Wyclef Jean
Rapper and former Fugees member, Wyclef Jean, has closed his
Yele charity under a cloud of suspicion and a criminal investigation. Yele was
supposed to benefit his homeland Haiti, but stands accused of misappropriating
$16,000,000 in charity money donated to benefit victims of the devastating
earthquake in Haiti.
Instead the money went to luxury items such as private jets and
high salaries for Yele's staff members, including Jean and his mistress. This
story is sad, as $16,000,000 could have gone a far way to help Haitians that
have been left destitute. Jean owes Haiti and Yele's donors a massive apology.
