Tibet's Dalai Lama (left) and U.S. President Barack Obama (right)
Yesterday, U.S. President Barack Obama, met with Tibetan guru the Dalai Lama at the White House in Washington, D.C., despite protests from China, the largest holder of national debt. According to reports, China views the visit as interference in their national politics, stating they are hurt by it.
After the visit was over, the Dalai Lama was escorted out the backdoor like a mistress (I just had a flash back from the Clinton era). What was the sense of bringing him there, only to ban reporters and then usher him out the back. It comes across as discourteous.
