"The Neighbor" starring actor, Matthew Modine, is a film about a man helping to raise his teenage daughter, after a bitter divorce, which he and later his ex-wife, deem a mistake.

He leases an apartment in a quiet building, where his neighbor is a bitter female attorney, who is engaged to a scheming corporate executive.

They irritate each other, getting into arguments over simple things, such as what each tenant is allowed to do on their balcony, in the way of entertaining.

Ultimately, it leads to the attorney doing her level best to evict the divorcee, deeming him an unsuitable neighbor and a nuisance.

He later befriends her, to mix results at first. However, as the film progresses, she changes her mind about him. This was an entertaining family type film, but it reminds the viewer of the sadness of divorce and that it is best avoided.
