Tyson Fury Cancelled Fight Against Alexander Ustinov Over Uncle Who Was Rushed To The Hospital With A Blood Clot

Dereck Chisora and Tyson Fury have an adversarial handshake

English born, undefeated heavyweight boxer, Tyson Fury, 25, cancelled his fight against Alexander Ustinov, 37, this past Saturday, after his uncle Hughie Fury, was rushed to the hospital with a blood clot that was traveling through his arteries. Fury's uncle is in critical condition. His team decided Fury was not in the proper frame of mind to fight due to his uncle's condition.

The bout was originally scheduled for Saturday, July 26, 2014, but was cancelled hours before the event. The fights on the undercard went ahead as scheduled. All of this occurred after Dereck Chisora, 30, pulled out of the fight with Fury, leading to his sparring partner Ustinov stepping in as a replacement.

The fight should have been cancelled the moment Chisora pulled out with an injury. Fury had no sparring sessions, was not training to fight a 300-pound 6 foot 7 inch man and was also just getting back in shape, after gaining weight from not fighting for nearly two years. Fury’s last three fights have been cancelled by opponents, citing injury.

The Judiciary Report kept pointing out before the cancellation that Fury could suffer his first loss to Ustinov for various reasons. Then it came out that Ustinov had done an 8-week training camp and had been sparring with Ukrainian WBA, IBF, WBO and IBO world champion, Wladimir Klitschko, 38.

Tyson Fury humorously told rival Alexander Ustinov "I will inflict pain upon your big head"

Another point I brought up on promoter Frank Warren’s Twitter page last week, which days later Ustinov questioned as well, is how will Fury fight him when his British boxing license is scheduled to be suspended for misconduct at a press conference with Chisora. The British Boxing Board of Control called for a August 14, 2014 hearing, regarding Fury’s explicit press conference in the presence of men, women and children, making it very clear if he refuses to attend, his boxing license will be suspended.

Days later Fury announced he will not attend the hearing. Therefore, how is he going to fight Ustinov or Chisora in October for that matter. Fury currently holds an Irish boxing license, due to his ancestry, but will he be allowed to fight in Britain with it, if a ban is imposed on his primary one.

In the meantime, Fury has gone from saying he wants to fight Wladimir Klitschko to American knockout king, Deontay Wilder, 28, to stating he wants to get in the ring with Haitian WBC heavyweight champion, Bermane “B. Ware” Stiverne, 35.

Boxer Tyson Fury Says He Will Not Fight Dereck Chisora Next Month Nor Will He Attend Hearing Revoking His Boxing License

Undefeated Irish boxer Tyson Fury is on a roller coaster of emotions. His last three planned fights were cancelled after opponents pull out due to injury. Fury lost money on training camps and potential purses. The latest cancellation due to a wrist fracture is boxer Dereck Chisora, who stated their fight scheduled for tomorrow, can proceed in one month. However, Fury has changed his mind, refusing to fight him next month after the late cancellation this week.

Fury stated, “As far as I'm concerned Dereck Chisora is history - finished. After I've done with this lummox in front of me (Ustinov) I want Bermane Stiverne for the WBC title. I'm not interested in Dereck Chisora, he ain't got enough credibility to lace my boots up, never mind step in the same ring. He's a s***house who dropped his b******s in training…I want to fight real fighters who want to fight. I started in a career in boxing to be involved in good fights, for people to say ‘yes (he) fought good fighters and didn't pick and choose.’”

Alexander Ustinov (right) is Fury's next opponent scheduled for a fight in Manchester, England tomorrow. Fury is going into the fight with no sparring, where Ustinov has been sparring with world champion Wladimir Klitschko and Fury's former challenger Dereck Chisora. If Fury is not careful Ustinov will beat him. He has to bring his A game or face his first loss.

In other Fury news, he is refusing to appear before the British Boxing Board of Control, regarding a profanity filled press conference he conducted last week, which was also full of explicit sexual jokes, in the presence of men, women and children. The British Boxing Board of Control warned Fury they would revoke his license if he failed to appear. However, Fury says he will not attend the August 13, 2014 hearing. Fury shall use an Irish boxing license henceforth.

Fury shouldn’t burn bridges in this manner. The Irish board will not promote that type of press conference either. All boards seek to make boxing family friendly. Fury is upset over career setbacks and it’s coming out the wrong way. However, he has a talent for boxing and should work within the system.

Tyson Fury Finds New Opponent To Replace Dereck Chisora

This week British boxer, Dereck Chisora, pulled out of a rematch against rival, Tyson Fury that was scheduled for July 26, 2014 in Manchester, England, citing a broken wrist. Chisora stated he broke his wrist during sparring against 300 pound, 6 foot 7 inch boxer, Alexander Ustinov. This left  Fury furious and searching for a replacement, as his last three fights have been cancelled, costing him a sizable sum in training camps.

Alexander Ustinov

Chisora's replacement has been announced and wait for it...it's Alexander Ustinov. That's right. Chisora's sparring partner. Fury is happy, as he is eager to fight again. However, Fury needs to be careful, because if given too much leeway, Ustinov, who is 29-1 in the ring, will beat him. Take him seriously in the ring and dispatch him as soon as possible or you could face your first loss as a pugilist.
