U.S. President Barack Obama and his family, are scheduled to vacation in Martha’s Vineyard in Massachusetts next week.

The past week has been racked with problems regarding health care and the controversial public option.

The GOP has declared victory, regarding opposing Obama’s health care initiatives, they refer to as wasteful, but some believe they "misunderestimate" his "strategery" (Yes, that was a Bushism).

President Barack Obama is officially taking one next week when he heads to Martha's Vineyard. But his long "to do" list -- two wars, worldwide recession and a host of legislative battles in store when he gets back, most notably the struggle over reforming the U.S. health system -- will make it hard for him to relax and disconnect.

Obama is the best salesman for healthcare reform, economic stimulus and other domestic agenda items, and his absence could hurt, analysts said...

Some critics have questioned whether the president should take a vacation at all, especially given the country's stubborn economic problems and the vehemence of opposition to the $1 trillion healthcare plan.

Others have slammed him for heading to a Massachusetts resort island known as a haven for the rich and famous...

Jackson's family had planned a private daytime service for Aug. 29. The pop superstar will now be interred in The Great Mausoleum at Forest Lawn-Glendale at a private evening ceremony...

Brad Pitt, who stars in the movie “Inglorious Basterds” is slamming fellow actor, Tom Cruise, over his Nazi hunting film “Valkyrie.” Pitt referred to Cruise’s previously released film as “ridiculous” while claiming his “Inglorious Basterds” is the definitive film on Nazis.

Was that really necessary? Yes, Tom Cruise is "one taco short of a combination platter" but what’s your beef with him all of a sudden.

You didn’t invent the notion of Nazis and your films are different, so what’s the problem. You’re behaving like an aging drama queen.

‘Inglourious Basterds’ star thinks his new film closes book on WWII genre

Brad Pitt stars in this Quentin Tarantino film set during World War II about a group of Jewish soldiers who scalp and kill Nazis.

As far as Brad Pitt is concerned, his new film “Inglourious Basterds” is the be all and end all of Nazi movies.

“The second World War could still deliver more stories and films, but I believe that Quentin [Tarantino, director] put a cover on that pot. With ‘Basterds,’ everything that can be said to this genre has been said,” Pitt tells the German magazine Stern. “The film destroys every symbol. The work is done, end of story.”

As for another WWII Hitler assassination movie with a famous Hollywood star, he says there is no comparison. When the Stern reporter mentioned Tom Cruise's recent turn in a film about a real plot to kill Hitler, Pitt simply said, “It was a ridiculous movie.”...

A Hollywood model that posed in Playboy, Jasmine Fiore, 28, married a reality show contestant, Ryan Jenkins, 32, who was paid $250,000 for his appearance on the program "Megan Wants a Millionaire" and is the son of a millionaire, is now facing charges, accused of murdering and stuffing her into a suitcase.

The luggage was found in a dumpster. Upon closer inspection, it contents revealed a human body, with its teeth and fingers removed, to prevent identification.

Jenkins was previously charged with assault a former girlfriend and Fiore as well. As I stated last week before this crime transpired, why don't television shows properly screen contestants.

Police issue warrant for TV star over Playboy model's murder

Aug. 20, 2009, 1:43PM - California police have issued a warrant for the arrest of reality TV contestant Ryan Jenkins as they continue to investigate the murder of his Playboy model wife.

Jasmine Fiore, 28, was discovered strangled and stuffed in a suitcase in Orange County, California on Saturday morning.

Jenkins, 32, disappeared after reporting her missing later that day, and is thought to have returned to his native Canada...

However, Jenkins' recent legal woes are not his first. A domestic violence criminal complaint was filed against the Megan Wants a Millionaire star for allegedly striking Fiore earlier this year. He was also convicted of assaulting another girlfriend in 2005 in Calgary, Canada.

Another Hollywood celebrity has been charged with multiple rapes. Alex Da Silva, the choreographer for the television show “So You Think You Can Dance” was charged this week with raping four women.

Previously, a Hollywood designer and friend of Paris Hilton, was charged with raping women in Los Angeles as well.

August 18, 2009 | 8:56 am - A salsa dance instructor and choreographer on the Fox television show "So You Think You Can Dance" was arrested this morning on a felony warrant charging him with sexually assaulting four women.

Alex Da Silva, 41, was arrested at his North Hollywood home by Los Angeles police. The charges include four counts of forcible rape, two counts of assault with intent to commit rape and two counts of sexual penetration by a foreign object, said Jane Robison, spokeswoman for the Los Angeles County district attorney's office...

Los Angeles police investigators alleged that Da Silva raped four female students using various ruses to get them into his bedroom, such as wanting to show them new clothes or asking for help fixing his computer.

I saw the trailer for James Cameron's forthcoming film "Avatar" and it is quite overrated, considering he claimed he created a new "fusion" camera system just for the movie that would change the way films are made.

Smurfs anyone?

However, looking at the trailer and accompanying publicity stills, it doesn't look much different than the processes used to make films like "Beowulf" or "The Chipmunks." Sorry, but that's how it looks to me. He behaved as though this thing would be celluloid on crack.
