The Republican Party (GOP) have widened their lead in numerous national polls, against U.S. President Barack Obama's Democratic Party, which currently holds a comfortable majority in Congress.
With the 2010 mid-term elections less than two weeks away, Democrats are scrambling to regain some composure in the face of a crumbling economy, they vowed to fix, after the plague that was former President, George W. Bush. They are also having difficulty explaining why the past few years under their legislative control, did not reverse previous financial losses and bring the nation greater prosperity, as promised.
