"The Sorcerer's Apprentice" starring Nicholas Cage, is an unoriginal movie that tried to capitalize on the "Harry Potter" film franchise. It also contained elements of other preexisting works. It revolves around a middle aged sorcerer named, Balthazar Blake, played by Cage, that takes on a Harry Potter-esque apprentice, Dave Stutler. They go through a series of corny magical tests, until they discover he is the one who is fit to be the next Merlin (*yawn*).

The funny thing is the studio spent a lot of money on this film and it bombed domestically. Worldwide sales brought up the tally, but for a film that cost $150,000,000 to make, plus $30,000,000 in promotional costs, it barely turned a profit for all that expenditure. Cage has released a string of unoriginal flops that cost him dearly. At the rate he is going, it shall costs him even more - his career and bank account.

The implosion of Nicolas Cage's acting career and finances, has been astounding to watch. Born Nicolas Kim Coppola, he was once one of the biggest stars in Hollywood, but is now relegated to doing B-List movies that have flopped, one after another. His latest film, The Sorcerer's Apprentice, flopped like nobody's business.

At the height of his fame and popularity, he had $300,000,000 in the bank and could command $15,000,000 per film. However, he became mentally unstable, after joining Kabbalah and squandered his money on frivolous and strange things that did not bear good returns.

His movie career has plummeted as well, with audiences giving his projects lukewarm receptions. His movies took on a weird and demented tone that audiences just didn't take to, but it reflects his diminished judgment and poor state of mind, to think audiences would warm to such weirdness. In short, he's lost his money and his mind.

Actor Nicolas Cage's Bel Air home in Los Angles, has been auctioned in foreclosure. The celebrity that once owned over a dozen homes, has lost a number of them, due to overspending and under income.

The Judiciary Report saw this house on a Hollywood home tour years ago. It does look quite stately from the outside, which made the Judiciary Report wonder what was wrong with it other than the price ($35,000,000). When the price was eventually reduced, Cage's realtor still was unable to close a sale.

But alas, nosy TMZ posted pictures of the home's interiors and confirmed the Judiciary Report's worst suspicions, Cage suffers from bad taste in furnishings and interior design. It's a common affliction among celebrities. They have appalling taste in everything from clothes to furniture.

Cage's Bel Air home looks good from the outside, but the realtor should have staged the home, removed some of the actor's eccentric furnishings, placing them in storage and painted some of the rooms neutral tones (that green bathroom is hurting my feelings and that game room is traumatizing me).

I love movie memorabilia, but don't scare home buyers and have them startled while viewing your property and thinking, "Why is Yoda in the middle of the living room."

While it is fine to have eccentric tastes, when you are selling a home, especially in a fire sale, concessions must be made. Cage's former home was a great property with good structure, charming architectural features, situated in a prime location with a significant amount of space.

However, it is cluttered and crammed with items and wall colors from daily living that a potential buyer cannot appreciate or envision living in.

U.S. President Obama has started another anti-corruption effort, called the Financial Fraud Enforcement Task Force, headed up by the FBI (LOL), to combat the corruption in Corporate America.

While one can respect Obama's efforts, considering the sheer number of millions in taxpayer money the FBI has squandered, with some of it missing, as revealed in Congressional testimony, was the Mueller helmed agency really the best place to start. The FBI has blown more money than Nicolas Cage. However, at least Cage had something to show for it (well, until it started getting seized).

Head of the Department of Justice, Eric Holder, stated, "By punishing criminals for their actions, we will send a strong message to anyone looking to profit from the misfortune of others: We will investigate you, we will prosecute you, and we will incarcerate you." I'd like to believe you, but after watching the DOJ let known criminals run loose for years, wreaking financial damage, I am skeptical.

There are also a number of major ponzi schemes still running in America and other financial crimes as well, committed by connected citizens, the FBI and DOJ are unwilling to honor their Constitutionally obligated duty to bring to justice.

The government could form one million tasks forces for appearances, but until the corruption goes that is covering up specific cases, the U.S. economy will continue to struggle to regain its footing, as constant, unlawful depletions of wealth, via fraud continues. That's like putting your money in a bag that has a hole in it.

There's something about fame that causes some to lose focus and touch with reality. This is particularly true in the area of finances. Attempting to foster an image of mysterious celebrity, some go overboard with the spending, purchasing items that do not retain proper value.

Some Hollywood celebrities spend money on things most people would never buy if they were wealthy. Nicolas Cage is a prime example of this. Yes, it is his money, but when spending habits lead to difficult financial falls, it is simply self-defeating, which is not good.

Unless you're a sultan, Warren Buffett or Bill Gates, that money was bound to run out spending it in that manner. However, at the end of the day, they are just material things and not what is most important in life. God, faith and your family are what's important.
