U.S. President Barack Obama ripped health insurers over their high premiums and deceitful lobbying, aimed at spreading misinformation regarding his administration's initiatives.
A disturbing report was published, claiming world governments have been bribing the Taliban in the hope they will behave and desist with committing acts of terror.
It appears they mean well in trying to calm the situation via monetary gifts, but is that really wise. It might only serve to whet their appetite for more money, deeming their unruly, uncivil conduct leverage to gain riches and influences.
Furthermore, what if they use the funds to commit additional acts of terror. Buyer beware.

Reality TV star of the show “Jon and Kate Plus 8” has been sued by the TLC network for breach of contract, among other things, in bailing on his show and his family.
Gosselin did a string of interviews with other channels and magazines, in violation of his contract with TLC, who has first rights regarding such exclusives.
He stated in a video on Radar Online, he had no clue he had been sued, finding out about the legal action through Google Alerts.
Gosselin was better off with his family, fulfilling his contractual obligation to the show. The adulterous affairs and separation have only set him back. No matter what Hollywood tells you, no nation in the world loves dysfunction. People enjoy a good story and decent programming showing others leading positive lives.

The recent death of homosexual boyband member, Stephen Gately, this month, who died suddenly of a heart attack at age 33, while on vacation, has vaulted the subject of domestic violence amongst gays, back into the spotlight.
Gately was “married” to Andrew Cowles, a physically, emotionally and mentally abusive gay man that beat him in public so severely, a photographer had to pull him off the Boyzone singer. Gately was punched and kicked in the head and torso repeatedly, which caused him to bleed profusely (this dude must be related to Chris Brown).

After sleeping with another man and kicking Gately out of his own bedroom, not to mention viciously beating him, Cowles stands to inherit his fortune. He does not deserve the money, as he clearly treated Gately very badly.

The Sun reports that the alleged assailant, Peter Kowalczyk, was a failed aspirant on the British talent show X Factor, which Lewis had previously won.
According to Kowalczyk's father, Tomasz, "He wants to be a singer. He went along and queued at X Factor. How far he got with it? Nowhere."
Compounding matters is the fact that Kowalczyk—who was sectioned in the hospital under the Mental Health Act after the incident—apparently had a history of mental illness beforehand. The alleged assailant apparently suffers from anaemia, which his parents say can affect his mental state, and was being treated by England's National Health Service with weekly music therapy...

Published: October 16, 2009 - WASHINGTON — The Obama administration said Friday that the federal budget deficit for the fiscal year that just ended was $1.4 trillion, nearly a trillion dollars greater than the year before and the largest shortfall relative to the size of the economy since 1945...
The shortfall for the fiscal year 2009, which ended Sept. 30, translates to 10 percent of the economy, according to a joint statement from the Treasury secretary, Timothy F. Geithner, and the director of the Office of Management and Budget, Peter R. Orszag. For the 2008 fiscal year, the deficit of $459 billion was 3.2 percent of the economy, as measured by the gross domestic product.
Economists generally agree that annual deficits should not exceed 3 percent of the G.D.P., and that is the level President Obama had vowed to reach by the end of his first term in 2013.
But subsequent spending and tax cuts to stimulate the economy, and lower-than-expected revenues as the recession deepened before bottoming out, combined to push the administration’s deficit forecast to 4.6 percent of G.D.P. for the fiscal year 2013.
At 10 percent of the gross domestic product, the 2009 deficit is the highest since the end of World War II, when it was 21.5 percent. At that level, it already has become a bigger economic and a political issue than any time since the late 1980s...

Foreclosure filings were reported on 937,840 homes in the three-month period, a 23 percent jump from a year earlier, according to a report real estate firm RealtyTrac released Thursday. By the grace of God, a baby survived being run over by a train. The amazing footage above, captured what happened to the poor tot.
The baby's stroller accidentally rolled off the ramp at a station and into the path of the coming train. The child survived the injury, with only a slight bump on the head. Thank God the baby is okay.

The family was interviewed on national television this morning, regarding the incident that sparked a search that incorporated many police officers and volunteers, when the young man let the cat out of the bag, live on air, branding it a publicity stunt via stating, "You had said we did this for the show." Oh dear.

Boy's Comments After Balloon Chase Spark Fresh Questions
Friday, October 16, 2009; 11:27 AM - The too-shocking-to-be-true story of a Colorado boy carried away by a silver helium balloon took new turns Friday morning, with law enforcement authorities saying they will look into the youth's comment during a live television interview that "we did this for a show."
While Larimer County Sheriff Jim Alderden said investigators had not detected any signs that Thursday's saga -- which mesmerized the television-watching public -- was a hoax or publicity stunt, he added that little Falcon Heene's remark on CNN's "Larry King Live" would prompt them to ask additional questions.
Falcon told the cable channel he had heard his family calling his name while he was hiding in the attic--and while his parents and the nation thought he was captive on a runaway, homemade balloon contraption.
"You did?" asked his mother, Mayumi Heene, seemingly incredulous.
"Why didn't you come out?" queried Richard Heene, the boy's father, the balloon's inventor and the person whose scolding of Falcon earlier in the day had previously been credited with prompting the boy to flee and hide in the attic.
After a pause, a fidgety Falcon answered, "You said that we did this for a show."...
