, Jill Kelley.
Patraeus abruptly resigned from the CIA as news of this scandal was about to
break, leading many to believe there is more to this story than meets the eye.
David Patraeus and Paula Broadwell
Kelley contacted the FBI over the anonymous threats, only to
supposedly discover Patraeus' affairs with the two women. It is being stated
Patraeus told Broadwell to back off Kelley. It is thought Broadwell wanted
access to classified materials, but as of the time of this writing, no documentation has been released to that effect. The FBI really aren't one to
talk about compromising national security, female spies and litigants have
bedded FBI agents and gotten favors out of them in the process, including
protected information.
