Obama's Health Care Pitch

Video: Obama: Health Care Reform Needed Now

U.S. President Barack Obama has been pitching his health care initiatives like he was on the campaign trail again, as in 2008. He has been pitching it like an insurance sales man (joking).

In the above posted speech, Obama lays out his point of view and the highlights of his health care initiatives, stating it will NOT add $1 dollar to the national deficit. How much will it add, then? $1 trillion dollars? Just kidding, don't get mad.

It would be wonderful if everyone was covered and it is possible, but this is something that must be undertaken with great care and when the time is right, as America is buckling under the weight of a massive amount of debt and financial loss. Nonetheless, I wish you well in this endeavor.

Rep. Joe Wilson Gets Windfall Of Cash

...After Obama Incident

Rep. Joe Wilson

Congressional representative, Joe Wilson, whose outburst during U.S. President Barack Obama's speech this week, caused a massive amount of controversy, when he exclaimed the words, "You lie" has seen a significant increase in campaign donations. $750,000 to be exact.

S.C.'s Wilson Rakes In $750,000 in Less Than 48 Hours; Opponent Tops $1 Million

With a political arms race in full force, Rep. Joe Wilson (R-S.C.) has raised almost $750,000 in less than 48 hours since his shout of "You lie!" to President Obama during the Wednesday address to Congress, almost matching the Internet-fueled haul of his likely Democratic opponent.

A senior GOP official said Wilson, who apologized to White House Chief of Staff Rahm Emanuel after the health-care speech but has since refused a more public apology, has turned his own previous sleepy campaign machine into an Web-friendly effort.

Just as liberals have poured cash into the campaign of Rob Miller, who lost to Wilson by almost eight percentage points in 2008, conservatives are pouring contributions into Wilson's campaign at an astonishing rate...

To put this fund-raising haul in perspective, Wilson, by early next week, could equal the total amount of money he raised in the entire two-year-election cycle of 2008, when he raised a little more than $1.1 million.

Miller, by contrast, raised just $390,000 in donations for the entire 2008 cycle and lent himself another $235,000 of his own money, according to records filed with the Federal Election Commission. So he's already doubled, in just two days, his total donations over a two-year period...

"CNN Mistakes Drill For Terrorist Attack"

Video: CNN Mistakes Drill for Attack CBS

CNN, the network that pronounced world leaders Chavez and Castro dead before time, when the men are still alive and typed Obama's name across the screen as Osama, made another blunder this week that left them red-faced.

The U.S. government was running a terrorist drill, inquisitive CNN spotted the exercise taking place and started rolling their cameras, pronouncing it another terrorist attack on the anniversary of 9/11.

By comparison, CNN is making this site look like Walter Cronkite was running it when he was alive (shakes head). CNN is now officially in TMZ blunder prone territory.

Oldest Person Dies At Age 115

Gertrude Baines

A Christian woman in Los Angeles, Gertrude Baines, died as the oldest person to ever live, at the rip old age of 115, existing on a diet of bacon, eggs, fried chicken and ice cream. Take that Gillian McKeith - just kidding.

Baines, a devout Christian, who avoided drinking alcohol and smoking, attributed her longevity to Jesus. She is the daughter of a man born into slavery and the grandchild of slaves.

The amazing things she must have seen during her 115 years, living such a long and blessed life. God bless her.

Time catches up to oldest of us all

September 13, 2009 - THE epic yet simple life of Gertrude Baines encompassed the reigns of 21 American presidents...

Ms Baines celebrated her 115th birthday this year by declaring that she wanted to be around to vote for Mr Obama again in 2012. But she will not fulfil that wish.

...Ms Baines, who died in her sleep of suspected heart failure on Friday at the Western Convalescent Hospital in Los Angeles, where she had lived for 11 years.

She was 115 years and 158 days old, having celebrated her last birthday in April with music, cake and congratulations from Mr Obama.

Ms Baines, who lived on her own until she was 105, became the planet's longest living human in January after Portuguese woman Maria de Jesus died.

She attributed her longevity to her religion, clean-living and eating what tasted good.

According to MSNBC.com, Ms Baines enjoyed ''simple pleasures'' of eating a diet of bacon and eggs, and watching shows such as The Price is Right and Jerry Springer. She was a daughter of a man born into slavery and granddaughter of former slaves.

''She told me that she owes her longevity to the Lord, that she never did drink, never did smoke and never did fool around,'' her doctor, Charles Witt, said.

Born in 1894 in Georgia, Baines outlived her entire family. Baines worked as a maid at the University of Ohio dormitories until her retirement. ''I did not have a lot of fun as an adult but I enjoyed going to church every Sunday,'' Baines once told an interviewer.

Asked what advice she had for others she said: ''Treat everybody right, and ask God. I have no secrets for long life and I do not have any disappointments in my own life.''...
