Jamaican Tourism Receiving A Bounce After Usain Bolt's Performance At The 2012 Olympics

The Jamaica Gleaner newspaper is reporting an increase in tourist bookings for trips to the island, attributing it to the "Bolt bounce." The newspaper of course is referring to gold medalist sprinter, Usain Bolt, who became a legend at the 2012 Olympics in London, setting world records. His race in the 100m was the most watched of the Olympic games. The charismatic Jamaican sprinter will once again be featured in tourism ads for Jamaica set to air shortly.

It would also be cool if in addition to the Bolt ads, there was also one featuring other gold medalists with Bolt. His training partner, Yohan Blake, has become quite popular. Humorous bronze medalist Warren Weir has also increased in stature.

Side Bar: Weir is on Twitter teasing his girlfriend over her love of cheesecake and complaining about putting 5 packs of sugar in his tea that still refuses to sweeten (LOL). Um, is it diet sugar? I tried a certain artificial sweetener the other day and I must state, it tasted like Chloraseptic sore throat medicine and made my tongue slightly numb. Is that how it works - it knocks out your taste buds so you can't taste your food, causing you to give up on eating, resulting in less calories going in, hence the term "low calorie sweetener."
