Apparently, Mattel didn't want to confuse its young, impressionable audience, with a steroids crazed, testosterone taking, manly looking, plastic surgery botched she-man, whose songs they know nothing about, as her time has past, relegated to irrelevancy in the annals of pop culture.

Furthermore, they probably didn't want to encourage steroids use among children, with startled parents picking up the doll in stores and exclaiming, "This Barbie is on steroids!"
