Congratulations to the Miami Heat on winning the NBA finals
against the Oklahoma Thunder. Congrats to the Thunder for great play as
well. This is the Heat's second title and like the first, is well deserved
for their hard work and effort.
The Heat became the team to beat when Cleveland native,
Lebron James, who is currently the best basketball player in the league,
left his home state and NBA team the Cavaliers, to expand his horizons in
Miami. Every athlete wants the trophy and there is nothing wrong with
looking elsewhere to pursue it.
In a humorous twist, not everyone is taking the Heat's
win well (see Cleveland, Ohio)
The Judiciary Report did state the Heat with James would
win and now they have and in a great way. The NBA should be happy about the
Heat and their place in basketball. James moving to the team, created an
intense rivalry in the league, where everyone elevated their level of play,
in wanting to defeat the Heat.
This created so many headlines and blog
posts, which translated into greater international interest, increasing
ticket and merchandising sales, providing greater global exposure for the
sport. It was a win win for everyone in the league.
