In watching this week's episode of the reality show "Real Housewives Of Atlanta" I couldn't help but notice, singer Kandi Burruss' stepdaughter, Kaela, remind you of...rapper Bobby Shmurda. They could be brother and sister. Having written that, if Kandi's daughter, Riley, doesn't stop dropping veiled insults at Kaela, she's going to start acting like Bobby Shmurda on her (LOL).

Todd and Kandi have been trying to merge their families, after getting married this year. However, Riley doesn't look too pleased with Todd trying to get her allowance reduced, attempting to remove one of the big screen televisions from her room and bringing his daughter Kaela to live with them in the singer's Buckhead mansion. Riley is like her grandmother in this regard, but more tactful and sarcastic with her statements.

For instance, Riley tried to have Kaela's curfew changed from 1:00AM to hours earlier, stating there's no need for an 18-year-old to be out that late in Atlanta. Kaela retorted that when 15-year-old Riley is her age she will want a later curfew. Riley sarcastically informed her that when she is her age, she will not be out partying, but in university. And the room went quiet (LOL). Good times!

Kandi Burruss And Todd Tucker Almost Called Off Wedding Over His Refusal To Sign A Prenup

 

The Bravo network created a spin-off of the reality show "The Real Housewives Of Atlanta" entitled "Kandi's Wedding." It centers on the nuptials of singer/songwriter, Kandi Burruss to music executive Todd Tucker. Burruss' mother, Mama Joyce, is strongly against the marriage, branding Todd a gold-digger after Kandi's money. Mama Joyce is contentious and meddlesome, engaging in a number of stunts in attempts at thwarting the wedding.

 

During most of Mama Joyce and Todd's appearances on "The Real Housewives Of Atlanta" and "Kandi's Wedding" she came across as being in the wrong and Todd a victim of her suspicious. However, Todd began to give her argument some credence by refusing to sign the prenup. Todd's lawyer advised him the prenup is not favorable to him in the event something goes wrong in their marriage, as he would be left with only what he brought into the marriage and earned. Therefore, Todd's lawyer that he retained two days before the wedding, which was nearly cancelled over the issue, advised him not to sign the prenup. After a serious string of arguments, Todd gave in and signed the prenup.

 

Anyone with assets is wise to protect themselves going into marriage by asking the other party to sign a prenup. Refusal to do so should create pause and be a reason not to get married to said person, as they are telling you they love your assets more than you. People fool people all the time into thinking they love them, then after marriage trying to take them for all they are worth. Protect yourself.  

Real Housewives Of Atlanta Season 6 Finale Was Oh So Good!

The season six finale of the Real Housewives of Atlanta was a funny shade-fest. It was the best season yet. Singer/songwriter, Kandi Burruss, put on a play, co-produced by fiancé, now husband, Todd and it was a success with five sold out showings in Atlanta. The play starred legendary, incomparable singers Eddie Levert and Shirley Murdock.

All the girls, save for NeNe Leakes, attended the play. NeNe was sick with a collapsed lung that her realtor husband, Greg, misdiagnosed as trapped gas. Black people, why do some of us do that in trying to play doctor LOL! Because gas and a collapsed lung are not the same thing.

The play was about her relationship with Todd and her mother, Joyce, who keeps trying to break them up. The play, “A Mother’s Love” put Joyce’s overprotective and somewhat unreasonable behavior on display and she didn’t like it. Joyce looked upset in the audience, even hissing her teeth while watching the play. She clearly felt embarrassed and awkward about it. I even felt sorry for her. She looked like she wanted to have a Madea moment and snap on the cast.

However, Joyce has to realize what she and her hilarious fellow gangstas, her sisters, put her daughter Kandi through (love them though, they make me laugh). Todd is not the wealthy or very famous, which is what she seeks in a son-in-law, but at the end of the day, Kandi is happy with him and he treats her well. I wish them the very best in their marriage. 

 

The last part of the program revealed a clip of the upcoming reunion show, regarding a fight between Porsha Williams and Kenya Moore, with NeNe Leakes ending up in the mix. Porsha appears to have started the fight after Kenya kept pointing a bedazzled wand in her face.

Side Bar: Mama Joyce, now I know you’re mad about the play, but Kandi is in her thirties and it’s not a good idea to whoop your child at that age and Todd, also in his thirties is not your son, so beating him would be child abuse, but on grown folks. I’m just saying (LOL).

'Real Housewives of Atlanta': Momma Joyce Attacks Kandi's Friend

Mama Joyce, the overprotective mother of "Real Housewives Of Atlanta" star Kandi, wants to move into her daughter's Buckhead mansion in Atlanta, Georgia, when her offspring gets married. Mama Joyce famously opposed Kandi's pending nuptials to Todd, whom she brands an opportunist and gold digger (and she could be right).

However, Mama Joyce wants to move into her home as well. Kandi will have no sex life with her future husband once that happens. Her mother has meddled in her life in so many ways, it's only a matter of time before that's next. Kandi's marriage would not hold up to Mama Joyce living in the house with them.

I know I’m late with this,but I was busy. I just saw the most recent episode of “Real Housewives Of Atlanta” today and Kandi’s mom Mama Joyce is something else. She is trying to protect her daughter’s assets from her offspring’s fiancé, Todd Tucker, whom she deems an opportunist and she may be right.

Mama Joyce basically laid down the law regarding a prenup, but Todd seemed unwilling to sign, which would give him access to Kandi’s money and mansion in Atlanta’s premiere neighborhood Buckhead. In a forthcoming episode, Mama Joyce is also seen attempting to fight one of Kandi’s friends, whom she believes is messing around with Todd.

Mama Joyce is very protective of her daughter and it’s understandable. Kandi's come a far way and amassed a couple million dollars. She feels Todd does not have enough money to marry Kandi or good intentions. However, you can’t judge a man by the size of his pocket. You have to try to discern his intentions. Will he be good to your daughter. Will he show her love and compassion. Will he be a great dad if they have children. These are the questions you need to ponder.

Having written that, I must state this, what strikes me as odd is Todd will not sign the prenup. That's generally not a good sign. If you love someone and want to show them you’re not after them for their money, you sign a prenup to show good faith. It's that simple.

In general, even if one is not rich now, a prenup is a good idea, as you may gain assets down the road. What if you become wealthy later and have a booming business. A vindictive spouse in a divorce could seek to get at you by demanding half the company, making it difficult for you to conduct business as you see fit. Something to think about. Protect yourself and your finances.
