U.S. Reopens Embassy In Yemen

The U.S. government has reopened its embassy in terrorist magnet, Yemen, after threats from Al Qaeda forced an abrupt closure. Government officials believe they have addressed the security issue that caused them to close shop.

SAN'A, Yemen -- The U.S. Embassy in Yemen reopened Tuesday after a two-day closure, saying successful Yemeni counterterrorism operations have addressed the threat that prompted the measure.

The embassy shut down on Sunday because of an imminent al Qaeda attack. In an announcement on its Web site Tuesday, the embassy said the Yemini operations have allowed it to resume operations.
