Obama Wants The Republicans' Help

Barack Obama

U.S. President, Barack Obama, is requesting the assistance of rival Republicans in the New Year, to help revive the nation's ailing economy. Though their financial and political policies greatly differ, President Obama, a Democrat, is seeking a partnership with the GOP, to address America's unemployment and mortgage crisis.

Congress has been touting bipartisanship for years, but in all honesty, it has not happened. Each side has held out for the things that matter most to their platform. The American people have become the children in an acrimonious political divorce that should not happen. They fail to grasp, if one side fails, both sides fail.

Are You Raising A Madoff Or Stanford

Ponzi schemer Bernard Madoff, his brother Peter Madoff and sons Andrew and Mark in 1995

As the New Year begins, after a tumultuous 24 months of ponzi schemers and fraudsters being exposed, with more to come, businesspeople need to take stock and a long look at what has happened to the economy. Ask yourselves, are you raising the next fraudsters. When you teach your kids to be ruthless, heartless and greedy, putting self before all else, what kind of example are you giving them and will it bring them down in the future.

Ponzi schemer R. Allen Stanford

Most families do not start out that way, but wrong turns are made and kids go on to do the unthinkable, damaging many in the process. In an age of greed, it is an easy message to foster, but not the right one. Teach your children the value of hard work, respect, human decency and integrity. Teach them to respect others property and their own and what it takes to lawfully acquire it.

Miley Cyrus Thanks Fans For Support

Miley Cyrus

Fallen, former Disney "Hannah Montana" star, Miley Cyrus, thanked her fans online for their support in 2010. She wrote of a love and bond between herself and her audience. However, the Judiciary Report would be remiss, if the site did not point out, in the entertainment industry, you're only as good as your last hit. Music hit, Miley, not bong hit.

The site is disappointed in the turn Cyrus has taken in her career and hopes 2011 will mark a turnaround for the 18-year-old singer/actress, who has a lot of potential and talent. Cyrus doesn't need the gimmicks or wild behavior. She should rely on her talents instead.

CELEBRITY Sound Off Column Year End Awards

Biggest Meltdown: Demi Lovato - snorting cocaine on video, while ranting about why the world loves you is pretty sad. A reported underage sex tape is even sadder. Popping your back-up dancer in the face added an unneeded Lohan element to it all. Time to take stock and start over again.

Most Avoidable Fall: Miley Cyrus, who's had every encouragement and financial resource to pay for help to assist in keeping her on the straight and narrow. Time to get back on track Miley.

Best Comeback: Michael Vick, who went from the NFL to prison/bankruptcy and back to the NFL and prosperity again. He has rebuilt his life and is playing some spectacular football. God is great and merciful.

Prettiest Hair: Normally, I would say Oprah Winfrey and Jennifer Aniston, but coming out of nowhere to steal the pretty hair crown is...New England Quarterback, Tom Brady. He looks like a pretty high school senior. Brady now has hair like a pretty Shetland Pony, crossed with a unicorn.

Worst Weave: Normally this award would go to Beyonce for killing a whole field of horses for her weave, but this year, hands down it is Britney Spears, whose hair is starting to look like a lab culture.

Worst Plastic Surgery: This award definitely goes to Madonna. To spend NASA's budget and still rival Gollum is a mystery.

SPIRITUAL When Life Becomes Too Hard

When life becomes too hard, we are tempted to give up, especially at the start of a new year. Depression and discouragement can takeover and seemingly get the best of us. However, giving up is not an option. You can make it through your troubles. God gave you life for a reason. Live it well and to the fullest. Help all you can along the way. God bless.

FSU Wins Chick-Fil-A Bowl

FSU coach Jimbo Fisher getting dunked with ice and water (Photo credit: Atlanta Journal Constitution)

FSU won the Chick-Fil-A Bowl in Atlanta last night at the Georgia Dome, defeating South Carolina, who put in a good effort. It was a wonderful cap on a great year for Florida State. Congrats to them. On an interesting note, FSU's Greg Reid was handing out concussions last night. Ouch! I felt it through the TV screen (grin). Thankfully, everyone is okay.
