Gordon Brown On Lockerbie Scandal

"Brown denies 'double-dealing' over Lockerbie release"

British Prime Minister, Gordon Brown, was between a rock and a hard place last week, regarding the furor accompanying the release of Lockerbie bomber, Megrahi. He was released early, as he is dying of prostate cancer, which is often treatable with what is currently available on the market.

Documents obtained by the press revealed, a memo in which Prime Minister Brown expressed, he did not want Megrahi to die in prison, fearing how it would look and the impact it would have on Britain's ties with Libya.

Brown stated at the press conference that the early release was a decision taken by the Scottish government and not his office.
