Obama's Approval Numbers Hit New Low

According to polls, U.S. President Barack Obama's approval ratings have sustained their biggest decline, since he has taken office this year, hitting a new low.

President Barack Obama's team appears to be suffering from shortsightedness, not thinking ahead or correctly anticipating public reaction to many of their initiatives.

Former President George W. Bush, left the country in a very bad way, dragging the nation to unprecedented lows. However, Obama must not look at the Presidency as a situation where he can do no wrong and he cannot allow the job to warp his mind.

President Obama needs to listen to the will of the people. At the end of the day, it is all that will matter in any political climate. Collectively and politically, the people can make or break you.

The British Election

Gordon Brown

The Judiciary Report is looking forward to the next British election. The Labour Party, headed by Prime Minister, Gordon Brown, has fallen afoul of the British people, due to the wars in the Middle East and the current economic crisis, much of which he inherited from former PM Tony Blair, by way of allegiance to George "W stands for Wrongway" Bush.

David Cameron

Opposition leader, David Cameron, promises a better Britain and recently outlined his vision for the nation. In an attempt to counter Cameron's platform, Brown has proclaimed his plans for Britain as well. It shall be an interesting race. May the best man win.

Sarah Brown

The Judiciary Report has conservative leanings, but nonetheless, the site bears no ill-will towards liberal, Gordon Brown and wishes all of Britain the best. May the will of the people be voted and heard in large numbers.

Hollywood And Violence

Nicole Kidman

This week "Golden Compass" actress, Nicole Kidman, made an appearance in Congress, as apart of a hearing regarding a topic the Judiciary Report has written about for years, violence in Hollywood films and programs.

Kidman conceded many Hollywood films are violent, but stated she can only be responsible for herself.

The graphic gore and brutal bloodiness is disturbing to the average person. Yet, Hollywood continues to ratchet up the violence factor, believing it is what the majority of audiences desire.

Then there's the dysfunction factor in Hollywood films that has gone beyond sick into the morbid, macabre and perverse.

I prefer old Hollywood, where being a star used to mean something. Stars used to have class, presence, poise, charm and charisma.

Now the majority of Hollywood stars are irresponsible, distasteful, brawling, DUI having, small minded individuals, contributing nothing positive to society. They are thieving, unoriginal, abusive, violent and cruel, employing criminal and invasive tactics to gain what they view as an advantage.

It seems anyone can be a star nowadays, making a once exclusive club, very devalued, underwhelming and untalented.

Really, where is the new generation of Elvis, Michael Jacksons, Sinatras, Whitney Houstons, Barbra Streisands, Audrey Hepburns and Bea Arthurs.

Yes, stars such as Julia Roberts, Halle Berry, Reese Witherspoon and Denzel Washington, have proven themselves, but the new breed of celebrities are sub-par and not outstanding.

Please, take a good look at what you have running around Hollywood now, masquerading as stars. Paris "No Talent" Hilton, Lindsay " Drugged Up" Lohan, Britney "Psycho" Spears, Chris "Woman Beater" Brown, Rihanna the Manbeater lesbian and Megan "Trash Mouth" Fox.

And let's not even talk about reality TV.

What Were They Thinking

Steve Phillips

Handsome ESPN sportscaster, Steve Phillips, is the subject of a national sex scandal, as his 22-year-old, troubled co-worker, Brooke Hundley, with whom he has been conducting an extramarital affair, began stalking his wife and children.

Brooke Hundley

Hundley should get a grip on the situation. The man is better off with his family. However, his wife, Mari Phillips, who is understandably hurt and wounded by this betrayal by her husband and criminal stalking by Hundley, has filed for divorce.

David Letterman is also embroiled in a sex scandal with co-workers

I dislike it when single women prey on married men and vice versa. Some married men behave like complete bimbos, but some do try to be faithful and it is quite reprehensible when certain women deliberately decide to put temptation in their way.

Infidelity and divorce results in broken homes, broken families and broken hearts. So many spouses and children are scarred by their parents divorces and take that hurt with them all through life.

In short, learn to control your impulses and choose faithfulness over infidelity.

Brooke Hundley used Craiglist to harass Steve Phillips' wife

October 23, 8:49 PM - The New York Post said that Brooke Hundley, the 22-year-old production assistant who had an affair with ESPN analyst Steve Phillips, used Craigslist to hire a woman to make phone calls to Marni Phillips.

Hundley posted a Craigslist ad on August 5 offering $50 to someone willing to torture Phillips' wife over the phone. Courtney Arp, a Connecticut waitress, answered the ad and gave an interview to the Post. "She wanted someone to call her 'friend' that night to say her husband was cheating on her," Arp said.

Arp said Hundley e-mailed her a script of what to say to Marni Phillips. Hundley's script called for Arp to tell Marni that Steve had been cheating with a "young woman at our work" and "if you want to catch them tonight, they are planning to meet after the show at 12:30ish in the Target parking lot...."...

Chris Brown Still Mad At Oprah Winfrey

Chris Brown

Fallen R&B singer, Chris Brown, inexplicably still has issues with talk show host Oprah Winfrey, yet none with fellow womanbeater, Jay-Z, who wanted to kill him for beating up his adulteress, Rihanna, who he has been cheating on his wife, Beyonce, with since the very beginning of their marriage.

Ike Brown, pardon me, Chris Brown, is embarking on a small public redemption tour that will do nothing for his standing in society. He is slated to hold a small concert in Miami, as will fellow misogynist, R. Kelly. A womanbeater and a pedophile hit the road around the same time. Someone alert the CDC.

Chris Brown Unhappy With Oprah, Has 'No Issues' With Jay-Z

Chris Brown granted his first radio interview since the February altercation with his then-girlfriend Rihanna on Wednesday (Oct. 21) to New York radio station Hot 97 (WQHT). During the talk with host Angie Martinez, Brown -- who spent the majority of the air-time stressing his deep regrets for his actions -- said he is "tight" with Oprah Winfrey for her lack of support.

"I don't dis her because I respect what she does for women around the world. But we did so many things together as far as me working for her schools in Africa, that I feel at the time I needed a helping hand, not for my career but as a person, instead of her pointing fingers," said Brown. "At the end of the day, you have opinions and thoughts, and that isn't wrong, but it's not right to judge someone when people make mistakes all the time. I learned from mine, I'm still learning and I regret every moment, every second."

Additionally, Brown said about Jay-Z, who was rumored to be the reason why Brown wasn't asked to perform during this year's BET Awards, "I have no issues with dude. Honestly, I don't know and I don't think it was him."...

50-Year-Olds Love Stalking Justin Timberlake

An uncomfortable looking Justin Timberlake being attacked by 52-Year-Old Madonna on stage, during her failed album Hard Candy

What's with 50-year-old women stalking pop singer Justin Timberlake. First Madonna, now a woman named, Karen McNeil, keeps trying to rape the 20 something singer that loves hitting whiny, irritating notes that eliminates his audience's need for q-tips.

McNeil took a taxi to Timberlake's Los Angeles' home and hopped the fence, trying to gain entry to his house.

Timberlake the wimp called the police, they arrested her, transported her to the hospital, seeking a psych ward hold and were turned away, as it was deemed she is not crazy enough. Hey, it's Los Angeles. The hospitals are used to crazy stars, who make all other crazy people pale in comparison.

Timberlake Wins Restraining Order

Posted Oct 23rd 2009 5:24PM by TMZ Staff - UPDATE 3:06 PM PST: In the documents, Timberlake claims McNeil is an "obsessed mentally unstable celebrity stalker, who [Timberlake] does not personally know."

According to legal documents, obtained by TMZ, McNeil rolled over to Timberlake's house in a taxi on October 22, bypassed security measures, "trespassed onto [Timberlake's] property, attempted to gain access into his home, and delusionaly claimed to know and be friends with [Timberlake]."

Timberlake's security team eventually apprehended McNeil, who is described as a "heavyset white female, approximately 50 years of age." Justin's people also believe McNeil "appeared to be a transient."

UPDATE: We're told LAPD cops took McNeil to a local hospital for a 5150 psychiatric evaluation. Sources say the individuals who evaluated her felt McNeil did not meet the criteria for a 5150 hold so she was released....

Effectiveness Of Stimulus Questioned

U.S. President Barack Obama

The effectiveness of the stimulus bills by former President George W. Bush and White House incumbent, Barack Obama, is being questioned, as the numbers are not adding up and equaling growth.

Certain companies such as AIG and a few automakers needed the assistance, to save a multitude of jobs, but the government lost its way in throwing billions at banks and numerous other financial entities and business enterprises, some of which have misused the funds, not producing anything of value for the American people. Some banks, such as Northern Trust, received massive sums of money they didn't even need.

I question the logic of having done this, rather than focusing on a few U.S. corporations that anchor the American economy.

Additionally, bailout money, by law, should have been stipulated as funds that must be repaid, as corporations improved their financial outlook.

As it stands, many business recipients have no intention of repaying a dime, as they are not legally compelled to do so. Christmas came early for the corporate sector courtesy of the American taxpayer.

Americans Cooling On Global Warming

Al Gore: Oh no they didn't!

Global warming had become a religion for some people. Then the BBC released news last week, illustrating the world was warmer in 1995, than it is now. It pretty much deflated the tires on the global warming bandwagon.

Uh oh!

A survey conducted recently reveals, the number of Americans that believe, "There is solid evidence the Earth is warming" has decreased.

*Looks at Al Gore with blank stare* Suddenly that Oscar doesn't look so shiny. I'm just teasing.

Poll: Americans' belief in global warming cools

WASHINGTON – The number of Americans who believe there is solid evidence the Earth is warming because of pollution is at its lowest point in three years, according to a survey released Thursday.

The poll of 1,500 adults by the Pew Research Center for the People & the Press found that only 57 percent believe there is strong scientific evidence the Earth has gotten hotter over the past few decades, and as a result, people are viewing the situation as less serious. That's down from 77 percent in 2006, and 71 percent in April 2008...

World Governments Accuse Google Of Copyright Infringement

Google HQ

The Chinese, German and French governments have correctly accused Google of copyright infringement, in scanning 10,000,000 books, by authors all over the world, without permission.

Google's book scanning endeavor, has prompted legal action in numerous world courts, as they did not obtain the consent of copyright holders before embarking on this endeavor.

The U.S. Government, by way of the Copyright Office/Library Of Congress, has also denounced Google's book scanning project, stating it took away the rights of copyright holders.

The Judiciary Report agrees that the corporate behemoth, Google, should have obtained the permission of copyright holders, before undertaking this massive project. It unintentionally sent the signal that copyright infringement is okay, when it is not.

Many books now appear on the internet for free and pop up in regular searches on numerous topics and celebrities, eliminating the need to purchase the actual book.

This hurts writers all over the globe, who are not being compensated for their copyrighted works. The proposed Google settlement is too small and accurate records of how many times each scanned book was viewed should be provided to gauge the full extent of the financial damage.

The Judiciary Report is all for progress and technological advancement, believing scanning is a great step forward, but within the scope of the law. Obtain permission first.

Side Bar: Speaking of Google News. Someone removed the Judiciary Report from Google News weeks ago, after it had been accepted in the program with a few news articles from the site beginning to appear in search results in Google News.

Apparently, a certain crazy pop tart, Madonna, was angry the site received additional coverage and in her usual misconduct, violated the Civil Rights Act once again, in having it removed from Google News. Madonna's staff at Digilink pulled a similar stunt with the site's WordPress blog, which was later reinstated - a site Madonna's hackers at Digilink have been tampering with, to obscure the page's text.

China authors say Google violated copyrights

Thu Oct 22, 2009 6:06pm EDT, Saturday, 10 Oct 2009 11:09am EDT - SHANGHAI (Reuters) - A group representing authors in China has accused Google of violating copyrights with its digital library, a claim that Google denies by saying the service complies with international law.

Many major publishers and authors have taken up lawsuits against Google for its digitization of their works, accusing Google of copyright infringement. Google has already digitized 10 million books.

The China Written Works Copyright Society (CWWCS) believes Google scanned thousands of books, by over 500 Chinese authors, into its digital library without their permission or compensation, said spokesman Chen Qirong.

"Whether you are a small company or big company you still need to respect the copyright of the authors," Chen said...

Google, French publishers face off in court

Thu Sep 24, 2009 1:59pm EDT - PARIS (Reuters) - Major publishers accused Google Thursday of "brutally" exploiting France's literary heritage as they launched a court challenge to the Internet giant's drive to scan digital copies of books and put extracts online.

Publishing house La Martiniere, the French Publishers' Association and authors' group SGDL asked a Paris court to fine Google 15 million euros ($22.09 million) and 100,000 euros for each day it continues to violate copyright by digitizing their books.

The trial caps a three-year challenge to what publishers say is the web giant's 2005 plan to create a massive online library without prior approval.

"It's an anarchic way of brutally stockpiling French heritage," Yann Colin, the publishers' lawyer, told the court.

"Digitizing is reproduction," he added. "Once it is digitized, you can't undo it."...

Germany criticizes Google for copyright infringement

Sat Oct 10, 2009 11:20am EDT - BERLIN (Reuters) - German Chancellor Angela Merkel on Saturday criticized the efforts of Google Inc to build a massive digital library, saying the Internet should not be exempt from copyright laws.

In her weekly video podcast, before Tuesday's opening of the Frankfurt Book Fair, Merkel appealed for more international cooperation on copyright protection and said her government opposed Google's drive to scan libraries full of books.

"The German government has a clear position: copyrights have to be protected in the Internet," Merkel said, adding there are "considerable dangers" for copyright protection in the Internet.

"That's why we reject the scanning in of books without any copyright protection -- like Google is doing. The government places a lot of weight on this position on copyrights to protect writers in Germany."

Google has already digitized 10 million books.

Merkel, who will open the world's largest book fair in Germany's financial capital, said there was a need to discuss the issue in greater detail in international institutions...

Top US copyright cop opposes Google book deal

SAN FRANCISCO — The nation's top copyright official has joined the mounting opposition to a class-action settlement that would give Google Inc. the digital rights to millions of out-of-print books.

Her objections cast further doubt on whether the agreement will be allowed by a federal court, even as Google offered a concession Thursday aimed at smoothing the way for approval.

Parts of the settlement are "fundamentally at odds with the law," Marybeth Peters, head of the U.S. Copyright Office, testified in a House Judiciary Committee hearing Thursday that was webcast. She also expressed concerns that the settlement would undermine Congress' ability to govern copyrights and could have "serious international implications" for books published outside the United States...

"The so-called settlement would create mechanisms by which Google could continue to scan with impunity, well into the future, and to our great surprise, create yet additional commercial products without the prior consent of rights holders," Peters wrote in a more comprehensive written statement submitted to the Judiciary Committee...

The open-ended nature of the settlement is "tantamount to creating a private compulsory license," Peters wrote, something she believes could circumvent the authority of Congress.
